Sun Roof Problems of Ford Fusion

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the sun roof exploded and imploded glass without warning. The glass particles entered the inside of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contact, but did not specify that they would determine the cause of the failure other than having the insurance company cover the repair and for the contact to replace the part. Tl the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle stalled. The check engine light was illuminated. The contact stated that the moon roof failed to open or close as well as the doors failed to open. The contact had to use the window to exit the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer long-lewis Ford Lincoln (2551 john hawkins pkwy, hoover, al 35244, (205) 718-7027) where failure was diagnosed as the moon roof was off track, the paul spring, and throttle body needed to be replaced. This 6 speed manual transmission engine intermittently stalls at or very nearly at a complete stop in neutral gear. The engine stalls more frequently when it's raining. The engine stalls were approximately 20-25 times over 4-5 months. The ignition button, intermittently, doesn't start the car the first time and has to be pushed twice before the engine starts. The fuel light gauge intermittently lights up between 1/4 or 1/8 of a tank, otherwise it lights up when the line is basically at the bottom. Intermittently the sunroof doesn't open or close properly. Sometimes it remains open while at the same time, the interior headliner is actually closed. If you aren't paying attention it is impossible to know the sunroof is actually open because the interior headliner remains closed.

Driving along and the sunroof exploded. Sounded like a gunshot. Glass did not just spiderweb, pieces of glass, including small shards and slivers fell inside the car and into the backseat. Fortunately the car seats had no kids at the time, as there was glass there.

My 2010 Ford Fusion has a power sunroof and one day, when I tried to close the sunroof, it would not close all the way. After inspection, I verified that a piece of plastic had broken off the sunroof rail that is critical to pushing down the automatic wind deflector. The wind deflector stays up and the sunroof runs into it directly, preventing it from closing properly.
