I received a letter stating that there was a recall on my car due to the passenger air bag but the parts to replace it are not in, I want to disable the air bag to avoid possible injury until it can be fixed but the dealership will not do this until the company will authorize it. The recall describes personal injury or possible death as a result of the defect. I do not want to drive my car and if I am injured or die as a result of this. . . . My family will sue the heck out of the company and the agency overseeing the industry. Just give dealerships the permission to deactivate the passenger side air bags so we don't have to ride around with miniature ieds in our dashboards or compensate us for rental cars.

Takata recall. I received a letter informing me of the recall. If deployed, the passenger side airbag may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing injury or death. I received this letter in March 2017. I haven't received any other communication about resolving this. I stopped at a local Ford dealership to inquire about ways to resolve and they had no options to offer until parts are available to fix the airbag. They were given no timeframe in which this would happen.

I received a note from Ford months ago that the passenger side airbag should be replaced and that I should wait until I hear from my local Ford dealer. When I checked with the dealer he said we are "waiting for parts" . . . I have had no word from anyone since.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that on the front passenger side there was an air bag casing that was pushing upwards towards the dashboard. The contact was concerned due to the air bag casing being out of place and could experience a failure with the front passenger side air bag. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was not determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer mentioned that the dashboard could be replaced but it would be at the contacts expense. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,000.

Takada recall - this recall is for my daughter's passenger side air bag. We have been waiting since March of 2017 the date we received the recall notice from Ford, to get the airbag replaced. Everytime she drives that car or has a passenger in her car it is a safety hazzard knowing other drivers and passenger's have died while waiting for the part or parts to be replaced. I am appalled at the lack of urgency on the car manufacturer's and takeda to fix all the vehichles involved in the recall considering the price to pay is with someone's life. This is absolutely unacceptable. Unfortunately for my daughter and many other's affected, the parts will not be available any time soon which is unacceptable.

Passenger side airbag is affected by the takata recall. My complaint is that Ford has known since June 2016 that the passenger airbag needs to be replaced, but has yet to send notification. I only became aware of the recall by researching on my own. Ford has an obligation to notify owners of a recall even if parts are not immediately available.
I received a notice last fall, I have called the dealership to have airbags replaced many times but am told they do not have available parts and do not know when my airbags will be replaced. The passenger side airbag location is pulling up from my dash.

Takata recall. The passenger side airbag cover is half lifted up and is extremely dangerous. Could inflate at any time. No remedy yet and I'm extremely concerned this will inflate while we are driving in the car.

Takata recall: I received a recall notice from Ford about a year ago and to warn about passenger side airbag recall and to avoid having passengers sit in the car due to danger of injury or death due to flying parts of airbag in a collision. Ford still has not replaced the airbag and the dealer says that Ford has not released any parts to replace the airbag. I believe it will be one year in July. Can Ford be forced to replace these airbags soon? or provide a buy-back option for the car in case they cannot repair it? especially after 1 year? thank you!.
The contact owns a 2009 Ford Fusion. While the vehicle was parked, there were bubbles on the dashboard surrounding the front passenger side air bag. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

VIN tool confirms part not available.
2011 Ford Fusion passenger airbag replacement delay. Ford has had over a year to replace the passenger side airbag they said could kill someone. Why has this not been corrected yet???? my VIN is = [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags); however, the remedy was not yet available. Parts distribution disconnect.
Takata recall two months ago, I received recall notice indicating inflation of the passenger side airbag could cause severe injury or death. Neither Ford nor NHTSA have acted in a responsible manner in that Ford is still waiting for parts and cannot estimate when parts will be available. Considering inflation can cause "serious injury or death", there is no honest guidance by either Ford nor NHTSA other than keep driving. I intend to copy this to my two senators and my house representative.
Takata reall - over a year the issue is still unresolved. What does your office recommend? how unsafe does your office believe the vehicle is to drive? how long did your office allow Ford to fix this safety issue? also, I received the 15s21 recall (driver side air bag) on the families Ford mustang 2007; however, a 15s21 recall was never received on the 2008 Fusion (driver side air bag) why?.
Takata recall: Ford is unable to supply replacement parts for passenger side airbag in my Ford Fusion 2010 car. I have been asking my local Ford dealer for almost one year for when this recall replacement can be completed. Each time, they say they cannot get parts, but hope to have them in the next calendar quarter.

