On or about 04/17/2012 and on 05/14/2012 I was driving my 2006 Ford Taurus and suddenly the vehicle acceleration seemed to have stuck in accelerated state causing the car to suddenly go faster that the approx 30 mph that I was driving. This happened without warning. The car's engine seemed to be revving and I had to apply the brakes with some force to stop the car. The first time I was able to stop at the red light with the brake pedal depressed hard, even after coming to a stop as the car still wanted to go. Once the light changed to green I drove forward and began tapping the gas/brake multiple times in some hope to stop the unwanted acceleration. Finally the car returned back to normal. Yesterday the exact thing happened again. I was going about 30 mph on a town street when for no known reason to me the engine revved up and the acceleration caused the Taurus to want to speed further. I turned off a nearby side street, depressing the brakes hard to stop. I shut off the car after I pulled over. Shortly thereafter I started the Taurus again but the acceleration was still going. I began tapping the gas/brakes and then the car went back to normal. I am worried as this appears to be a dangerous situation as sudden and unwanted random acceleration of my 2006 Ford Taurus could cause an accident, injuries or death. Please help!.

While pulling into a parking space, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and jumped over a raised curb, smashing into the wall of the u. S. Post office in depere, WI. The airbags deployed and there was $2100 in damage to the vehicle. The damage has since been repaired. On March 13th 2012, I was notified by a friend that there was a probe into the Ford Taurus having this issue. I have notified Ford motor company and the vehicle is currently at broadway Ford in green bay, WI awaiting an answer as to what caused the sudden acceleration.
On four separate occasions, the first being 01/27/12, I have experienced my car accelerating on its own. It felt was as if the car was possessed. It sped from 40mph to 55mph without my foot on the gas. I had to struggle to brake at a red light, fighting the car as it tried to resist stopping. Thankfully, I was able to come to a stop, place the car in park and put the parking brake on as I waited at the red light. Once the light was green and it was time to drive again, the moment I took my foot off the brake, the car immediately accelerated rapidly, without any assistance from me. This was during heavy traffic, so I was very scared, and broke into tears when I finally parked at work safely. This has happened on three other occasions over the past two months, one where my car went from 30mph to 55mph on its own. When these incidents have occurred, I have put my foot behind the gas pedal and pulled forward, checking to make sure it wasn't stuck, as that has happened once or twice as well. I am on a tight budget and can not presently afford to get my car fixed, so I have no knowledge of if/when this will happen again. It comes and goes without warning. Sometimes once the car starts speeding up by itself, it does not stop until I am at my destination. Other times, it ceases after a few minutes without notice. Please look into this, as I saw a report that other Taurus owners are experiencing the same issue, and this is a very dangerous problem. Thank you.
