I purchased the car January 17, 2024, few weeks later the check engine light came on then disappeared, I was also experiencing problems with the seat cooling function, as the touch screen controls was showing that they were both on and it was still winter/rainy season outside. I took the car innto Ford dealer at sanbernardino CA, they told me that most likely it was just a dashboard light malfunction because the diagnostics results came out fine and after researching in other manuals even though the seat cooling function was switched to "on", the car did not come equipped with seat cooling only heated seats. 3 weeks later after taking my car home, the check engine light came on again on y dashboard, I bought an obdii diagnostic tool, the result came back with 2 different powertrain codes that were strictly manufacturer codes. 1st code was p1450 which is defined as unable to bleed gas tank - excessive vaccum. 2nd code was p2196 which is defined by O2 sensor stuck trying to correct 1st code. The p2196 eventually cleared on its own but the p1450 became permanent. I had a diagnostic mechanic take a look at it and he told me the same thing, except that the main culprit is the purge flow valve, which is a recall issue on other Ford Fusions. When I purchased the car, I was showed that the car had no recalls but the "myford" app and ownership didnt transfer to me right away until 30 days after the purchase, which is when it finally let me viewed the cars prior service / maintanance history and even though the car sales lady showed me VIN records where it says there is no recalls and it had no accidents, records that she showed me 30 days prior to me gaining actual ownership thru "my Ford" when purchasing the vehicle. The "my Ford" app states that it seems as if the car was in an accident in the past because almost $8000 went into repairs towards transmission and other main components. California smog check records show that the car has only had 1 test in CA last sept 2023.

Purge valve failure, Ford claims they could not provide the part when requested. (chino hills Ford) saftey was put a risk because according to the current recall for the same year and model of a 2011 Ford Fusion this failure could cause pressure changes and may cause the tank to crack and leak fuel. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition sources increases the risk of a fire. Yes the problem was confirmed by a Ford dealer in chino hills yes it has been inspected by Ford and resulted in a failed evap purge valve test and called for replacement yes the problem caused a p0456 codes which indicated a small leak in the evap system.

Fuel tank is cracked and actively leaking fuel. There was a recall for this issue, clearly it did not fix the problem.
Airbag: took car in for passenger air bag recall, got the car back and now the passenger airbag light not working properly and they want to charge me. It was fine till the recall issue for the passenger airbag. Fuel system: every time I fill my gas tank (I never top off), my car stalls our or bucks. After 40 or so miles it wont do it anymore until I fill up again. I've even had it stall going 40 mph.
My car is leaking fuel. I am unable to pass the smog. I called Ford and they said they already inspected my fuel tank in 2016 and it was fine so they don't have to fix it now. This was recalled. It is effecting my car and they need to repair it. Just because it wasn't happening before doesn't mean they should not be responsible for this problem now that it has happened and my car is affected by this recall. They are refusing to fix it.

My vehicle check engine light came on , scanned it and the code generated was p1450 which is the unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum. This has had a affect on my car while driving it has stalled at high speeds on the highway, and has stalled at lower speeds as well and making a turn . It makes a loud vacuum noise and you can hear the whining or whistling of the pump or hose near the fuel tank under the driver door and under the hood . I looked up similar info on the Ford recall site and seen this recall # 18s32 . So I called my local dealership service department and the informed me that it don't cover my Ford vehicle , but there's a recall for this , so I'm not understanding why it don't apply to my vehicle.

Was driving down interstate and steering quit. Was going straight and managed to continue. Checked and found there were recalls but Ford dealer said it didn't cover my vehicle. Paid $1200. 00 to repair and still have a hard clunk when I steer left or right. Currently driving and heard noise from fuel tank and determined a canister purge valve malfunction. Saw there may be a recall but also haven't found it for my car. Can you update me on possible recalls if any apply?.
1. ) c/s airbag light is on - local dealership found passenger airbag in b pillar is cause - not related to recently completed recall 19s34 on passenger airbag inflater npa1908055946 per dealership. Not sure why the airbag systems in these vehicles are problematic, but the owner should not be responsible for charges for replacement of these problematic parts. Possible new recall needed. 2. ) recall 15v34 relating to leaking canister purge valve - Ford authorized an update to the vehicle powertrain control module calibrations to help prevent pressure cycles in the fuel tank - these calibrations were preformed however the purge valve has still failed. The part 9u5z-9c915-h was originally recommended 4 years ago when the recall was issued but the part was unavailable at the time, on special order. Vehicle owner requested repair / part replacement repeatedly but was told the part remained unavailable and was not an issue with the re-calibration unless the check engine light appeared. The dealership closed the recall without replacing the part - 6 months later the check engine light came on and the cause is the need for a replacement canister purge valve and the owner is now responsible for the repair/replacement costs. Recall should be honored.
I took my car to griffin Ford in tifton GA for the air bags recall and the fuel tank recall. They fixed the air bags but said nothing was wrong with the fuel recall. But I explained to them that the car will burst gas out while pumping and gas leak under the car. They said nothing was wrong with it. I took it the Ford place in turner county and they said it was the canister valve solenoid. But they said it was a recall on it. I'm confused now I got to buy one and pay to have it replaced.
Has problems starting after putting gas in the tank. Check engine light on, mechanic says it's a purge valve. Know alot of other Fusion owners with same problem. Seems to be happening around 40,000 miles. Have to sit at gas station about 10 to 15 min sometimes. Others times just starts rough.

