Airbag light stays on.

When driving on main road mitchell st. In downtown Cadillac, the airbag light flashed and started on since. A few nights after, when starting the car, it would not come on until minutes after the car started. Now, it will stay light from when the car is running g until shut off.

Takata recall: I bought a car from a man less than 5 months ago and I slowly started to notice some things. I started out with 3 windows working instead of four which I was not told. My driver side window doesn't even work and it stopped about a moth ago. A week before that my airbag light comes on, my brother was actuallly the one driving when that happened. The steering wheel started getting loose starting about 3 months ago. Then the air bag light started coming on and not going off. I saw the recall on other Ford models for the steering wheel and thought this might be the same scenario. I tried to contact Ford twice and both times was interrupted by the automated request to take a survey. I don't know if the steering wheel has ever been removed, but I do know that the drivers airbag was replaced at some time.

Took our 2012 Ford Taurus in for service & they ask if we would like them 2 go ahead & do our state inspection so we said that's fine! we they later came iut & said it would pass inspection because of air bag & tag light! when we pulled in to that dealership the airbag light wasn't on! we told them this!the said they would have to run a test 4 another $100 or more! we looked up online & found where there was a recalls back in April 2016 for airbags on this model!they said not on there records in their computer! we ask 4 Ford phone # & on 09/16/2016 we called Ford & no help there either! I'm concerned! for car hasn't been wrecker & we fear for our safety as well as our families safety riding in this car!please help check check 4 recalls & complaints & get to the bottom of this matter! thank u so much!.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Taurus. While driving approximately 68 mph, the air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously. The contact restarted the vehicle and the engine warning indicator illuminated and the driver side headlamp failed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the line leading to the fuel pump needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 87,999.

Traveling at a speed of 50 / 55 mph and I hit a deer head on. The airbag light came on the dashboard but never deployed. Just curious to know if the air bag should of deployed.

Air bag light on drivers side has been activated for about a year has been checked by a ase garage. They couldn't find a fault code. Cars is surging at different speeds during normal operation. I have had to put car in neutral to kick it down to normal speed then back in to drive mode while moving in traffic. Some times it slams the transmission. The cruise control has not worked for over a year. Ase tech says the connection is worn and faulty. Ase tech says he could not get any fault codes for the surging in speed after letting it run for over 45 min. And test driving the car. Ase tech believes the problem is in the pcm.

The airbag light on the dash board would intermittently flash or come on and stay on for a while. We took it to a mechanic who told us the entire drivers side airbag assembly would need to be replaced. It would cost around $1,500. My daughter drives this vehicle so this is an important safety feature for us but for that amount of money it may be time for another vehicle.

The air bag light came on in passenger side as not on, my car then started to slow while I was on the highway, and jerked a bit, would not go when I hit the gas petal, had to pull in and about 10 min of turning car on and off, light for airbag went out and car was fine. Although at times light still comes on for airbag on passenger side but car has not stalled.

Airbag light flashes on/off frequently. Defective sensor is suspected. Part is unavailable. A major safety concern. Not sure if there was a recall prior to purchase or change out of parts.

Their is a pressure pad in the passenger seat to either allow or not allow the airbag to be active and this is not working the air bag is active all the time the seat can be empty and the airbag light will only briefly light up when starting car but go off right away indicating the airbag is active I had my niece in that seat and it did not deactivate and she is 45 pounds if you do not pay close attention to this you will not know you have a issue when your seat is empty the airbag off light in the radio cluster should light up and when a person heavy enuf to activate the air bag sits down the light should go off.

The passenger airbag cut off remains active when there is no weight in the seat so it will deploy when a child is up there passenger air bag light off light comes on when you start the car and shuts off right away with the seat empty it is supposed to remain on till a person of the set weight sits there to activate it .

The air bag light illuminated, which indicated that the air bag was deactivated when a passenger is seated in the front seat. Each time the dealer attempts to repair the failure, they are unable to identify the cause. The current mileage was 2,300 and failure mileage was 200.

Airbag light problems.

Takata recall: airbag light stays on, on the dashboard, for days at a time then goes off for awhile then goes on again over and over non-stop; whether stationary or in motion, on city streets or highways, on turning or not.

We had this vehicle checked several times due to the airbag light coming on/staying on/flashing. On one occasion the sensor was replaced, after that it was cleaned, due to corrosion at the connection. My wife was involved in an auto accident on 8/16/05 where the car was hit on the drivers side front end at approximately 50 miles per hour, the posted speed limit. None of the airbags deployed. My wife sustained whiplash from the accident.

