The back up camera has been showing a black screen while the vehicle is in reverse. This has been happening with my vehicle for a few months. Safety of others put at risk because this happens while vehicle s in motion have not taken vehicle to dealership to have it inspected. My vehicle falls outside of scope of recall currently published no warning messages displayed.

When placing the car in reverse the rear backup camera does not show image and will display a black screen or a message the camera is not working and to contact a dealership. Camera worked correctly until Jan 2025. Randomly, the rear backup sensors, while camera shows black screen, will not alert the driver to being object in its path. At other times when the screen is black, the sensor will alert the driver. If you get the "camera not working" message, the rear backup sensors will alert the driver to objects in its path.
Driver side sun visor fell off hinge and was dangling from wire that powers vanity mirror. Plastic part holding it up seems to have fallen off. No screws there. Had to hold it in one hand until I could pull over and figure out how to stow it.
Steering wheel clock spring is not working. Controls wipers, turn signals, speed control, voice commands, lane aware and allows to toggle thru control settings do not work. Ford doesn’t have part available or an eta. This part covers vehicles from 2013 thru 2024 so currently vehicles coming down assembly line are using. My car is unusable like this. Aftermarket part is also unavailable. Please help.

My car has 136,000 miles on it. The vehicle's rear windshield glue failed. I noticed water in the car's trunk the other day thinking it was a cooler not a big deal. Every time a car door closed I kept hearing a weird thud. Driving down the road I would hear a thump from the rear. I thought the spare tire tightened it and that was not it. I closed my car door, looked back, and saw the rear glass lift significantly. I did it again and then looked back and saw the glass lift. I then went back and realized could lift the rear windshield glass. 90% of the top and bottom of the glass glue had failed or was not there anymore. The whole driver's side was not glued. The only thing holding the glass on was the passenger's side of the glass. This is a huge safety issue as the glass could have just flown out at high speeds if I had rolled my windows down or it could have shattered because of vibrations at speeds. You need to investigate the failure of the adhesive used to put on all Ford Fusions and all sedans to see if there should be a forced recall. It was a fluke I found it before the window blew out or just shattered because of a vibration. It could be catastrophic if a rear windshield shatters at high speeds or flies out at high speeds. I have never heard of an adhesive failure like this on a windshield. I think Ford has a huge issue with this problem that has not been investigated. I should never have to worry about my windshield flying out or shattering because it is no longer glued down. Sorry, I did not take pictures of it. It was such a safety concern I went directly to the nearest place and got the windscreen adhesive and fixed it.

I have a problem with the variable speed windshield wipers. This has occurred twice now in the past 2 weeks or so and I paid a little closer attention to the symptoms the second time (yesterday). When the problem occurs, the wipers have only one speed: low. The speed does not increase as the rain gets heavier and you can not increase the speed by switching the selector to high either. So. . . . . As the rain gets heavier, the visibility gets really bad and the only solution seems to be to slow way down, which is not a good thing to suddenly do on a "freeway". I was able to determine if I select off on the wiper control and then turn it back on, the problem (sometimes) goes away and the wipers operate normally. . . . . . . For a while. Of course, turning the wipers off during heavy rain isn't a good thing to do either. I am calling my Ford dealer today to make an appointment for service. Since the condition has been intermittent (so far), I fear that their answer might be "no trouble found" if they can't observe the failure themselves.

The backup camera has been cutting out recently. Just yesterday, the backup camera is displaying an image that is reversed (object on the sidewalk side (right side) of the vehicle, show up on the street side (left side) of the screen). I can no longer use the backup camera, as it is designed. The dealer has a one-month backlog on appointments, but I am taking it to a non-dealership mechanic on Monday. You will notice in the picture attached, the black car shows up on the left side of the screen, and it's actually on the right side of the car.

The back-up safety camera has become at best intermittently functioning, sometimes will not come on at all when the transmission is placed in reverse. When it does come on with reverse, the camera will often cut out in the middle of a backing maneuver while the vehicle is in motion. From the checking I've done online this appears to be a common issue with Ford's back-up cameras, and I am surprised a safety recall is not already in effect, considering these cameras came on the vehicles as required safety equipment.

