Water leak issue coming from the windshield and cowl area leaking into the passenger side compartment shorting out the Smart junction box causing the gauges and all electrical to go haywire such as the headlight to go out while driving and the traction control to turn off as well as the windows and power locks to quit working and could cause an electrical fire inside the care if gone un noticed. I have the vehicle in the shop and this is going to cost me $600 or more due to Fords knowing of an issue they will not own up to fix to ensure safety.

My 2007 Ford Mustang has had a water leak under the passenger side area that has and is still causing electrical shortage in the car. Everytime it rains water gets into the vehicle and causes major damage. Ford dealership will not repair it under warranty and my out of pocket expenses to fix this problem would be enormous. This water leak is a TSB on Ford's site which means they know something is wrong with the 05-09 models. My car is now out of commision and will not start. I have replaced two batteries over the last year because of the water leak causing shortages in my car. This car is now a lemon beccause of the severe water damage Ford has caused my vehicle to receive. I have a vehicle that will not start and Ford will not repair without payment. I am sending this complaint so that a recall can be issused so I can repair my car. Ford knows there is a major problem and has done nothing about this. This is a $35,000 vehicle and only 5 years old and the engine won't even start. This issue is a major electrical hazard and is a danger to myself and my children.

My 2007 Ford Mustang started to leak last year 2011 every time it rains, water pours from under the glove box. You can be driving or in park and the water just continually runs. Now my Mustang has had electrical issues and reaks of mold and the car is now completely ruined because of this leak. Ford will not recognize this as a recall so we are forced to pay because it is not under warranty any longer. This car is now a lemon because Ford did not build this car correctly. This car is not even paid off yet and is now considered junk. Ford will not help us get what we are paying for I did not buy a new car to have it ruined within four years because it was not built correctly.
First thing that happened with my car was the two inches of water it started taking in every time it rains. Then the rpm gauge and speedometer went; never can tell how fast I am going (real safe). Next went the gas and temp gauges. Now it rained again a few days ago (12/2012) and I have no working locks, windows, radio or headlights along with water in my floorboard. Ford needs to fix these problems that the 2005 Mustang has with it. These are not safe driving conditions and it looks like I am not the only one with these problems. I will not pay $3000 to fix their mistake. I will spend that money on a lawyer against Ford before I pay for their mistake. They need to do a recall and fix this. I had to get my car towed last night because I had no headlights. The tow truck driver said that my car was the fourth Mustang he had to tow that night!!!.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that after engine startup, water was seen leaking from the dash board area. The contact owns a 2005 Ford Mustang. The contact attempted to start the vehicle but it would not start. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the mechanic stated that water had damaged the electrical system and the computer system, which would need replacing. The contact had previously noticed water leaking from under the passenger side seat onto the passenger's feet. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 81,536.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that water was entering the vehicle through the dashboard on the passenger side. As a result, the water caused electrical failures. The vehicle had not been inspected by a dealer, nor had it been repaired. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 18,800.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford Mustang gt. The contact stated that whenever it would rain, water would leak into the vehicle from the passenger side into the rear seat. 2007 Ford Mustang v6 has water leaking from underneath passenger dash. After inspection water was seen dripping rapidly from climate control fan box onto exposed electrical wire connections. Only happens when it rains and water can be heard splashing within fan box when driving. Ford issued a TSB but water dripping on exposed electric can cause risk of short and fire.
After several miles uphill, the vehicle had begun to travel downhill. After less than one mile, the steering was unresponsive; driver's input assumed hydraulic response. There was none. The vehicle hit the side of a mountain; very narrow shoulder didn't allow for error. The car overturned. The 'black box' located in the steering wheel collects a volume of data except one important fact: steering wheel angle. The steering wheel was positioned to miss the mountain but not to enter the on-coming lane. The steering didn't react. Why was this essential data not recorded when many other trivial computations are present? I believe Ford understands the potential problem and omits the steering wheel angle because of liability. The vehicle was rented from hertz. They failed to advise the customer of the slow response of electronic steering. Second: passenger seat belt is positioned high and the headrest protrudes, making an occupant of average size 'slouch' to avoid the uncomfortable strap. Regardless, the seat belt travels along the passenger's neck and tightens when the vehicle overturns. The 'accident' caused an 85% carotid artery dissection. My wife spent 10 days in a trauma center because of this horribly positioned seat belt and unresponsive steering. A friend who has a doctorate in nursing advised us during the hospitalization. She recently rented a Mustang and was worried when the strap bisected her throat. Go sit in one! it's all the evidence you need. Ford motor company will do nothing until they are presented with legal papers. I have formally notified them to no avail. They don't care. They just keep building them.

