Front Air Bag Sensor Control Problems of Ford Taurus

I have been dealing with the service manager mike who is at the scottsdale, az location at autonation. I had my vehicle worked on there a little over a month ago. I paid $1600 for repairs; I was informed at that time that the air bag sensor light was not operating property. I knew the light was on for a while, but I did not realize that the airbags did not work. I asked when I picked the vehicle up after the repairs were completed, when the sensor will be in. Mike informed me that they would call me. Ever since I left there, no one has called to give me an updates on the parts being order. I called 5 times, including calling marshall who was my service associate who provided no response. I told him that I was going to write a bad review because I have been calling for weeks and no one was providing me any answers, and his response was response was, �I'll look forward to the bad review. � this clearing shows that mike does not care about my safety or anyone else who in in my vehicle, including my child. I have brought several Ford vehicles and feel that I trust the mechanics and feel that I have been let down due to the uncaring demeanor that mike and marshall not responding timely to address safety concerns. I feel that at this point, my family and I are not protected with a vehicle that we entrusted in Ford to provide us safety which we are driving on the road. Additionally, I truly feel that I'm getting treated this way because I'm an african-american woman living in scottsdale, az in the year of 2020 and I still feel that racism is still alive and truly have encountered here at autonation. This is a safety issue and I feel that Ford has a lot of employees who value customer's lives, but this particular location has shown their true colors as to how they stand for customer satisfaction and safety.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the air bag failed due to the front crash sensor. The warranty is valid for 5 years or 50,000 miles and sensor is not covered by the warranty. The repair cost was $400. The dealer and the Ford manufacturer informed the contact that as long as the light illuminated that the air bags would not deploy if an accident occurred. The failure mileage was 65,400. I have a 2005 Ford Taurus which is equipped with a "passenger airbag off" feature. According to the owner's manual, the car is supposed to determine if a child weighs enough for the airbag to be deployed and if not the airbag is supposed to be disabled and a light near the heat/air controls will light up stating "pass airbag off. " this feature was one of the deciding factors when we purchased this vehicle. Recently I had an accident when my vehicle left the road striking a utility pole. The airbag deployed with my barely 60 pound daughter in the front seat. We all know that airbags are dangerous, however many parents depend on this special feature that is supposed to automatically turn off the airbag when their small child or carseat is in the front.

The contact owns a 2006 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that the air bag indicator light illuminated intermittently and the service engine light remained illuminated. The mechanic performed a tune-up; however, the lights remained illuminated. In addition, the driver's side power window would go down but would not rise up. As of December 27, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle. The failure mileage was 25,000 and current mileage was 77,000.

Airbag lights flashes on and off. Some time is stay on for at least five minites. No accident. . It comes on by itself. Wanted to take it to dealer but was advised to check to see ifi there was a recall. I got this information.

The air bag light appeared on the dashboard until the vehicle was turned off. The consumer had taken the vehicle to the dealer for analysis and the mechanic noticed that air bag module needed replacement. The air bag light would come on when the vehicle was started and the vehicle lost all electrical power. The consumer had to turn off the auto defrost, and then turn it back on to reset the componets. Also when the failure occurred the consumer had to place the vehicle in park and a loud metal sound came from the front of the vehicle and it would have to be shut down before placing the vehicle in park. The valet switch on the left side of the steering column had fallen off.

Air bag sensor light comes on and stays on all day. Could cause premature or no deployment of the air bag. Dealer contacted. The air bag sensor light is operating normally. The dealer feels it is a short in the system. The dealer is unsure but, suggests that the module and sensor be replaced. Ford is not accepting responsibility for this because it is over the warranty.

Vehicle parked inside of garage consumer was backing out, and noticed that airbag light came on and stayed on until he took vehicle to dealership. So that mechanic could set the codes. The vehicle had been serviced five times for air bag problem. Twice air bag sensors were replcaced. The consumer feels the defect was substantial impairment to use and safety of the vehicle.

Air bag sensor light kept blinking on/off intermittently;. Dealer notified, and was unable to correct the problem. Seeking help from NHTSA in this matter. Please feel free to provide any further details.