"takata recall". Safety recall notice 16s26 / NHTSA recall 16v-38. I received a recall notice about the takata recall from Ford motor CO. More than a year ago (July 2016). I have never heard from Ford since and have questioned my local dealer several times and have been told they have not received the parts. The notice stated that the issue was with the passenger side airbag, so I am concerned about letting anyone ride in that seat. I believe that having to wait more than a year with no response or to have this resolved is unreasonable and a real safety issue for me and my family.
Takata recall. I received notification of the safety recall in July 2016 regarding the passenger side airbag in my car. The letter indicated follow-up for replacement of this airbag would be sent from Ford motor company once parts are available. I recognize this is a massive recall, but it is now a year later and there has been no further follow-up. Are replacements parts still unavailable? I continue to not allow passengers to ride in my front passenger seat and am concerned for my own safety as well. Any information is appreciated.
Takata recall- received notification from Ford July 2016. Still no fix available for passenger side air bag.
Ford motor company notified me on July 1,2016 of a recall involving takata passenger side air bags. I have called my dealership every month since then and also called Ford motor CO. Customer service. Every time I call ; all of the answers are the same. Parts are not available. I have also been advised to park my car and not to use it until such parts are available. Today I made my calls to both my dealership and to Ford. Both gave me the usual answer. No parts are available. I received in today's mail a notice of takata's bankruptcy. What are we supposed to do? we are in our mid 70's and can not afford to replace our 2010 Ford Fusion. Nor can we afford to park it and lease another car.
"takata recall" : since I received notification of this recall in July 2016, I have called the dealership, called Ford, called NHTSA, and filled out a complaint form that was mailed to me by NHTSA. The dash in my car is bulging above the passenger side air bag. My mechanic is telling me the air bag is likely "twisted. " I believe this qualifies me for an immediate repair. From what I read on the recall site, Ford can do an "interim" repair on high risk vehicles defined older vehicles exposed to high humidity/high temp. I lived in santa fe nm from may - August 2016 - which is about the time I noticed the sudden bulge in the dash. I currently live in florida which is another high humidity/high temp climate. Ford should consider my vehicle as "high risk" and send me the paperwork I need to have it repaired immediately. At the very least, they should send me a voucher so I can take it to any Ford dealership to get it checked - free of charge. The sudden bulge in the dash above the airbag is clearly an indication something is wrong. Ford should be doing everything they can to get my car checked and repaired at no charge to me. At this point, no one from Ford has called or made any attempt to offer me a solution. I would like to know what recourse I have to get this taken care of.
Takata recall Ford dealer still has no parts to replace airbag, after over a year of waiting. Dash is buckling below the passenger side airbag. This recall needs to be repaired immediately.
Takata recall. We received a recall notice for the passenger side airbag in July 2016. I have contacted the local Ford dealer three times since then, and they say the replacements are not available.
Takata recall, I received a notice of recall dated July 2016,for passenger side airbg replacement. I was living in zone a, but have since relocated. I am concerned that the cover area of the airbag is now seperated, and I do not allow anyone to be seeated in the passengers seat. I would like to add that I have taken excellent care of my since the date of purchase. In teh worst case secnerio should someone be seated in the passenger area and the bag deploys in a non accident time of travel I will be left with no other option but to seek civil action for all damages, both injury and interior damages. I am only writing so that there a record as to be noted. Thank you.

Takata airbags recall. We were informed in July 2016 by our Ford dealer of recall. It's been over a year and a half. Our passenger side airbag has been turned off on advice from dealership. When are we going to be notified one way or another when it's going to be replaced.
Takata recall I received a notice from Ford notifying me of a recall for my passenger side airbags. I have contacted my Ford service center 2 times to rectify the problem. Both times I have been told that they do not have the capacity to fix the problem. The most recent time that I contacted Ford, I was told that they may not be able to fix the problem for months or even years. They said they are prioritizing it by car type and location of car.
