When fueling my 2006 Mustang, I find it hard to fill the gas tank completely. I don't have a problem until it is over 1/2 tank. Dealership assures me that nothing can be done to fix this. This is a design flaw with the saddlebag portion of the fuel tank. Also, I had to put a new clutch in my car at 17,000 miles. I had the maintenance package so Ford had to pick up the tab for this repair. I also have the extended warranty so I was able to get a loaner but I seem to be driving a Ford focus allot since I bought my car. This will be an expensive car if I have to put a clutch in every 17,000 miles or so. I also had the right front suspension arm replaced at 19,000 miles. At this time I am having problems with the ignition starter sticking and causing a scratching noise when I start my car. This happens mainly in the morning when it's cold so I'm having a hard time convincing the dealership that the starter is bad but I will continue to have it looked at until I get results. Other smaller issues like trunk light had to be replaced, stick shift lever had to be reglued have occurred. I wanted a Mustang since I was 16 years old and this has been somewhat of a disappointing new car.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that he could only pump six gallons of gas into the vehicle. The pump handle suddenly stopped pumping gas and there was no overflow, warning indicators, or noises. The fuel gauge indicated that the fuel tank was half full. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and they stated that there was a technical service bulletin for the 2005 model that was related to NHTSA campaign id number 10014651 (fuel system, other). The dealer could not repair the failure and stated that the gas tank had two parts and was not transferring the gas to the second tank. No repairs were made. The current mileage was 3,065 and failure mileage was 2,500. Updated 3/4/08.

Cannot fill fuel tank. The pump shuts off very quickly after attempting to fill. Ford has said that it is a flow problem on the fuel pumps. Their solution for the problem is to replace the gas tank. My car already has the updated tank and I still can't put gas in it. The dealer said there hands are tied by the manufacturer since the car is under warranty.

I was on my way to work today and was getting on the highway. When I went to let off the gas the pedel was stuck to the floor. . . . I did not get the car turned off untill almost 100 miles per hour. . . . Then, at that speed with no power brakes and steering. . . I almost slamed into the four cars ahead of me. . ( I missed them by just a few feet). . With the e-break on and pushing as hard as I could on the brakes I managed to stop the vehicle about 1500' down the road. Upon investigating the car I found the reason for the stuck throttle was that the pedel had stuck under the edge of the carpet by the pedel (bottom). I could have been killed and the wife might not have thought quick enough to know what to do and my kids could have been in the car. I know for sure it would have taken alot longer for her to stop than me. Ford needs to look into this before someone gets killed. The carpet should be updated and the carpet should be replaced with better fit in the gas/brake/clutch area. This is extreamly dangerous because most these cars put down 380 hp at the wheels!.

I purchased a 2005 Ford Mustang v6. From day 1 I experienced trouble trying to fill my gas tank up. It keeps spitting like it is full when it is empty. I feel this should be a recall.
Several trips have been made to the dealership for repairs. The gas tank was replaced because it wouldn't allow the pump to fill up the tank. Problem still happens occasionally. The fuel gauge stopped working and the service department could not repair it. The gauge will not always show the correct amount of fuel. It seems to take several miles and several starts to correctly display the amount of fuel. I never really know how much I should trust its accuracy. The fule gauge was replaced and it did not work any better. Ford engineers asked that I use 3 tanks of premium gasoline with techron in order to clean the sensor. This did not work. Now Ford is working on the problem and still has no solution. The shaker 500 cd player was replaced when the cd's wouldn't play and would not allow the cd's to be removed. Bushings were replaced when clicking noise was heard while turning.
On more than one occasion (approx. 3 total), when attempting to refuel the gas tank, the handle will release as if the tank was full after less than a gallon has been added. This has happened at multiple gas stations, including one I visit often. When this happens, it is necessary to hold the fueling handle because it will constantly release if the handle lock is used.
When putting gas in the car, the gas pump clicks off continuously as if the tank were full. You have to continue engaging the pump over and over to fill the tank.
While fueling the car the no matter which I tried the pump kept cutting off as if the tank was full had to hold the nozzel almost upside down to have any fuel go into the tank.
While driving service engine light came on. The gear shift lever vibrated, all the fluid levers went to empty, and vehicle coasted to a stop. Vehicle was serviced twice by the dealership for this problem in which the clamp was replaced. However, problem recurred.
