Dash Wiring Problems of Ford Mustang

My instrument cluster failed due to the wiring in the dashboard from the factory was chafing on each other and shorted out. I first thought it was just a fuse but they kept blowing. So I brought it to one dealer they said the cluster needed replacement due to a short in it and would cost $600. 00 because my warranty ran out in Nov. 2007 but the car only has 28k on it, it's a pleasure car. I called Ford care and they said since I have no service record with them there was nothing they could do for me. I brought the car next to my local mechanic and he ordered a new cluster through Ford and brought it to a separate dealer where they found the wiring problem and also replaced the cluster costing me $591. 00 plus the cost of the diagnosis from the first dealer of $177. 00. I feel Ford should still pay for these repairs due to the fact it came from the factory like this.

The shaker 1000 system while playing cd's they will skip and sometimes repeat a few secounds of music over and over.

Contacted dealer, dealer said could not help, car burned to ground. Dealer would not even give me a loaner car, still under investigation. No safety efect listed.

Unknown cause of fire under dash.

Nothing on the instrument panel works due to an electrical problem. Dealer has to replace the whole instrument panel. Overdrive nor traction control functioned in the snow. Vehicle currently being repaired.

While sitting at a red light consumer smelled smoke and then noticed smoke coming from the dashboard. Got out the vehicle and the fire started. Another consumer standing three cars from her helped to put the fire out.

While the consumer was driving they witnessed smoke coming from the ventilation vents. After witnessing the smoke, the consumer pulled over and got out of the vehicle. The instrument panel caught flames. A nearby driver put the fire out with the extinguisher, and the fire department was contacted. They determined that the fire was caused by a loose wire that touched the metal and sparked a fire. The dealership has been contacted but not the manufacturer.

Front brakerotors/pads/calipers failed. Also, replaced transmission gears/clusters/interior body panels.

Instrument cluster (I/c) hood insufficient to prevent lower I/c lights from reflecting in windshield with tall drivers. Creates very distracting reflections in drivers field of view.
