The car is burping in the gas cap. It is very difficult to start after fueling. And will randomly shut off. Check engine light is on. Code p1450 $07e8pd & p1450 $07e8. I clear the code and in a day. Or so it comes back on. This started around 78k miles. I have 79201. On my car. Plasting a tight plastic wrap over the tank reduces burping and random shut off. . This IA a major repair for a car with this mileage local non interstate miles. That has been well cared for. This seems to beca common problem for the Fusion based on internet search.

The purge valve went out on my car after never having any performance or emissions related issues. Upon researching, it seems to be rather common in Ford Fusions. Is there a recall review warranted at this time? I was driving to work and started hearing a loud humming, vibrating sound coming from my gas tank / gas cap area. It continued to hum every 15 seconds or so over the next 20 minutes until I arrived at work. There were no other issues and my car seemed to run just fine. This is, however, an emissions concern and seems to be common in Ford Fusion forums. Please investigate for a recall alert.

I found a fuel leak on my 2016 Ford Fusion titanium ecoboost. About 5 months ago when I first notice the problem, a smell of fuel on the left rear passenger side door and as you go further to the rear, the smell of fuel gets stronger, I went to the ground to check for any sign of leaks but I never found any, except for the strong scent of fuel. I thought it was just a fuel thats coming from the fuel refill cap and didnt pay much attention to it. Not until after coming back from work, about 5 months later and went to tend for my vehicle that were parked in our drive way for 5 months, as I sat down on the driver seat and start the engine, I notice the gas on the tank, it was 1/4 left but prior from leaving the vehicle at the drive way, I refuel it and left it with a full tank, so I went around my vehicle to investigate the under carriage of the car and ended up seeing a stain of fuel leak on the ground and as I went deep down under the vehicle were the tank is located, I start to see a trace of fuel dripping down from the gas tank and to the tank shield or tank cover?! I cant named the plate that holds the fuel tank and as I trace it further to the gas tank I saw were the leak is coming from and its coming from were the refill tube was installed. . ! I start to check the web for any clues on what could cause it from getting a crack on the tank and found that Ford Fusions had recalls for the same car, same brand, same year but different manufactured month date but same on the manufactured year wich is 2015 and still Ford motor company denies a factory deffect and wont grant me a recall that were made at the same year, brand, model but different manufactured month. . I hope that someone could adress this issue and get the problem fixed specially when a problem involves a fuel, it is very serious not only for safety of the motorist but to endanger our ecosystem as well. . .

Just had recall # 16b38 done 1/24/18. Driving my husband to work and my engine light came on, took it to have scan done and it's my gas tank or cap? the tech told me my tank is not breathing, neither am I. Not a happy camper. There is currently a recall on the air bags, # 17s01. That's all I need to have an air bag go off and kill everyone in the car. There is also a recall # 15s18 the steering. I would really appreciate it if you could get these recall's taken care of and re do the recall # 16b38. Something went wrong. The car is in michigan, so we need a Ford dealer in michigan. Please email me or call me as soon as you can get this set up. Also just replaced front and rear brakes, rotors. Then turned around got new tires and was told I needed a front end alignment, done it. Love my car but hate the cost to fix, Ford is expensive. Thank you.

Had been having issues with my 2011 Ford Fusion since early 2015. Each time I put fuel into the vehicle, the vehicle wouldn¿t start ¿ similar to what happens when engine is flooded. Thought it was bad fuel. Ran the fuel tank to nearly empty and refueled. Same issue every time I refuel. Made sure there was nothing blocking the fuel filler cap/flap. Check engine light would go on and off and then stayed on. In sept 2015, took vehicle to a certified mechanic and the error codes (po456 and po104) indicated a problem with the fuel/propulsion system. Replaced purge solenoid. Did not fix the problem. Received recall notice 15s34 in January 2016 related to a defect/safety issue with the fuel system & fuel tank. March 2016 (engine light still on) took vehicle to Ford dealer and explained the problems I¿ve been having and provided bill from mechanic and documentation found of other Ford owners having the same issues. Dealer inspected vehicle & said everything was fine except that I have a leak in my fuel filler neck which is not part of the recall, but they could replace ¿for about $250 or so¿. How is it that this not included in the recall? fuel and fumes leaking from the filler neck are as dangerous as cracks and leaks in the tank. Did some research and this seems to be a common problem that Ford has been made aware of. There is no reasonable explanation as to how I would have cracked the fuel filler neck. The car only has approx. 66k miles on it, was bought brand new in 2010, is regularly serviced and has never been misused. Contacted Ford and was advised that they would "note" my safety concerns in their case (cas-9098523). Nhtsa needs to look into this and force Ford to take corrective measures.

