Because of Mustangs heavy doors the latch mechanism malfunctioned and the door came open on the highway. I realize the car is old but I have read up on other complaints on Mustangs. The door was fine and within the couple of hours of seeing the problem I was driving 70 on the highway. And I heard the door ding go off and something told me to grab the door. It was all I could do to get back home. Which has now led to other issues like the door sagging and the window is now messed up.

Over the past year, we've had this car into the Ford of clermont florida dealer 5 times about a leak. Whenever we have a storm, the back footwell fills with water. Their leak specialist has said he has found the source of the issue multiple times and after each "repair", we still have a leak. They've replaced the rubber around both side windows and they've asked us to have the front windshield replaced. Even with all of this work, we still have a leak. In the longer term, this could compromise the structural integrity of the car. I don't know what else to do beyond bringing the car back again. I am listing [xxx] as the date the "incident occurred" because this is the latest water breach. But, it's been happening over the past year. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Right after picking up my 2015 Ford Mustang from dealer service on July 23, 2025, the hood suddenly flew open while I was driving, completely blocking my view and creating a serious risk of collision. The dealership had performed multiple recalls and a multi-point inspection but did not flag any hood latch issue. The vehicle was released as “safe to drive,” yet this happened immediately after leaving their service. This was an extremely dangerous situation that could have caused a serious accident. The force of the hood flying up also caused major damage to the hood and surrounding components. The dealership took the car back and even offered me a rental, but they are refusing to take responsibility or repair the damage, claiming they are not at fault. I am reporting this because it is a serious safety issue and I want to ensure it is properly investigated to prevent similar incidents. I am also requesting that the dealer or manufacturer repair the damage or reimburse me for the cost to fix it, as this was caused immediately after their service.

While driving 45mph, my passenger door suddenly opened, and I received a notification on my car's dashboard warning me that the door had opened. When it was safe to pull over, I was able to shut the door but this has been the second time this has occurred, the first being about 2 months earlier while I was driving on the free way going 65mph. This is very dangerous since if my door opened while I was driving, my belongings could fall out of my car while driving, my passenger would be put at risk, and my door could potentially hit another car next to me. Ultimately, my passenger door's lock failed and it is available for inspection upon request. The door failing to stay locked while driving put me and my passenger at risk. The vehicle has not been inspected since I looked online and many others with my car have this issue, but Ford requires hundreds of dollars just to inspect which I can not afford right now. There was a warning sign on my car's dashboard that my passenger door opened while I was driving.

Passenger door opens consistently when hitting bumps in the road. Door ajar warning comes on instantly and car beeps.
Subject: request for investigation - fraudulent and falsified vehicle records (crest Ford & roy o'brien Ford, possible involvement of bell Ford) dear attorney general, I am submitting this complaint to formally request an investigation into fraud committed by roy o'brien, an automobile dealership located in michigan. On [xxx], 1 purchased a 2024 dark horse Mustang #r8911 from roy o'brien under the representation that the vehicle was brand new, undamaged, and met all safety standards. After the sale, I obtained evidence that the vehicle had, in fact, been in an accident during transport and subsequently altered and resold without disclosure. This constitutes misrepresentation and consumer fraud under michigan law. Specifically: • the dealership and its employees knowingly concealed the accident and subsequent alterations. • the vehicle was sold as "factory new," despite being materially compromised in safety and integrity. • I paid full market value under false pretenses, believing the vehicle to be undamaged and original. I have retained documentation, communications, and repair evidence that substantiate this fraud, including proof that dealership personnel were aware of the accident. I am prepared to provide all supporting records for your review. This misconduct not only caused me financial harm but also created a serious public safety risk, as the vehicle does not meet proper safety standards. I respectfully request that your office investigate this matter for potential violations of michigan's consumer protection act and any applicable fraud statutes. Please advise me on next steps and whether additional information is required. I am willing to fully cooperate with your investigation. 1. The vehicle had been in an accident during transport prior to sale. 2. Crest Ford appears to have falsely documented services that were never performed, in an effort to disguise the vehicle's accident history and damage. 3. These falsified service records were used to conspire. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom o.

