Paint Problems of Ford Mustang - part 2

Front hood has paint peeling issue within 2 years of purchase. Auto trans doesn't shift properly in at least 1 of the first 3 gears. It bucks when cold in winter weather until car warms for at least 30 minutes. . Ford has had the car on 3 occasions without fixing the issue. They replaced the first 3 solenoids in trans without success. Purchased new. These 2 issues remain a big problem. On another note, interior cabin flooded due to rain entering the cowl from a design flaw. Dealership detached a hose.

My hood (and I have noticed very many hoods) the paint is bubbling up and peeling at first I thought it was done by the mechanics. I punched it up on the computer and saw many complaints about it. I was waiting for some kind of recall. My car is now 5 yrs old but I have gone over 100,000 mi. Ford is blowing this off. They must be aware of this problem.

Shorty after the warranty on the vehicle expired I noticed paint bubbles on the front lip of the hood. I was still two years away from paying off the vehicle. I brought the car to the dealership where they took photos and recommended a complete hood replacement. Ford refused to fund even a portion of the cost to fix the problem. Internet Mustang forums have multiple threads about this problem. Apparently it began with model year 2004. I contacted Ford directly and was told they would not help me. I contacted the massachusetts attorney general's office. They contacted Ford and Ford refused to talk to them about the problem. They they sent me and the mass ag a letter stating that they would not help and they would not talk to us about the problem anymore. The problem continued to progress throughout the entire hood. I was recently forced to purchase an aftermarket hood because the paint was gone from several sections of the stock hood. I attempted to purchase a new stock hood but the dealership said that the problem would probably happen again on the new hood.

I'm the owner of a 2007 Ford Mustang. I started noticing paint bubbles along the front edge and underside of the hood. I come to find out that this a common problem not only for similar model year Mustangs, but for other Ford vehicles as well. Evidence suggests that Ford is aware of this problem and continues to do nothing about. I've been told that the only way to fix the situation is to replace the hood and that I would need to cover the cost. Furthermore, even after a new hood was installed, this issue would probably occur again. Very frustrating.

My paint located near my hood pins is bubbling due to oxidation/rust mainly, from what I have read, is due to the wrong part. Ford or shelby have denied my multiple requests, even wiring warranty dates, to resolve this issue. Multiple 07-08 Mustang shelby gt's have this same issue and neither company can provide a solution or deal with this issue. Please help us owners keep our cars nice without having to pay out of pocket and be covered under warranty. Thank you for your time.

I have 2006 Mustang gt, brought new and the paint on the hood is falling off, I took to a Ford dealer body shop, and was given an estimate of $600. 00 , to repaint the hood. I was told that the warranty on the paint is only good for 36,000 miles or 3 years. The paint was not falling off at 36,000 miles, and I think Ford should have had a recall on this problem, I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Paint is peeling off the hood of my 2007 Ford Mustang. I noticed the 06-07 Mustangs have a similar problem and was told by the dealer it is because they have an aluminum hood. These cars should be recalled, and the hood should be painted for free because paint should last longer than three years.

Basically, I first noticed the paint bubbling up on the front exterior edge of my hood about 1 1/2 years after buying the car new. It was repaired under warranty but the gentleman at the body shop said that he'd seen it many times on Mustangs and other Ford models and that the problem most likely would return and it did. After reporting it a second time, I tried to claim for a new hood from Ford but they flat out refused. I also reported it to military autosource on long island, new york (the boss actually) and he bent over backwards to help me get a new hood but they refused him as well. Fortunately, I purchased the extended warranty because I've had other problems with my Mustang, the most serious being the play/backlash in my rear differential being way out of limits. It's supposed to be between 0. 2 and 0. 3mm. I had to get a second opinion from another certified mechanic who checked it properly and found that the play/backlash was almost 5mm. This is what has been causing the "clunk" in my drive train. Fortunately, the boss at military autosource contacted a top mechanic at Ford to get the info I needed to get the differential adjusted/repaired.

My paint id bubbled on my hood and it's ugly, it was manufactured that way and I think they should fix it.

The paint on the hood on my car is bubbling and starting to chip off. There are at least five patches of this on my hood and they are very noticeable.

Bought car new in 06, hood oxidation causes paint to flake off hoods. Notified dealer in 08 and was told it's not a warantee issue they wanted me to pay for it. Since learned it was a common problem due to improper treatment of aluminum before painting.

The paint has bubbled and now is chipping off the car. I noticed the bubbling some years ago when the bubbles turned to tiny rust spots. Just recently a large section of paint of the truck of the car chipped off. I talked to a few well known paint shops and they said that even in a car this old this should not be happening. They said that there was a problem with how the paint was applied in the factory. I also learned that many people with white Ford Mustangs have had the same problem.

Complaint regarding the hassles the consumer experienced while trying to purchase a Ford Mustang. Damaged hood, paint chips on the vehicle and difficulty getting the 115 point inspection for the vehicle. Glove compartment was missing.
