The plastic break switch pad broke when I was driving on the highway. I lost engine power and rpms were erratic. Brake lights would not turn off even when brakes were not applied. 38 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 06/26/2023

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the break pedal stop pad broke into small pieces while I was driving today. My car suddenly would not go above 40 and while going up a hill I couldn’t go faster than 20. When I finally got home I realized that my break lights would not turn off. I did google and it said to look on the floor board and see if there was anything on the floor. The pieces I found were identified as the break pedal stop pad. Yes it is available for inspection and I took pictures of the broken bits from the floorboard. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? my car suddenly was unable to go the speed limit in 6 o’clock traffic putting me as well as those driving behind me in danger of a collision and physical harm. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? no has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? a message did pop up that said uphill break assist unavailable within 5 minutes of me getting in the vehicle. I had no previous issues or warnings before this incident.

42 Service Brakes problem of the 2011 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 04/19/2023

I have a beautiful 2011 Ford Mustang that has been rendered useless because the brake lights and turn signals continually blow a fuse. The car cannot be repaired because Ford quit making the needed part after the car was 8 years old. This not only creates an unnecessary expense of purchasing a new car it is also a safety hazard. After extensively searching for the part on the internet I found many cases of people needing that part with no luck finding it. As info the part number is ar3z13c788f. How many people will be driving around without brake lights and turn signals because Ford decided brake lights aren't necessary after a car is 8 years old.

44 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 03/10/2023

My vehicle is often showing a "service advancetrac" warning, another warning that the hill start assist is disabled, and simultaneously the antilock brake warning light and the seatbelt warning light on the dashboard will light up. When this happens, the traction control shuts down and steering becomes more difficult. It seems to be a sensor malfunction or a problem with the powertrain control module, which would be consistent with NHTSA campaign no. 22v382, which was issued for newer model Mustangs.

45 Service Brakes problem of the 2002 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 03/09/2023

On or about 01/28/2023 I purchased a 2002 Ford Mustang gt for a n. J. Used car dealer. I was assured by the sales person that the Mustang had been thoroughly inspected and there were no mechanical problems whatsoever. Upon delivery of the Mustang, that had only 68,886 miles, I took the Mustang for a required virginia safety inspection and learned that the front brakes were completely worn out and must be replaced. I had a complete front brake job done, to include: new brake pads, rotors, calipers and hoses. The front brake job cost $637. 17. Mula auto group 117 e main st somerville, NJ 08876 mulaautogroup. Before I purchased the car from victor, he told me there were no mechanical problems whatsoever and the car had been inspected. It took almost three weeks for me to get the Mustang transported from new jersey to virginia. After the Mustang arrived on February 13, 2023, I was away for two weeks and did not drive the car until early March. I recently had a virginia state safety inspection done and the Mustang barely passed inspection because of the badly worn front brakes. Both pads were worn to minimum limits, both rotors were badly grooved and the left caliper was seized. I just had the front brake work done today, for a total of $637. 17. Invoice #32403 is attached. If I had been told the Mustang needed front brakes, I would not have bought the car. There is no doubt that mulaj auto should have advised me of the bad front brakes. Because mulaj auto failed to do so, I think you'll agree that mulaj auto should compensate me for the front brake job. Your assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated. 49 Service Brakes problem of the 2005 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/10/2022

I have done all my airbag recalls and the light came on a few months ago and is steady flashing. Called cresent Ford in high pint and they looked up my VIN and my car replacement history. They told me it had been replaced but it was still under warranty and to make an appointment to have it looked at. Made an appointment, which I may add I had to take the day off and drive 40 mins one way, I was told by doug that I had to pay for a diagnostic test because it may not be the airbag and they refused to look at the car until I paid for a diagnostic test. I continue to receive airbag notices and if I was told on the phone this was under warranty. If there are problems in the past with airbags and in the future, we have problems why should this not be covered and looked at by Ford at cost to them to run a diagnostic test. This is absurd. Had this happened to me 3 months ago I never would not have purchased a 2010 Mustang if this is how you do your customers for your defective parts. Also went to pull the parking brake up, which was passed inspection several times, and the brake does not work. This is a big safety hazard.

50 Service Brakes problem of the 2014 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/08/2022

I currently own a 2014 Mustang gt with a manual transmission and notice my emergency brake release button was cracking. The button is made of cheap plastic and the dealer does not have a replacement release button. They only sell the whole emergency brake, which I feel that Ford should she be responsible of replacing the emergency brake button, since this is a safety issue that you cannot engage the emergency brake or disengage the emergency brake button when parking your vehicle on a hilly driveway or any hill at all. Which I leave in northern California that is very hill and feel that if my car ever comes disengaged out of 1st gear it would cause serious damages to others, such as crashing into a building or other cars or even a fatality.