Consumer was driving through mcdonalds when brakes failed, and pedal went to the floor. Consumer looked out of car and saw brake fluid on ground. Consumer walked to garage, and was told brake line was bent which caused it to rust. Brake line was located on driver's side. Consumer was told brake line went from front tire to rear tire. When brake went out the air bag light came on. Light was yellow with picture of air bag deployed. Also, consumer noticed that dash in vehicle on driver's side was separating.

I had an after market radio installed in my car. Once I picked up my car I noticied that the air bag light was on. I took the vehicle to ocala Lincoln-Mercury in ocala florida. The dealer stated that the air bag module went through the radio. The dealer stated that the air bags no longer work. The cost to repair this issue would be about 800. 00 dollars. I called Ford and they told me that they have no control over a design feature. I f I had to replacethe radio even if it does not work I could not do the replacement I would have to find an original radio or live without one. My issue is the stupid design of placing an air bag module in the radio and that I do not have air bags now. Ford told me that since I replaced the radio it is on me.

Air bag light illuminated intermittently. As a result, air bags were inoperative and wouldn't deploy when needed, per dealership.

Air bag light on, displayed series of code, then remained on. Car was taken to dealer they recorded code b1342. Replaced air bag monitor part number yf1z-14b321ea. This same vehicle had the same part replaced in Sep-2003 less than 3000 miles between the two failures.

Consumer states that while driving at any speed the air bag light comes on and the air bag could be inoperative in the event of a vehicle accident. Dealer notified.

Windshield wipers willnot operate at all. Airbag light appears on the dashboard intermittently. Also, windows will go up and down without prior warning.

The front air bag light has come on 5 different times since Jan 19,2001. The first 3 times the light was out by the time I got the car to the dealer and I was told that the air bag system had no memory and no information was available if the light was out. The fourth time the light came on by leaving the car in drive and the engine running I got the car to the dealer with the light still on. They stopped the engine and restarted it and the light went out. The story that day was that the system did have a memory and I made an appointment for 8 Jan to have it checked and fixed. I picked the car up on 08jan02 the light was out but I told them I could still hear a slight alternator ?? whine but they assured that couldn't be a problem.

When car was started airbag indicator on instrument panel continued to flash for several minutes. Indicator stopped flashing and remained on. The car was immediately taken to dealer. Airbag indicator went out when key was turned off. Service advisor said it was safe to drive and recommended it be brought back Monday morning. Car was returned to dealer on Monday. Dealer could not find a cause and suggested this was a known problem. Service advisor said to check back with Ford in the future and see if there is an advisory on this problem.

Consumer was traveling about 30mph on highway and noticed that airbag light was blinking, and without prior warning both airbags went off. He was forced into concrete barriers on road. Vehicle had smoke inside, and was totaled. There were no injuries.

I have had car back four time. The air bag light comes on and won't go out. The dealer the last time put a new moduel on said that was the problem . The light just came on again I bought the car for the air bag system how safe is it??? I want a new car.

Vehicle was parked in the garage. Driver noticed that the air bag light was on may 24, 2001. Driver called Ford dealer. They said it was a faulty sensor and to bring it in. The vehicle was left in the garage. On may 26 driver's son noticed that the air bag had deployed. Took vehicle to hillard's Ford tlephopne number 817-370-5200. On June 1 the service desk at the dealer called and said they were contacting Ford to have someone check it out. On June 4, 2001 Ford said that the control module indicated that there had been a crash. The head of serivce at hillard's said they could not find any damage to the vehicle that would have caused deployment of the air bag. He said that he couldn't fix it withoug Ford's approval. Hillard's manager said he suspected a faulty sensor. Progressive insurance said there was no damage to the car and that it was an internal Ford problem and they would not pay the claim. On June 19th the serivce manage at hillard called and said the owner would need to sign a release to remove the control module so they could send it to Ford for an evaluation. He said Ford would pay if they were at fault. Progressive insurance said they would not pay under any circumstances.

Airbag initially displayed a failure code at 460 miles and the dealer replaced the monitor assembly. The airbag has now again reported a failure code (45). The dealer examined the vehicle and found that the internal computer showed 2 failures with codes u2017 and u2018. They did not repair the problem. Ford motor company had provided the dealership with the following advisory: intermittent air bag light  dtc u2017/u2018 some 2000/2001 Taurus/sables equipped with side air seat bags may exhibit an intermittent air bag lamp on with diagnostic trouble codes (dtc) u2017 and/or u2018 (side crash sensor communications error) stored in memory. Engineering is investigating and plans to release a service procedure mid-first quarter 2001. Please clear codes and release vehicle at this time. If dtc codes are key on engine run or hard fault, perform workshop manual pinpoint tests and service as necessary. The dealer would not assure me that the airbag would function if required or that it would not inflate at an inappropriate time.
