The contact owns a 2013 GMC Acadia. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle decelerated to 40 mph and the traction control, stability control, and engine reduced power warning indicators illuminated after the failure occurred. The engine failed and the vehicle was towed to the dealer (jack maxton Chevrolet east dublin road columbus, ohio, 43229, 614-681-0129) where it was diagnosed that the computer system failed due to the throttle body. The composition sensor was reprogrammed and the throttle body was replaced. The failure was not corrected and recurred after three months. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer for diagnostic testing and a failure code was produced at the fuse box. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Purchased a new 2009 GMC Acadia, the navigation, radio and dvd system failed. Vehicle only had 405 miles on it. I noted that there were 4 electrical failures documented in NHTSA report on the Acadia. The nav. Radio and dvd are powered by the electrical system as is the computer system and for this reason I have concern that a computer failure might occur while driving the vehicle which could be a serious safety concern. The vehicle was taken to dealer for repair, they could not repair the failed system nor did they even know what was wrong with the system. Dealer had to replace the system. No reason by the dealer was given as to why the navigation, radio and dvd system failed. They said they may never know why it failed. The failed equipment was to be sent into GMC for a failure analysis.