While driving on PA turnpike westbound, in the rain, my windshield wipers suddenly stopped working. Thankfully, I was in the far left lane and able to pull off to the shoulder safely. Once rain stopped, I was able to take my car to my mechanic. Stated that my cars windshield wiper motors both failed and melted, causing them to stop working.
My back-up camera only half works. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. My car also doesn’t alert me to when I’m getting too close to another vehicle when I backing into a parking spot. Also, the bluetooth in my car has not worked or even connect to my phone since I first bought that car, and for this car to not even be 10 years old yet, this is ridiculous. Everyone I know has been having very similar issues. Y’all need to get it together. Is there anyway this issue can be looked into as well please? it’s be really nice to get to use all of my features I pay for. Love the car, hate this electrical bs. ??.
Windshield wiper motor works and there’s windshield wiper fluid and wind water tank but when you pull the windshield wiper flu lever to disperse clean your windshield nothing comes out taking it to mechanic. He can’t find anything wrong with it fluid go somewhere when you pull the lever except for on the windshield. Don’t know where it goes because you can empty the fluid tank out and not see anything on the ground or on the car.
Wipers stopped working. Had fused checked. Fuse was not the problem. Ford dealer to complete diagnostic testing as no other auto repair shop will fix the issue. There are 22 reports for faulty wipers, wipers not working, Ford refusal to issue a recall. Meanwhile, they issued a recall for pickup truck wiper recall. Obviously, it is possible Ford Fusion titanium 2013 and other vehicles could suffer the same issue(s). The cost is hundreds of dollars and Ford says "OH well. " meanwhile vehicles cost $20,000 + no accountability for faulty parts.
It is a wide-spread issue and commonly known issue that when the car battery is replaced in mercedes-benz vehicles, the climate control stops working, as well as the blower. The safety issues: •car battery needed to be replaced during non-daylight hours during the winter. •climate control stopped working immediately upon battery replacement, and issues with blower arose. •I drove home in the dark, during winter, without the ability to defrost my windows. A quick google search for this issue will uncover an abundance of consumer complaints and common themes regarding this issue.