51 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 10/03/2022

Accident after side swiping cattle guard, flew off the road at 70mph, landing roughly, and bouncing off desert terrain, trying to control crash outcome, realign no brakes, and no way to slow down vehicle, except no acceleration, and turned away from homes and power poles, to eventually slam into a a higher terrain, until complete stop. My repaired airbags didn't deploy, and at that speed, my passenger side wheels were shattered, tires flat, face hit the steering wheel and windshield, my knees hit dashboard, arms bounced off off everything the seat belt couldn't protect me from. Because of airbag failure to deploy, I ended up with 2 fractures, t9 and l1, 6 lose teeth making front teeth unable to use, and 2 cervical discs pushing into spinal column. I have medicaid for insurance, and they will not do the surgery on my neck, so I have permanent nerve damage to my arms and hands, and the rest of my life to avoid any falls, or sudden injury to these areas so I can exist as a cripple, all because the safety equipment mandated by you, failed or was non existent. I had basic motor insurance coverage and no medical for me. What do you propose I do, with what's left of my car and my body parts, to continue existing in this life? why have safety regulations when the equipment is knowingly defective, and costly, with no recourse in case something happens, before you as owner, are aware of it. I'm so pissed off to discover I own a vehicle, or paid for vehicle, that tried to kill me.

53 Service Brakes problem of the 2020 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 08/08/2022

Caught in stop and go traffic at night for 45 minutes. Car started moving forward even though my foot was only on the brake pedal. My first thought was I'd accidentally pressed both the brake and gas pedals, but I could see my foot on the brake pedal since the under-dash area is lit in the premium model. It happened for about one minute the first time, then happened again a couple minutes later. I hit the bumper of a tour bus during the second instance at about two mph. The tour bus driver apparently didn't notice the hit and changed lanes a few minutes later. I didn't see any damage to the tour bus, but my license plate bracket and license plate were bent, and the middle part of my bumper didn't snap back together correctly. The Ford dealer was unable to duplicate the problem, and the brakes and vacuum pressure module didn't show any leaks. The service advisor said it was impossible for the transmission to engage without pressing the gas pedal, but I suspect the 10-speed transmission since the engine rpm didn't appear to change. There were no warning lights before or after the incident and the service advisor said no codes had been set. In retrospect I should have tried putting the transmission in neutral, used the emergency brake,or turned off the ignition (but a tractor trailer was about ten feet behind me).

67 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 01/13/2022

There is a circular pin in the brake pedal that interacts with the brake switch sensor that basically disintegrated. Not having this part does not allow me to brake properly and caused me to get into an accident and would not allow my car to accelerate properly. Also, without this part the car will not turn off. The dealership told me that they had never seen this issue; however, I have found many incidents on the internet where this is a common problem in Ford vehicles. There were no warnings at all.

68 Service Brakes problem of the 2021 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/19/2021

The front brakes grab suddenly during low speed braking under about 6 mph causing the car to jerk to a stop. The front brakes will lock up when coming to a stop at higher speeds at about 25 mph if the car is downshifting gears. The low speed issue happens for about 80 percent of the stops and the higher speed braking issue is hit or miss. There are no warning lights indicated on the dash. I took the car into the dealership with about 3000 miles on it. The dealership said they could not duplicate, it was just how abs works and that I needed to drive more miles and it would go away. I put the pick up date for my car as the incident date but as this is a current and ongoing issue it is every date.

69 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 11/02/2021

As I was driving on the freeway, out of nowhere my car started losing gas power which almost caused me to get rear ended. Later on that night I almost lost full control of the car when it lost power since I started swerving. Through out the night it continued to lose power and then the "hill side assistance" light came on notifying me that it was not available/functioning and my break lights would not turn off at all, even when the car was off and locked. I took it to the dealer and they could not find the problem. Then I took it the a mechanic which he was able to temporarily fix it but it was not a permanent fix. We had to create the part, as the Ford company did not have it anywhere. If I would have been on the street I would have lost control and who knows if a pedestrian could have been walking, it could have ended tragic. This is something that needs to be review and fix by Ford company. This is a severe safety issues, it seems not only my car is having the same issue but other Ford Mustangs as well. Since the dealer did not have that small piece, they attempted to sale me the entire part which was $500. Not every one can afford the entire part, and for a small piece which should cost no more than $20 that can cause injuries should not be ignored.