Passenger door unlatches and opens on its own at highway speed.
Ford did issue a recall for several issues for my car, including but not limited to, problems when filling gas tank with evaporative purge system as well as cavitation of the fuel pump in high heat conditions, the doors not closing all the way or handles remaining open( not flush with rest of door) when door is shut, driver's side door trim/bezel around power window switch making buzzing sounds when stereo is in use, as well as ticking sounds coming from motor during operation and various creaks and sounds from front suspension when cornering and going over uneven terrain, and the transmission, the 5r55s, has the known hard shift into gear caused by bad servo. I have reached out to the dealers in my area regarding these issues and even though my car is the correct model and year for the service recall bulletins and has the exact issues described there in, I am told that the VIN on my car is not covered even though it is clearly suffering from equipment that exhibits all the same problems listed in the recall. I feel the responsibility to perform and pay for these repairs should fall on the manufacturer, not I, the customer.

When the car is going 70+ mph the doors will unlatch and open if they are not held shut. This was a recall on earlier models but not the 2019.

My door pops open while driving. You can hear it and the dash lights up that the door is ajar. Have to pull over and open and close the door. This has happened multiple times during various speeds and road conditions. Ford has recalled the door latches on the years prior but this year is not included. It has been occurring for over a year about 3 times a month.
An issue occurred with the passenger door latch. The passenger door of my vehicle unlatched to a secondary latching position at a speed of 70 mph, causing wind to rush in around the closed window and the door open indicator light and chime to activate. The door had been securely shut at a rest area 30 minutes prior to the incident. Although the subject of customer satisfaction program 21n10, which requires the owner to pay a diagnostic fee to confirm an issue with the latches, Ford has not acknowledged this door latch issue via a safety recall.
This is a 2024 Mustang convertible that I purchased from autonation in panama city and the back window was not properly installed and is now shaking and allowing water into the car. There is a major problem with the car disabling abs as well and ive taken it to the dealership for both of these issues twice. The brakes did not function correctly when I was dropping off at school and I tapped the parents car in front of me. I went to autonation with my concern and even called Ford to file a complaint and neither of the companies took it seriously. Had I known this car was gonna be a problem and even more difficult to fix (autonation doesnt work on convertible tops and has given me the run around about finding someone to fix the top) I would have kept my older convertible. I also purchased an extended warranty when I bought this car to ensure everything was protected.
The passenger side door keeps unlatching itself. So, when I am driving on a street, I will sometimes occasionally get "passenger side door ajar" warning message that pops up on my dash, and sure enough, the door is open. I have to lean over and quickly slam it shut. I've noticed this happens particularly when driving on a bumpier road. I know there has been similar recalls for this same problem on the driver side door that was mentioned on - NHTSA campaign number: 17v168000.
While driving at about 75mph the passenger door unlocked and opened by itself. We got an door not closed warning light on the dash and the warning chime in addition the horn was blowing in intervals of 2 quick beeps and repeated until we were able to pull over and reclose the door. About 1 hour later same conditions the same thing happened on the drivers side. We have since discovered from the dealer that here is a campaign number of 21n10 for this issue. Holiman Ford of maple shade NJ took the car in right away.

Passenger side door is unlatched by itself while driving on highway. It was empty so I am sure it opened itself.
Body panels are misaligned. Doors do not line up to the body, bumpers don’t line up to quarter fender, trunk lid has large gaps preventing proper sealing, hood has gaps and vibrates at high speeds.
Passenger door comes ajar while driving down the road. I was not leaning against the door and while I was driving the door became ajar enough so that wind was flowing as if the door was cracked open.
Component failed: driver side door latch safety put at risk: door could open while car was in motion making driver vulnerable to an accident or exposure of driver to road conditions has the problem been confirmed: manufacture Ford has a safety recalls 15s16 and 16s30 for the problem component has been inspected by Ford dealer ship. Both drive and passenger door latches were replaced. Were there any warnings before hand: no. Under recall 15s16 and 16s30 2015 Ford Mustang vehicles built at flat rock assembly plant, Feb. 14, 2014, to April 30, 2015 were included for the door latch failures. My car was built in sept of 2015 yet experienced the same issue. I was charged for the door latch replacement when the car should have included in the recall.