It started out that when I filled up my fuel tank I would try to start the vehicle and it would not start, I would have to try several times then it would start. It then started shaking and idling rough when I came to a stop. Then as I was driving on the interstate it just died. I would pull over and start again then would die. I had to have it towed to dealer and they told me it was the vapor lock that went bad which in turn caused gas to get into my oil. They also stated that this part caused fuel to get into the vapor canister. Research has showed me that several Ford Fusion with the cap less fuel has caused several problems. They have since stated they have upgraded the cap less gas tank but what about the 2010. It ended up costing me 700 for both parts but the issue that caused the problem is still there. Please help. . . . .

The gas tank hisses and the car begins to die when the car is sitting idol. The manual states to shut the car off and relieve the pressure by pushing the cap of where you would put the fuel in this does not fix the issue. When gas is put into the car to refill the tank the car does not start instantly. The ignition cont. To turn over and it takes several times of turning the key to get the car to start. After gas is put in the car the car runs slow the service engine light stays on and the car continues to jerk and die when the car stops for lights or to turn.
One day I fill up tank and "check fuel inlet" comes on so I get out to check it and its cap less. We can not close the cap less because it is cap less. I suggest they lift the gas tank or add a cap because no one wants to keep having to get a smoke test done. For it to only tell you to change the canister purge solenoid.
My 2010 Ford Fusion se v6 flex fuel has quit about six times over the past ten days. The first distressing incident occurred about 9 p. M. On an isolated county road with my 4-year-old grandson in the car. We were traveling about 50 mph when without warning the car stalled & seemed to lose power in the middle of the road. The car quit pulling, a wrench indicator light lit up on the dash, then starting bucking & idling erratically. I pulled onto the shoulder & turned off the key. I retried the ignition & car restarted. After making sure it would continue to run, I pulled back out & continued home. The Ford dealership had just checked this car 3 wks before for "fuel inlet light" issue. Told that the neck of the gas line leaks air/water (car was designed/sold w/out a gas cap which causes that light & check engine to light up). We believed that this was the cause of problem, once again, or perhaps I had gotten some bad gas. We had been to town, added fuel cleaner, filled the tank & had no problems with it. Then my mother-in-law passed away two days later & the car quit out of state on a busy interstate hwy! we almost didn't get it out of the road & acted like it was not going to restart that time. Latest episode was on the way home from funeral (abt 40 mls away), it quit again at 11 p. M. That night. Now we've been informed that throttle body is going out. This is not only outrageous for mileage on it, but incredibly hazardous to me, my family, and other drivers on the road! given the shear number of recorded complaints/incidents (for the same problem) seen here as well as in researching online, Ford should recall these vehicles before someone is seriously hurt or killed. I have been a faithful Ford customer all my life, but I am thinking of trading it in on another make & model altogether! I have just about lost faith and trust in Ford motor company.
Since this vehicle was made with no gas cap my engine light is always on. Any little bit of dirt I drive yet gets into the seal of the gas tank so my engine light pops on and states there is some sort of leak in the system. I can't afford to keep taking it in to pay and arm and a leg for the dealership just to blow out the seal. So my engine light is always on. This is a very dangerous problem because you never know if there is an actual problem with the vehicle or if it's just that dirt in the seal of the gas tank. Big mistake by Ford and they should fix it or they will definitely lose my business. . . Which I've been Ford loyal since I was old enough to drive. I will also deter anyone else I know from buying for just for the capless gas tank feature!!!!!.
