Paint has started chipping away from around the rear windshield. Started chipping away at 36,000 miles. When I finally noticed I took it to service and they said I was out of bumper to bumper warranty. Nothing could be done. I checked online forums and this is a common issue with the 2017 grabber blue Mustang .

My car is garaged year round to include 6 months totally garaged. It has 28,800 miles. While getting out the beginning of may 2019 for the first time since oct, 2018. I noticed paint bubbling up on the hood. The car was 4 years old in April, this was spotted in may. Called Ford CO. They said they had a 3 year/36,000 mile policy for the paint. With further investigation thru a relative who works for Ford dealership in mi. He said Ford has known about the problem for a few years. He said it was either inferior material, or the prep work that caused the bubbling. He also said up to 2015 it was 3yrs. /36,000 miles. After 2015 they figured out the problem and changed the policy to 5yrs. /unlimited miles. I talked to a person that had a 2016 Mustang gt, and asked if had paint issues and said yes on the hood. He showed me, and it was in the exact same spot as mine!!! mine was estimated at $2577. 73, supposedly Ford said they would pay $768. 00, and they have to replace the whole hood!! so, yes, they knew about the problem!! I didn't do anything to cause this. If I did I would take full responsibility for it, but Ford screwed up and should fix all of it at their expense. I have photos of my car, and the 2016 that I talked with, but they are my phone and I can't send them because I'm on my laptop, and don't have on it.

I've notice after a few months of washing my car I've noticed my back bumper paint bubbling up. Almost as if it was melting. And my driver seat stitching just started unstitching. Car has 35k miles.
After driving and washing my car for a few months I've noticed that my rear end bumper paint was bubbling up almost as if it wanted to melt. A few weeks ago I got stranded at the gas station because my car wouldn't turn on. It completely died, randomly. I needed a jump. Just recently I noticed my driver seat stitching was unstitching. My vehicle only has 35k miles.
Clear coat finish on trunk panel began peeling when car 3 1/2 years old. Aluminum hood corrosion at almost 5 years old paint is bubbling at the front edge of aluminum hood. Apparently when being painted the aluminum hood was contaminated with steel particles which Ford knew at the time of manufacture would cause corrosion and paint peeling but did nothing to try to correct the metal contamination when vehicles were painted so now at 24,800 miles the hood is corroding and paint is bubbling and peeling. I paid alot of money for this car Mustang v6 pony package and to have to deal with hood corrosion and peeling paint on this car is ridiculous and shameful that Ford will not cover this damage. I have bought Ford vehicles my whole life but I will never ever buy a Ford vehicle again.

Hood paint corrosion. Like a large amount of other people, my hood paint is bubbling with 87k miles on my car. I maintain my car very well and is in very good shape. I contacted Ford and I was told it would be submitted to their claims department and I have no heard back. It's been serval months. Ford knows about the issue but won't cover their manufacturing mess up.
The last two Mustangs I purchased (both were new cars) developed electrical issues after the warranty expired. My current 2011 Mustang has had numerous electrical issues within the cabin of the car. In addition to the electrical issues, the hood developed problems with the paint such as bubbling, peeling and rusting. My frustration with Ford grows more intense each time the air-conditioner, along with numerous other devices associated with the dashboard, quits operating and the windows will not function. I often find myself encountering this issue on a ninety plus degree day. The electrical issue can occur when moving or at a complete stop. There is no pattern to when it happens, or which electrical items will quit functioning. It does happen more often with warmer temperatures and the air-conditioner is in use. However, it also occurs when the air-conditioner is not in use.

There is no reason for Ford not to cover this repair/replacement of my hood. The paint is lifting off of the hood due to corrosion under the paint by manufacturer defect on the assembly line.
The entire front of the hood has paint that is bubbling up and at certain points the paint has chipped off to reveal corrosion and what looks like rust.
Paint is bubbling on front lip of hood. There is also a small spot on the roof but unknown if it is related to the problem. Hood is made of aluminum and Ford apparently knows of the problem since they issued a TSB in 2004 on this very subject. They won't cover the fix because of mileage but this has nothing to do with mileage. This was caused by iron contamination at the factory before the car was painted.
The paint is blistering on the hood. There is no damage. This is a known problem. Ford has issued as service bulletin affecting a number of models and years. A class action law suit has been filed.
I noticed a year and a half ago the paint on the hood was bubbling up so I went to 2 dealerships and asked what can be done. Both said nothing. It has to rust before something can be done. Now, half of the front of the hood's paint has bubbled up and peeled off. This cheap paint issue should be a recall for Ford.
On March 27, 2015, I brought my mustand to Ford because I discovered on the hood of my car, that the paint was bubbling/coming apart from the hood. On April 7, 2015, the Ford dealer repainted my hood. Then, I noticed again but this time, in more than one area of my hood that the paint was lifting off of the hood. I returned to the dealership and contacted Ford motor company but they were reluctant to replace the hood or repaint at no cost. My major concern is that I brought the vehicle in during the "warranty period" as in the manual however, this problem was not corrected since it returned again.

