Other Fuel System Tank Mounting Problems of Ford Fusion

Difficult to start after refueling (unaffected by amount of fuel inside tank); intermittentl grunting/vibration sounds coming from fuel tank at random intervals. Happens while parked and while in motion. Car has also had electrical-type humming sound coming from gear knob and dash since I bought it with 36k miles on it.

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the fuel tank leaked fuel underneath the vehicle causing the vehicle to loose a quarter tank of fuel overnight after a fill-up. There was no warning, except that the contact smelled fuel constantly. The vehicle was taken to two dealers, including the riverside autoplex of poteau dealer (918-647-2228, located at 2100 s broadway st, poteau, ok 74953) where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank was defective, caused the leak, and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 159,000. Fe.

When filling fuel tank, the pump "kicked off" prior to a full tank as displayed by digital fuel gauge (just under full). I drove 25 miles and fuel gauge then showed between full and 3/4 tank. There seems to be an inaccuracy with the calibration of the gauge and/or amount of fuel that can be put into tank, with respect to tank capacity, before pump "kick off".