The car shut off randomly and the check engine light came on. I started the car again and it starts. When I fill up, it starts, but it hesitates to turn off again, and sometimes doesn't come back on. It's something to do with the air in the tank due to it being capless. When it comes to the body, the door alert came on 6/12/2020 stating that the foot was open randomly. I was driving to a nearby store going about 20 mph with the doors locked and fully shut.
When fueling the tank vehicle will not stay running. Engine starts and then dies. This goes on up to five minutes then engine stays running with no check engine light on. Check codes there is p1450 stored. Other times it happens after driving and turning engine off and then re starting a few minutes later, sometimes the engine stutters and dies after driving which can be in a parking lot or make to the highway stop at a stop lights which gets really scary when other traffic is around. I look up my VIN for recalls it shows none. It starting happening a while back just once in a while accurrence, now everytime I fill up.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle himself and found fuel on the ground. The contact also discovered that the fuel tank was cracked and the canister purge valve failed. The contact mentioned that the fuel tank was capless. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel tank). The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 126,000.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, there an abnormal (suction) noise coming from the rear where the fuel tank is. The vehicle would shutters when getting fuel for the fuel tank with the check engine light warning light illuminated. The vehicle taken to a indepdnted mechanic who diagnoses the vehicle and determined that the( purge valve, pcv) needed to be replaced. The dealerjenkins & wynne Ford, Honda, & Lincoln 2655 trenton rd, clarksville, TN 37040 (931) 542-4886 was contacted and was informed that no recall was under the VIN. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred multiple times. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that no recall was under her VIN for the issues. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000. Ck.
My 2010 Ford Fusion had the service power steering light come on while driving down the highway, and then the power steering went out and the service advancetrac came on. I called the dealership and even though my car has two open recalls for airbags and fuel tank, along with an extended one on my throttle body, they can't get my car in until next month. I've tried disconnecting the battery terminals, and replaced the battery in hopes that it would reset the computer as the car does not have a power steering pump and is controlled by a computer chip.
After driving my vehicle and I got out, I smelled gasoline. I looked under the car and all around the engine compartment and could not see any leaks. I used a flashlight and a mirror but did not remove any panels. I thought maybe it was just fumes, but the gasoline smell was just as strong after I drove the car the next time. I took it to the dealership and was told that the under body fuel lines just forward of the fuel tank were rusted through and leaking. There is a retaining clip that secures the line and that is where the line was rusted. There was never evidence of a fuel leak other than the smell, because the splash guard that goes under the fuel line was preventing the leak from making it to the ground. I could not smell the gasoline while driving, only after exiting the car.
The vehicle was in motion and check engine light came on. Took to the dealership and they found a pinhole on the top of the fuel tank. There was a recall connection with a part causing the fuel tank to crack. However, I was made to pay for the repairs and Ford will not reimburse me.
Takata recall: the car is stalling while I am in drive, with speeds up to 70 mph. It also will not start after I have put gas in the tank. I have to step on the gas to gwt it to start. The car is also shaking back and forth while in park just trying to stay started. Then it will die. Everytime I come to a stoplight or a stop sign I go through this and have great difficulty starting it back up continuously.
Gas tank makes a loud tapping noise at low speeds when the gas tank is over 3/4 full.
After I fill the gas tank and park my car in the garage, I can smell gas. After the car has been driven a few miles the smell goes away. The smell is only present right after I fill the tank up until the fuel level drops down from full. This only started about 2 months ago but has been present every time the tank has been filled since then. There was a recall for this problem (13s04) so I called my local Ford dealer to try to get it fixed under the recall. The dealer told me that my VIN number is not included in the recall. I am pretty sure this is the same issue that the recall was created to fix so I think that Ford should re-look at what cars they are willing to repair. It seems to me that they easily could have overlooked some cars that had that problem.
Fuel tank crack: NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 safety recall 15s34 this is a known issue for this model however the recall did not include my VIN. The recall included 2. 5 and 3. 0 liter engines mine is 3. 5 liter v6. I am having the exact same issue as the complaint filed may 2,2019. Nhtsa id number: 11205410 vehicle identification number listed in original complaint 3fahp0hg2ar**** if I fill my car above a half of a tank it leaks out all over the place and it leaks whether I'm driving or parked.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the odor of fuel was present inside and outside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that fuel tank was cracked causing fuel to leak from the vehicle and the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer harrison Ford(820 n. Main st. Wellington, OH) and manufacturer were both notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA recall campaign number 15v793000(fuel system) although the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 91,000. Jft.