Factory contamination on hood. Causing the paint to bubble due to hood corrosion.

After washing my car, I noticed that the paint around the front of the hood was bubbling. I took it to my dealer and they said that the hood is aluminum and the paint has been known to bubble and will eventually start to flake off. Ford has not done anything about it. The only way to fix it would be to replace the hood. This is happening all along the front edge of the hood at this time. My car has 44,000 miles on it, is not driven in the winter and garaged almost every night. It reminds me of the 1989 Mustang I had that Ford ended up having to repaint because of the bad primer. Please make Ford offer a recall on this. After checking their warranty guide, it states that "your vehicle’s body sheet metal panels are covered for an extended corrosion coverage period, which lasts for five years, regardless of miles driven. The extended warranty coverage only applies if a body sheet metal panel becomes perforated due to corrosion during normal use due to a manufacturing defect in factory-supplied materials or factory workmanship. " my dealer said their has to be a hole in the hood in order for Ford to do anything about it.

Paint is bubbling and chipping on top of hood and underneath from poor design. Water has no place to go resulting in corrosion to paint.

Major corrosion issue on all aluminum hoods 2004 to 2015. Mine is a 2013 and it looks like rust under the paint but its corrosion that Ford refuses to cover under bumper to bumper warrantee.
My Mustang is only 6 years old, mint condition, only 21,800 miles on it currently. Paint is bubbling on the hood, about to start peeling off. After researching this today, I've learned that this is apparently a problem on multiple Ford models, including and beyond the Mustang, and spanning many model years. I understand that Ford is aware of this problem and has issued at least one TSB on it, if not more, yet continues to knowingly sell these vehicles with defective paint jobs on them, causing their customers financial loss in having to repaint the vehicle in as few as 3 years after purchasing. Due to the corrosive nature, this is an extraordinarily intricate process to repaint these and requires special processes and Ford is refusing to fix these vehicles even though they created the problem. It sounds like there is one lawsuit in progress but it only goes up to 2007 models I think, but apparently there are many vehicles beyond that year that have the same problem. I read "Ford used aluminum hoods but failed to properly insulate them from prior model year iron-based connecting and supporting parts, despite knowing that would give rise to galvanic coupling and corrosion" for a more technical answer. Also I found "what is interesting to note about this issue is that Ford actually wrote a technical service bulletin (TSB) and sent it out to all of its dealers in 2004 outlining the issues with the hoods and how to repair them properly, even though they deny all wrong doing or that an issue even exists - but it is pretty hard to ignore that an issue exists when a simple google search of ¿mustang hood problems¿ or "Ford paint problems" will bring up forum after forum of Mustang owners complaining about this issue". I also read a post that another TSB went out after the first one that includes all models up to 2016! please help us!.

Noticed while washing my car that the paint on my 2012 Mustang was blistered on the hood . Searched the internet to see if there was a recall or other people that experienced the same thing and to my dismay found that there is an issue with paint blistering and aluminum corrosion on the Mustangs. I have 45,000 miles on my car and have surpassed the bumper to bumper warranty. I talked to a local dealer and asked if this is considered under the corrosion warranty and he said the car has to be eaten clear through before they consider under that part of the warranty. Understand that there was a technical service bulletin that Ford sent to their dealers detailing the aluminum corrosion & paint blistering problem and how to service it. Ford needs to step up to the plate and take care of their customers.
Paint bubbling on hood, appears to be a common problem, as I had same issue on my 07.
I own a 2006 Ford Mustang gt - the paint on the hood has started to bubble. My for dealer said it's a common issue due to iron contamination of the aluminum panel. I take great care of my car and feel Ford should pay to fix this problem.
Takata recall ///paint peeling and bulbing.
Hood paint bubbling and corotion.
Hood paint is bubbling, corroding, and chipping off.
I purchased a used 2007 Ford Mustang shelby gt with 15k miles. There were 3 spots on the hood where paint had bubbled. A local body shop said the problem was that steel rivets had been used to secure the hood pin disks to the hood and one spot at the air scoop; aluminum rivets should have been used.
Car has a long crank time, before the engine starts. Causing ware on starter and flywheel making a noisy start. The hood has paint bubbles on the front right side and now at 70k miles needs a repaint. Car would stall at the stop light, or would not go when the light turned green or making a u-turn. Intermitinly check engine light would come on for a cam position sensor. Car at 70k miles, wont pass an emission inspection. Car value, with known paint problem is decreased. Dealer wants $400 to fix hood spot another $200 to look at transmission, $110 to look at the cam sensor issue. My last new Ford!.
My car has had galvanic action on the hood twice in less then a year. No accident, but the paint bubbles and splits on the front edge of the hood in several places. An electric current apparently occurs between the aluminum hood and the steel bolts that connect it to the hood hinge mechanism. Ford has repainted the hood twice under warranty, but now say the problem wont be covered again. They have not solved the problem. As you may know, his problem is currently being deposed for a class action lawsuit for cars up to 2006. Please consider forcing Ford to recall all vehicles (mine is a 2011) affected by this problem.