The drivers side sun visor will fall down in front of my face when I try to adjust it. It will dangle from its wires on the left side (main pivot point). This is very dangerous when it happens while driving. It cannot be put back in its place without stopping the car and repositioning it back in the whole that it fell out of. And it will fall out again when moved. It has happened several times to me and my wife.
My back up camera is blue all time , I saw so many people have the same issue, Ford need to publish a recall on 2016 Ford Fusion as well, they did a recall on other vehicles recently, but not on this 2016 Ford Fusion.
A few weeks ago, the passenger sun vizor in my 2015 Fusion suddenly came part. I have attached photos of the current condition. There is no change in handling as I have just used this as a support for the dashboard sunshade as a protection from the hot arizona sun. Currently the vizor is hanging by its wire (please see photos) and presents a big safety risk from a visibility and handling standpoint (since its just suspending by itself). When I contacted Ford (via twitter), they asked me to take it to a dealer to have it checked. Dealer is asking for $159 inspection fee which is absolutely ridiculous since a problem like this should be inspected and fixed for me (being a safety issue). I request NHTSA to take action by bringing this to Ford and getting them to review this issue for a possible recall. I would also like my vizor to be inspected and repaired as soon as possible.
Driving on highway in a thunderstorm; windshield wipers were on full out max. They did not go fast enough to clear the water from the windshield so I could see the road. After this incident, I went to Ford and told them about it. They inspected it and said the wipers worked as designed. When I told them that was inefficient and unacceptable and a safety hazard for a downpour, they told me to "pull over" if I get caught in a storm. That is unacceptable. It is not always safe to pull over. I should be able to see for at least a half second to tell if I am driving within my lane. I had to drive on the bumper of a truck to follow their lights. I had the 2018 Ford Fusion and the windshield wipers worked properly.
“temporarily lost communication with the climate system” when this appears on the dash, ac won’t turn on, windows won’t roll up or down, defrost doesn’t work, nothing on the dash works except hazard lights, doors won’t lock, can’t adjust mirrors. Happens very sporadically, coincidentally when it starts to get hot (80° and above).
While driving in a light snow storm the windshield wipers stopped working. I tried to push down on the stalk to get them to work once and then tried to push it up to get to a set speed and nothing worked. About 3-5 minutes later they came on, wiped 3 times and then stopped again. This happened 3 times on my 30 minute drive. This intermittent issue could be very dangerous if the storm was worse. I was driving 45 mph.
About a year after owning the vehicle the windshield wipers stopped working properly. It started as an intermittent problem and turned into them not working at all. This has happened after the dealer warranty ran out so naturally they would not accept the issue. They work somewhat now again, but one wiper is halfway up my windshield and the other keeps breaking of assuming becuase they are out of sync with each other. So I have one wiper that is on the driver side that sort of works and this vehicle I am still paying on, so it sucks because I cannot drive it and it won't pass inspection due to this. There are numerous other accounts online about the same issue and Ford seems to ignore it. I just want a reliable vehicle that I'm paying for and so far this Ford Fusion has been nothing but issues.
In heavy rain, the high speed of the wipers is way too slow. . . Making it unsafe to see even when prudence of slowing down and/or possibly considering pulling over. One cannot see safely enough to seek a pull over spot during the immediacy of the situation. . Thus ongoing travel is the only option. Wipers blades are good. Windshield is clean. Rain sheeting / blurring of vision happens because wipers aren't able to move fast enough.
Wiper motors stopped working out of nowhere. I took the vehicle to Ford and they simply want me to pay to replace them. I could not afford at the time and told them to hold off on the repair. They did something for free that caused them to work for another month but are not working again. Ford refuses to investigate this, and sees it as my own personal problem. I see this is a major safety issue that should be looked into.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, the windshield washer and wiper switch was activated however, the windshield washer and wipers were inoperable. The contact stated the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the driver's and passenger's side windshield wiper motors needed to be replaced. An unknown dealer was contacted and informed of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.
When I went out to my parked car in the driveway this morning, all of my windows were down. At first, I had thought that someone had broken into my car, and I looked for broken glass, signs of forced entry, and my belongings to be strewn all over my car. However, there was none of the above. My car was just as it had been when I left it around 7:00 pm the night before, and nothing had even been misplaced from where I had left it. I was completely flummoxed, until I do a google search for 2016 Ford Fusion electrical problems, and saw that there were a number of people that reported various electrical problems with my particular model that resulted in their car's windows rolling down without cause. This is the first time this has happened to me, thankfully, but I can't risk this happening again, especially when there's inclement weather.
Drove a short distance to meet a friend. When I came out to go home my dash lights would not work, door chime and seat presets inoperative. Also determined on the way home that I had no turn signals, window controls, high beams or radio. Looked online to discover that Fords are susceptible to electrical issues. The low key battery warning had been on all day prior to this happening. This is very dangerous as it is winter here and we are expecting rain and snow.
Turn signals suddenly did not function/wipers also non -function - steering wheel button controls - non- function did some internet research and several had the same issue happen - several Ford techs resolved with cycling the high beams on the vehicles- I did the same and resolved the issue as well- this is a safety hazard and fellow Ford Fusion owners need to be alerted this can happen suddenly .
On 02dec2019 while driving during a light snow, wipers on a 2013 Fusion se at 43,595 miles failed to operate, lh wiper stayed vertical, rh wiper returned to park in horizontal position. Vehicle was taken to james Ford in williamson NY where the problem was diagnosed as lh wiper motor failure. Repairs were made at a cost of $550. 93.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving in inclement weather the climate control and windshield defroster became inoperable. The failure also caused the windows to become inoperable. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. Gengras Ford, 225 new britain Ave, plainville, CT 06062, (860)793-8885, was contacted by phone and informed of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38000. Ah.
I don't know if I'm the correct site but I am very concerned with my defroster on my windshield. There are times when I'm driving that the visibility on my windshield is extremely poor; can barely see out of the window. I try many variables to remedy it, ac, heat, high, low etc. Nothing works to remedy and it is very dangerous.
The climate control system shuts off and stays off for long periods of time, meaning there is no functioning air conditioning in vehicle. It's been off for almost a week now for me. It's off when it's stationary or in motion. The problem isn't with the air conditioner itself as it'll sometime come on and remain on for a long duration. The volume knob also becomes inoperable. Some drivers of this vehicle weren't able to operate their windows as well when the climate system shut off so I believe it's faulty wiring somewhere. We already know why this is dangerous. We can die of heat exhaustion especially since I'm experiencing 100 degree weather right now. Secondly, when it rains, the interior fogs up making it nearly impossible to drive. The vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership for this very issue and the problem has not been fixed. Here is a video on youtube showing what this looks like. . Read more...
Issue is with the intermittent wipers not properly working. What I have experienced over the past 2 years include 3 basic items, 2 are issues, one is not: 1) wipers work as needed, intermittent works when needed (auto sensing) or at the interval that would be normal. 2) wipers will be working properly and then just stop, even though it is raining steadily. Only way to get them to start is to turn the wiper switch to another setting. Will not ensure they keep working though. 3) wipers working with proper intermission, then turn on high with little to no rain. Only way to stop is to change the position on the switch. Any of these are random, there is not one instance that causes one of these to happen every time. Biggest concern is obviously the wipers not working in a steady or heavy rain causing visibility concerns. Again, this has been happening for the past couple of years, but most recently happened on July 19.

Driving car one day and turn signals failed to function when preparing to make a turn in town. Checked fuses and bulbs and all were good. Tried the left turn signal and it was not working either. Also noticed wipers and none of the steering wheel controls were operational.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced multiple electrical/computer malfunctions that included the front windshield wipers randomly activating and bouncing up and down. The instrument cluster lights would shut off and the instrument gauges would stop working in addition the steering wheel would become difficult to turn and the vehicle would not immediately start. The cause of the failures were not determined. The local dealer(unknown) was notified of the failures. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 58,000. Jft.
When my right or left blinker is on, my headlights flicker making it hard to see at night.