I purchased in 2007 a 2005 Ford Mustang. After the downpouring of rain on Wednesday 9/29 night and Thursday 9/30 morning I experienced water pouring into my 2005 Ford Mustang vehicle when on my way to work under the dash board and in close proximity of the fuse panel on the passenger foot well. I was on the internet and found that there has been other 2005 Mustangs experiencing the same systems. This should be considered a recall.
Convertible top failure at 28,000 miles. Car is not safe to operate on highways after convertible top failure. Common problem on 2005 Mustangs. Top becomes stuck at half up position. This obstructs vision in rear-view mirror, making it impossible to change lanes safely.
Water leak on passenger side under dash, soaking carpet, 1st incident but after investigating further I am not the only one, could lead to electrical failure. Why isn't it required to supply the purchaser of vehicle any TSB that has been issued for said vehicle. I could have possibly prevented this if I had been made aware of the potential problem. The release of any TSB should be mandatory!!!!.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that there was a water leak above the fuse box on the passenger side under the glove compartment. She noticed the leak whenever it rained. She heard a dripping noise when she was accelerating and noticed that the water was leaking onto the floorboard. She has not taken the vehicle to the dealer prior to filing the complaint. She called the manufacturer but was told that they could not assist her. The current mileage was approximately 37,800. The failure mileage was approximately 37,760. Updated 02/13/10 updated 02/16/10. Updated 2/17/10 the consumer stated the warranty has expired. Updated 02/22/10.
Many Ford Mustangs 2005-2009 are experiencing water leaks. The water drains from the bottom of the passenger side dashboard onto the passenger's feet. During rain storms, the water saturates the rug area unless you have a towel. Under the dashboard, wet wires can be seen. For some reason, Ford will not issue a recall even though there is a 2006 TSB on this very issue. To stop the "flood", consumers are forced to pay for the repairs out of their own pocket. Please search the internet to read all the complaints. The few Mustangs owners who do not experience this problem tend to garage the cars and only drive them in nice weather. Please hold Ford accountable for this obvious manufacturing defect by forcing a recall and 100% reimbursement for those who already paid to fix the problem. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Mustang. After it rained or was taken through a car wash, water would flood the vehicle. She took the vehicle to the dealership on three occasions and the vehicle was sealed with silicone, and the carpets and windshield were replaced twice. The sealants around the window, the firewall, the rear well, passenger door trim panel and many other parts of the vehicle were common places of water intrusion. The manufacturer sent a service engineer to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was sealed. None of the repairs have remedied the failure. The current mileage was approximately 21,500. The failure mileage was 21,273. Updated 01/25/10 upadted 01/26/10.
When driving my 2006 v6 Ford Mustang in the rain, pints of water began pouring into the passenger side in a stream. I stopped and tried to determine the source and could not. Turns out many Mustangs have this problem and Ford has released a TSB but has not extended warranty coverage, so it's going to cost me an arm and a leg. But the car would be absolutely ruined without fixing it. A car you can't drive in the rain!.
I am the original owner of a new 05 Ford Mustang gt, in the state of nh purchased from tilton Ford. I have become aware that the aluminum hood is oxidizing and the paint is therefore separating from the metal. The resulting damage on the hood is paint falling away, exposing the aluminum. This should not be occurring on an aircraft or a properly painted auto such as mine. I have pursued this problem with my local Ford dealership and Ford via the customer service line; both tell me this is not a problem and there is nothing we can do. First, I have only owned Ford vehicles- mostly new and can prove this should it matter as a loyal client. Second, I have kept my vehicle in excellent condition and have pictures to prove this claim. Third, the only paint issue is on the aluminum hood, not other sections of the vehicle. I have done plenty of research and have several estimates and even spoke to an aircraft person who agrees, this should not happen, Ford should take care of this. I desire a response which will address this concern, be it pictures from a dealership as part of an estimate to repair the defect of my aluminum hood or its replacement. As a loyal Ford customer and advocate, it seems good business to sincerely address this issue and work with me in the repair of what is clearly a Ford issue as it relates to the use of aluminum as a metal and its subsequent painting as a hood on the Mustang. The resulting damage on my vehicles hood is not chipping and does not fall under normal wear or a result of use/time but the oxidation and loss of paint on my hood as a direct result of manufacture/design. I am very disappointed in the response from a company that I thought cared and produced high quality products both at the local and national level. I await a prompt and satisfactory response and will pursue all means necessary to achieve what is simply right.
I have experienced on several occasions water pouring into the vehicle under the dash board and in close proximity to the fuse panel on the passenger foot well. The dealer has indicated that the air intake to the cabin air unit is also connected the drain lines that drain water from the hood cowl. When debris from trees, bushes and shrubs finds it's way onto the hood cowl it gets into the drain lines (due to poor design and lack of any type of filter) with any rain. The rain washes debris into the drain lines which then backs up as the line fills into the cabin air unit. My dealer has told me the best way to prevent this from happening is to not park under trees. They did not tell me that when I bought the car. An internet search shows many people with a similar problem on the model year and later years. A TSB exists on this problem.
The clear coat is bubbling and peeling on the front right fender, on top.