Cars passener side front and the back floor was flooded with water after heavy rain. Window was not left open as the seats are completly dry . There seems to be a sound of a puddle coming from the right side of the car as well whenever it rains. I poured water on top of the car to find a visual leak but didnt see water leaking inside .
It stolen.
Passenger door became partially unlatched while driving at highway speed over rough pavement. This is the second time this has occurred. Both times the dashboard warning light came on to let us know it was unlatched, but we are certain that it was completely closed when initially getting into vehicle. Online q&a sites confirm multiple others with this experience and no recalls or TSB to this date.
The passenger door opens on it's own while in motion. I am afraid my passenger will fall out of the car. The dealership will do nothing since they can not spontaneously make it happen in the short ride they take it on. This happens on a weekly basis. Been happening now for at least 2 years.
Passenger door came unlatched on the highway going approximately 70 mph once on 10/6/2023 and again the next day on 10/7/2023. First, the driver heard the door click and then hear wind and then the door ajar alert sounded on the dashboard.
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, gravel, rocks, and debris became trapped in the square holes in the inner wheel well. The contact noticed that the wheel well liner and under carriage were corroded. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 350.
I recently purchased this Ford Mustang 2016 from a used car dealer and while driving this car couple of times we noticed that the car door got unlatched while driving, it doesn't happen all the time but it happened twice so I started researching and found out that there was a recall for this model but I could get the appointment immediately so by the time I was able to get the appointment the dealer says the recall is expired. I called the dealer in September of 2023 but I got the appointment on October 9th of 2023. Dealer says recall expired on September 30th 2023. I didn't know that recall's expire at certain period. Please help us so we can drive safe.
While traveling about 70 to 75 mph the passenger side door unlatched and several minutes later the driver side door unlocked the door is a jar alert showed on the dashboard this happened twice.
The Mustang window is supposed to retract approximately 1/2" when the door is opened or shut. My vehicle does this but the window will not return to the fully closed position when the door is shut. This is a safety hazzard as the window tries to fully close but then goes down a 1/2" and returns to fully closed repeatedly while I am driving; this leads to driver distraction on the road, a very hazardous situation. It also leaves the vehicle vulnerable to theft as with the window 1/2" down it is very easy for a thief to stick in a wire and activate the automatic door unlocks.
My door latches fail to secure door and it went open while the vehicle was being driven. It happened in a long distance trip around 6-8 times. Both driver and passenger doors were opening while driving on the high speed.
Passenger door suddenly opens at highway speed (over 70 mph), requiring very dangerous manoeuvres to stop and close it again. This happened 6 times in 4 hours of travel.
The driver side fills with water during heavy rain. This is not due to a leak in the convertible top or any window seals. The water is coming from below. The water is at risk of causing rust build up, electrical malfunction, and mold growth. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer or independent service center, every time I bring it up they say they don't cover leaks so I have yet to be able to get it checked out. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the the first appearance. This has happened numerous times since 6/17/2023.
While on the freeway, my passenger door unlatches and opens. The warning indicator goes off that a door is open and it is free from the locking mechanism, requiring the door be opened and pulled closed while in motion. The door has done this repeatedly for over a year. Most recently, it opened and almost hit another vehicle on the road. This is incredibly dangerous and a panic inducing concern that occurs with no advanced notice. The door has been checked and verified as securely fastened before departing every trip and it still happens.
My clutch pedal went out before a moth of ower ship, my transmission 3rd gear went out before a month of owner ship, my bumper second time flying off on me 2nd month of owner ship.
