Speedometer/odometer Failure Problems of GMC Envoy

GMC Envoy owners have reported 2 problems related to speedometer/odometer failure (under the vehicle speed control category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Speedometer/odometer Failure problem of the 2005 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 11/01/2011

The speedometer fails to represent true vehicle speed. Using a gps we can monitor the inaccuracy in the gauge reading. The speedometer reflects a speed of 25 when actual speed is 45. This becomes worse as the vehicle is driven as the speedometer completely fails to register speed. An identical issue was pr3esent on a 2003 cheverolet truck we own which was repaired by gm under an in-house program resulting from a lawsuit. Gm has declined to repair this same problem on this model. If a driver cannot accurately determine his/her spped at any given moment the possiblility for safety related instances are increased for the driver and others.

2 Speedometer/odometer Failure problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 02/19/2007

On my 2004 GMC Envoy xl the speedometer has failed at about 39000 miles. It does not indicate an exact speed, sometimes it moves, sometimes it doesn't.
