Four problems related to fuel hoses lines/piping and fittings have been reported for the 2003 GMC Envoy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
2003 GMC Envoy. Fuel leak. Began smelling strong fuel odor. Per shop, fuel leak. Result: had to replace fuel tank / pump. Old part is not available.
The contact owns a 2003 GMC Envoy. While idling at a traffic light, the contacts vehicle was rear ended. The dealer stated that the gas tank was cracked on the vehicle. A geico representative assessed the damage and stated that the cracked gas tank was the result of safety recall # 02v121000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:hoses, lines/piping, and fittings). The rear bumper and hitch were damaged due to the crash. A police report was filed. The purchase date was unknown. The current mileage is 42,000 and failure mileage was 41,000. 2003 GMC Envoy xl. The gas tank cracked where the hose was connected to the gas tank. Took vehicle to mechanic after the check engine light came on and they said not to fill up more than half way. The fumes could cause an explosion. Dealer had to order the tank. Called manufacturer and they said there was no recall. This vehicle has not been in any accidents to cause this problem.
While traveling consumer smelled a fuel odor inside vehicle. Consumer pulled vehicle over, and noticed fuel leaking from under vehicle . Dealership serviced vehicle, and noticed fuel line was disconnected.