Convertible top leaks and floods passenger side of vehicle.
2008 Ford Mustang gt, purchased on 25 July 2008
purchased new vehicle on 25 July 2008. First water damage was on 5 sept 2008, the car held approx. 3 inches of rain water on passenger side. Dealership claimed that they found that the windshield was not properly sealed around the windshield wiper, however, my print out from them shows where they paid "mr. Vinyl" $125. 00 for cleaning up the water damage. Ford dealership and Ford customer relations denied my request for new interior carpet. This new vehicle has 1,900 miles on it. Again on 26 sept 08, the interior passenger floor of car filled with water. Today is 29 sept and I still do not have my vehicle back. I am concerned with future electrical problems which could occur from this. This defect could substantially impair the use, value, or safety of my vehicle and I am concerned with future problems that may occur from this. .

My 2007 Ford Mustang has leaked from underneath the passenger side glovebox since I bought it from carmax in 2008. I took it back but leaks were not covered under warrany. Did not realize this was a common issue. Now my computer sensors have water damage issues I believe and it is causing me to fail emissions.
1. Beginning at approximately April, 2008, my 2005 Ford Mustang gt began to leak water inside the cabin in the passenger footwell whenever it rained hard or snowed. 2. The failure is a grommet that clogs up underneath the cabin air filter. It's very difficult to reach unless you're a certified mechanic. 3. The Ford dealer has cleared out the area around the grommet, but it is a constantly recurring problem that Ford has issued a TSB for, but they haven't issued a recall for since it usually happens after the warranty expires. I don't think it's fair to make customers pay for a problem like this that Ford has known about since 2005.
Whenever it rains my 05' Mustang cv accumulates about an inch of water on the passenger side and it takes forever to dry out. The cv top is brand new and does not leak as far as I can tell. I've seen other people complain about this on a few different blogs online. What's the deal?.
There were grommets left off my car when it was manufactured and now my car is full of mold/mold spores, my grandson and I ride in the vehicle every day and for the past month my grandson and I have been sick and not known why. Evidently Ford knew this could be a problem, we took the car to a dealership and they said mold was in the padding of my car and would have to be dehumidified and sanitized, new padding and the carpet cleaned, I just hope it is all out. We ask for the article from Ford that states this problem could affect Mustangs from 2005-2008. I just wonder how many other people will have this type of problem and why it was not on recall, so this problem could have been prevented. I have just recently taken my car to the dealership, as we have just started smelling the mold, no telling how long it was there before. February 14 is the day we took the car to the dealership. Now I am afraid to drive the car due to the mold, and breathing the mold spores.
2005 Mustang convertible top failure. No prior warning of failure. I took it the the Ford dealer in lugof, SC (james ervin Ford) to seek repair. Dealer said they did not repair failed convertible tops, I should take it to a body shop. I explained that the top had failed after just 42. 000 miles on the car and that Ford had issued 2 TSB. They did not investigate the TSB and refused repair.
I have a 2000 Ford Mustang gt. The paint all over the car is cracking like an eggshell. I called Ford and of course they said the warranty is expired and they wonder why all their sales are dropping.

I was driving about 55mph and heard a beep, looked in the dash and saw the engine went into a "fail safe mode". The car slowed down and jerked and slowed down quite a bit. Went to the dealership and could'nt find anything wrong w/ it. It started happening more often, so finally found a mechanic that was able to diagnose and fix the problem for $800. I saw in the paper that a few toyotas had this problem and wanted to let you know it happened on a new Ford Mustang as well. Also, whenever it rains, (the same car) leaks water into and puddles up under the passenger's seat. This has been a problem from the beginning of purchase. I don't drive this car in the rain because of this. I have talked to other Mustang owners at the oil change facility, and they said they have the same problem. I really don't understand why there has not been a coulpe of recalls on the 2005 Mustang gt. I waited a long time to get my dream car and paid a lot of money for it. If I'm not the only one having this problem, I would think the Ford company should take responsibilty and fix the problems.
