The contact owns a 2010 Ford Mustang. While rotating the
tires, he noticed the fuel line was had fractured and was dangling from its housing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however; the bracket for the fuel line was missing. The dealer advised that the bracket was not a part that was sold individually and the entire fuel line assembly cover would need to be purchased and replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 3,733. The consumer stated the problem he is having is not only specific to his vehicle. He found two other models that had the same missing fuel line support bracket; a 2010 v6 model and a 2011 v8 gt model. Updated 07/13/10.

When I filled my car with gas it started to overflow out of the top through the gas cap area and pour out of the bottom. I had my father check it about an hour later while it was parked and he couldn't find a leak. We determined the automatic stop on the pump must have failed. I went to put $20 of gas in it two days ago and once again it was pouring out of the bottom. Since I didn't fill it up this time, I knew it had to be my car and not the pump. I had my mechanic look at it and he determined the fuel filler hose has rusted through all the way to the plastic cover around it. He told me my car is safe to be driven but not to put gas in. I've ordered the $184 part to repair it and am currently waiting for it to come in to the dealer. I found many complaints of this incident but no official recalls by Ford. Did I miss something somewhere? it seems to me if there are that many problems with this particular part of the car, Ford would have done a recall.

The gas tank is very hard to fill if the tank is over 1/4 tank. It doesn't matter what gas station you use or how the handle is positioned. The automatic fuel shutoff feature of the gas handle will shut off as if there were back pressure.
Potential fire hazard. Can not fuel vehicle. After approximately 1/2 tank, gas station fuel nozzle shut off. Tried slightly engaging nozzle, and continued to shut off. After multiple tries and multiple gas stations, could fill tank to 3/4 tank, then shut off recurred. Will no longer accept fuel. Fuel spillage occurred on almost all shut off incidents, no matter what pressure fuel was transferred at (by regulating handle). After research on internet, found many other owners complaining of same issue (see allfordmustang. Com's 2005+ forums) with some having resolve after tank and / or filler tube /vent replacement. Tried their suggestion of placing nozzle in different directions did not help. Also reference Ford service bulletin 06313 (NHTSA item number 10019387) taking to dealership tomorrow. Not the first occurrence on this vehicle. Has shut off before prematurely, but has always restarted with no spillage / recurring. Vehicle only has 1200 miles on it.
The fuel tank is very difficult to get fuel in when the tank is over 1/4 full. This has been going on since I bought the car and Ford recognizes the problem but doesn't have a fix. I have been told to try other gas stations. It doesn't matter which gas station or how the hose is positioned.
Problems with gas leaking from vehicle. Everytime the gas tank was filled 1/2 to full, gas leaked at the connector where the intake pipe meets the tank. The rubber seal at the connector was very loose and wet when gas leaked. There was a smell of gas.

The rubber seal between the fuel filler pipe and the fuel tank split causing fuel to leak out onto the ground. This could cause a fire or an environmental spill.

Ten to fifteen minutes gone by before george nagel the service manager sat in it. He kept car do to he smell of fuel. And that is after the car sitting there airing out.