Canister purge valve failure - check engine light came on while driving. Error code p1450 displays now indicating there is a vacuum issue in my fuel tank we had the vehicle checked in April 2016 when the recall notice came out - the recall was closed with a computer module update to make check engine light come on if valve malfunctions - because there was no visible issue with the valve in 2016 Ford will not honor the recall and fix the malfunctioning part at this time.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. After refueling the vehicle, the contact detected a fuel odor and noticed fuel leaking under the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the top portion of the fuel tank was rusted. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
Every time I fill up the gas tank and I attempt to start the car, the car runs rough and stalls. It takes two or three time of trying to start the car before it will start. It will run rough for a while be it starts running normal.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While the vehicle was at loganville Ford (3460 us 78, loganville, GA 30052) for regular scheduled maintenance, the mechanic found a leak and stated that the fuel tank needed replacement. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: cas-17256003. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 250,000.
If I fill my car above a half of a tank it leaks out all over the place and it leaks wether im driving or parked.
After refueling the vehicle is difficult to start, pumping the accelerator helps but the engine will stall suddenly within a few miles of the fill up. On two occasions I have lost power when driving on a major street with 1/4-1/2 tank of fuel. This stall is preceeded by a loud, disonate noise from the fuel filler. There is www information regarding failed purge valves, but most information is for earlier models. The focus recall seems identical. This is obviously a safety issue and I have taken the caution to stay off the road after fueling till the engine is running smoothly. Codes checked with only one reading coming up -a year ago.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While the vehicle was at a stop, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and stated that the purge valve failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
Smell of gasoline, both when in motion and stationary. Gets worse when fill the tank with gas. The smell improves when I set the cabin air to recycle.
Filled car with gas a couple of weeks after replacing canister purge valve began to smell fuel. I took the car into the dealer on 14 December 2018 for the air bag recall and asked to have the fuel smell checked. The technician told the tank was cracked and needs replacing. He showed me with the car on the rack that fuel was leaking from the top of the tank.
Filled up car w/ gas, car sputtered like it was not getting gas. Car shut off but power stayed on. Tried to start car again, & it sputtered again. I then pushed on accelerator to give gas, and car sputtered as I let off, then died, but still had power. Started car for 3rd time, and it continued to sputter, I pushed on accelerator, and put in drive, and as I drove about 20 meters, the car seemed to still sputter. Once I continued to drive, and get up to 30 to 40 mph, the car ran fine. Car started fine the next few hours, but then in the evening it did it again. I had to put hazards on due to being on a main road and the car would not acellerate and started sputtering again. My check engine light also has came on during this process. I have taken into auto shop and it reads that fuel pressure sensor needs replaced: code p0087 fuel rail/system pressure - too low p2196 02 sensor signal stuck rich bank 1 sensor 1 p1450 unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum. With the vehicle being well maintained and being less than 5 years old, I believe this should be taken in consideration due to being very unsafe to drive due to not knowing when the sputtering of the car will happen.
Car dies while driving on city street or exiting freeway. Cause unknown. Driving the Ford Fusion titanium on city streets results in the car dying while in motion as the speed slows, for instance to make a right or left turn onto another street. When the car dies I have been able to coast to the side of the road, a parking lot, or left turn lane where I have to completely turn off the vehicle and try restarting. Just prior to the car dying a vibrating or revving noise can be heard from the driver's side rear passenger door/gas tank door area. This seems to occur at 55 mph or lower, and especially while decelerating at turns, red lights, or exiting a freeway. I have managed to get out of the way of other cars but this is a very dangerous situation. The occurrence was about once every 4 months until lately the frequency increased to monthly. I have not driven the car since this occurrence on 11/4/2018 as this is too dangerous. The gas tank revving noise serves as about a 3 second warning, which allowed me to take evasive actions. I'm taking it to a Ford dealership.
I was never contacted about any recalls. My mother contacted me through email to see if I knew about the airbag recall. 2 recalls I only learned about today by checking my credit report because the agency that holds the title reported my account for non-payment. I recieved a carfax report when I purchased the vehicle August 2017 from drivetime. I was told there were no recalls on the vehicle. Now, I am seeing 4 recalls, 2 of which (2014 & 2016) have appeared only now that the vehicle is being serviced. I was probably the only idiot in America that would have bought the high-mileage, over-priced vehicle in the 1st place. I was told it had been a fleet vehicle for a rental car agency. I thought I was getting a safe vehicle. But my feeling now, is that it should have never been sold. I'm not sure what to do. The vehicle may get repossessed and I am feeling cheated. I sent the car to the 1st auto body shop and they wanted $1470 for all the repairs. I called Ford motor company, they told me the car could get repaired free of charge at an authorized Ford dealer. I had the car towed to the 2nd shop. The car has been at that dealership since February 1st. My estimate is about $260. I'm not sure what I'm expecting to happen, but I attached a photo of the fuel overflow hose leaking fuel even when the tank was not full. It would do this regularly and that is 1 of the 2 new recalls that appeared. I'm scared to drive this car. I just want some reliable answers and solutions before I shell out any further money on a car that has put me, my family and other people at risk. Please help. Thanks in advance. . . . . . .
