Warning Light On Problems of Ford Fusion - part 2

The passenger side air bag quit working. The air bag warning light came on and would not go off. Do not know if automobile was moving or still. Had to have replace the inboard and outboard seat zero weight sensors, rail assembly and replace the passenger seat air bag module. It was very expensive for a part of the car that should last more than 54000 miles.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, as the passenger occupant control weight module that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The car dash warning lights started to come on one by one. The warning chimes also kept going off dash lights would fade in and out. The air bags would turn off as well as the abs warning lights would come on. In addition to that the security systems would engage causing the car not to run. I brought car to the dealer and they said it wasn't safe to drive the car. The teach had issues figuring out the problem and said they have never seen before. I was able to find several other owners of the same car and year with the same issue. There is even a you tube video of it happening as well as comments from others with the same issue. The tech had to get Ford engineers involved who also had issues figuring out the problem. It took six weeks! I do not understand if there was others who have had this issue that they have no clue. It cost me 1400 to fix it and where this is a safety issue where air bags as well as security systems effects the car it should be at minimal a bulletin if not a recall. Computer was replaced and there was a faulty wire shorting out the system.

I was exiting from the highway, and all of a sudden, all of the warning lights came on (abs, traction control, airbags, hill assist, etc. ). All systems became unoperational while I was driving, which caused me great concern. I brought it into the dealership the next morning (the issue was still happening), and they kept it for two weeks because the affected part, a restraint control module (rcm), was on national backorder. They said the car was unsafe to drive, and, if I had gotten in an accident, the airbags wouldn't have deployed. I have read about a number of other people with 2013 Fusions with the same exact defective part, so this issue should probably be investigated.

The airbag warning light will not turn off indicating there is a malfunction (per the manual). Therefore I need to take it back to dealer to get it checked. One of the 3 memory buttons for the electronic seat adjustments is not working properly.

On 10/3/2014, I ran a VIN recall lookup, and no recalls were issued for my car although issue seems to align with a recall issued by Ford on sept 24-25/2014. I am concerned that the population of affected vehicles is larger than the recall.

The air bag warning light is on. When diagnosed at the dealer, the seat weight sensor under the passenger seat has stopped working and needs to be replaced.

I was sent a letter about the passenger airbag needing replaced. I had this done September 2012 because the warning light was on. Do I get a refund since I already had to take care of it.
