Cannot fill fuel tank more than 1/2 full. This has been an ongoing problem since beginning of ownership. 4 trips to the dealership including tank, filler neck & sender replacement has not resolved the problem. As an experienced auto technician of 27 years I inspected the design of the fuel tank and determined that the "saddlebag" design is flawed at the top and center, where that section is only about 5 mm thick and is higher than the top left and right sides, not allowing fuel to flow into the righthand side. I have an appoint with the Ford dealership in ft pierce on Monday, November 19th, 2007. At that time I intend to relay my opinion on this matter, however I'm not expecting a satisfactory answer from them.

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Mustang. While fueling the vehicle, the tank only fills up halfway. The contact noticed this when the vehicle would only accept $10 worth of gas, which is equal to a half tank. He took the vehicle back to the dealer and they stated that they could find no failure and nothing could be done. The dealer informed him of the possibility of pressure build up and an explosion. Ford motor company informed him that he was stuck with the vehicle until they could find a remedy. He was advised to continue fueling the vehicle as needed. The current mileage was 3,907 and failure mileage was 3,000. Updated 03-11-08

2007 Mustang: have had numerous of problems with filling up with gas. This does happen quite often. It's only letting me fill up about half way and pump clicks like the fuel tank is full, and it's not. I haven't done anything about it due to my time schedule. There will be a call to Ford very soon from me.
: the contact stated while putting fuel in the vehicle the fuel nozzle must be held in a certain position to obtain a correct reading from the fuel gauge. Before putting fuel into the vehicle the fuel gauge read half a tank, while attempting to put fuel into the vehicle it showed full. The vehicle was taken to the dealership, they replaced the storage tank. However, this did not correct the problem.
The gas tank on my 2005 Ford Mustang v6 overflows when I fill it. I stop in advance of the tank being full then the fuel comes up and out the fill tube sometimes with enough force to splash onto my clothing. This happens every time I fill the tank and I have taken to not filling the tank completely any longer. This is after the tank was replaced by my local Ford dealership where I purchased the vehicle. The tank was replaced because the fuel would not continuously flow from the pump(pump would shut off after about 1 second of fueling) causing me to spend 10 minutes or more at the pump at each fill up.

Difficulty in filling fuel tank. I have had this problem from the time I purchased vehicle, to present. Vehicle is 2005 Mustang gt and has over 5000 miles on it. Basically, approx. Every other time I try to fill fuel tank, one of two things happens: (1) fuel nozzle will almost immediately shut off- as if tank is already full. After multiple attempts (waiting, experimenting with angle and/or depth of nozzle insertion) I can almost always get fuel to start flowing into the tank. That's when symptom (2) can happen (again, roughly half of time I pull into station). At about the point when tank is half full, the nozzle will stop filling (as if tank is full) and will refuse to take anymore gas no matter what I do. I have experimented with different gas stations, and even with different pumps at same station and have yet to determine a pattern - or why this happens so randomly. One thing I'm sure of is that it's the vehicle's problem, as other cars I have had recently never did this. I have seen that this issue is known about by Ford and a TSB has been issued. However, from forum posts I've seen on internet, it appears that fuel tank replacements Ford has done for this issue many times do not fix issue. For that reason, I have lived with this annoyance so far.
Vehicle has TSB for tank belching fuel out of the tank and or early fill up shut off. TSB performed and this is still an issue not only does the filler click off constantly but many times is spews fuel from the filler when this happens same as before the TSB was done.
I hit a tree after driving off the road and the car became ingulfed in flames and soon burned the car to nuthing but straight metal loss of everything even rims were melted and windows too all that was left was hard metal surfaces I was almost burned alive plus the airbags deployed to late and my head actually impacted the steering wheel breaking my nose and splitting my forehead open and almost lost my left eye due to the impact the seatbelt worked too good it sperated my left shoulder and broke my collar bone stretching all my tendons in my left shoulder breaking my clavical and shoulder blade.
