Accelerator Pedal Problems of GMC Envoy

1 Accelerator Pedal problem of the 2006 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 04/14/2006

: the contact stated that the vehicle does not accelerate smoothly and makes a loud noise during the first 3 minutes of driving. The accelerator pedal must be depressed all the way to the floor for the vehicle to move, and then normal acceleration begins after driving 3 minutes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on 05/02/06 who could not duplicate the problem. The dealer representative inspected the vehicle on 07/20/06 and determined that the clutch fan that cools the engine created the noise but could not determine the cause for the acceleration problem. The manufacturer was alerted on numerous occasions who finally identified that it is normal for the vehicle's acceleration to perform in the documented manner. Updated 08/15/06. 8jb.

2 Accelerator Pedal problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 01/11/2006

2002 GMC Envoy -driver was sitting at traffic signal with left turn signal on . When light turned green driver proceeded through intersection to make turn when accelerator throttle. Driver could not stop or control vehicle causing it to hit concrete bridge pillar head on.

3 Accelerator Pedal problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 08/31/2005

Contact stated the accelerator pedal had to be replaced. While accelerating to make a left-hand turn the accelerator would not take. The service dealer replaced the accelerator pedal. The repair was covered under the warranty of the vehicle. This remedied the problem. Updated 11/29/05.

4 Accelerator Pedal problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 02/16/2004

Loss of engine power preventing passing on highway was caused by failure of the gas pedal (#15150990), which had to be replaced (parts and labor: $211).

5 Accelerator Pedal problem of the 2000 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 11/01/2000

Gas pedal sticks and causes too fast of acceleration thus causing a danger when backing up or starting off from a complte stop. Rear passenger seat belt installed incorrectly making child restraints not usable. Saftey issue!.
