This SUV made a loud sound, began to drift, in the rear, at hwy speeds before it tipped over and began to roll, ejecting my two minor sons from the passenger cab before it eventually landed on its side. The roof was molded in a triangular shape, preventing it from resting on the roof as it tilted back onto inside and remains after the last roll the triangular shape was created in the metal after the stabilizing structures gave way almost immediately providing possibly no protection to the patrons inside the carrier cab of SUV. Demonstrating its inability protect its occupants.
I was driving down the road when the car shut down everything I was scared because I had traffic right behind me going 45mph and then they car would not run again. I was right in the middle of an inter section at hall road and 59 it was the scariest thing that has happened to me. I bought this vehicle as a used auto and I'm not sure if the emmission system ever got changed and this happened once before and the dealer said not to drive with my house keys attached. I had to get the auto towed home.

The initial time (3/14) it occurred, I was out of town with my family, embarrassed to say the least. However, mainly uncomfortable, tired, and frustrated because my 87 years old dad was stranded for hours as well as my 66 years old sister who is recovering from cancer. This problem was a serious problem because of our location. We had gone to get dinner and ice cream after getting ice cream we back in the vehicle for it would not start. I called 911 no police ever showed nor would even stop to assist. After 2 1/2 hours, we contacted a church member to find out about a mechanic in the area that could possibly come check it out. Another church member came to check it first, by now 3 hours have lapsed and the vehicle starts. After this it has happened on three (3) separate occasions with me (3/19, 3/20, & 3/21) but my mechanic said it happened with him 3 or 4 times while he was driving it to check it out and while it was sitting just running not being driven. I was on the interstate once, once driving, and once parked and it would not start. The times I was by myself once was on the interstate, another was going through an intersection, and once was in a high crime area where I felt very unsafe for my vehicle and myself. My mechanic replaced the crankshaft and camshaft sensors and the problem persists. I had a diagnostic test performed but was told the items listed on the test may be the problem. I have also had a problem with it accelerating while driving as if the gas is not distributing properly. It was as if it was choking up as if there was a clog. A dangerous place to be in traffic or going across a railroad track, which it has occurred several times with me. I actually was almost rear ended on the interstate.

The dash cluster does not work correctly, all the lights turn on and doors lock while I am driving on in town or on the highway , all the gauges come on at once while driving on the streets at random times. . The rear has airbags in the suspension and and aren't working properly, I took it to the shop and they said it had 30 codes on the diagnostic machine but they couldn't find the problem.
Speedometer flucuates past 120 and sometimes drops past 0 while driving. The fuel gauge will show full even when it's not.
This is a very unsafe vehicle. I purchased it for my husband and have seldom drove until recently when he was injured driving it. He drove through our garage and demolished it. I how drive it and find the brake and gas pedals the worst problem. No matter what shoes or boots you are wearing you cannot control the vehicle. It has cost us thousands in damage and repairs. I do not have pictures, but will obtain them and forward them. The car was just pulling up to be parked outside by out garage when the problem occured. The weather was fine-August 2017. It was just getting dark. This vehicle should be taken off the road ASAP until it is repaired or replaced by GMC. My son drives a used GMC and it has none of these problems. The picture I am sending you is of jack benjamin blazek, a technician at bretting manufacturing, inc. In ashland. Ben has also built dirt track race cars and I have built john deere combines.

I was stopped at a light when the car accelerated on its own, I pressed the brake but the car would not stop . I hit car the car in front of me, I had to put car in neutral to stop the car. Car was towed to dealer, the cause was a internally shorted throttle body. The throttle body was replaced. This was the third time car accelerated on own and would not stop. The first two times my mechanic could not find any problem.
The vehicle will abruptly go from 70 mph to 30's (semi-trailer closing in fast) and I can't do a thing about it!! service stabilitrack has been a thorn while under warranty and persists to be a problem now that it is out of warranty! from early on, <10,000 miles and over 10 times since, this vehicle had been in to two different dealers and the problem, though intermittent, still exists and is a huge danger to me and my kids but I can't just go buy another car or trade this in like some people (including the car dealership managers) portray is the best option when I should be able to get gm to fix the car or replace it when they can't seem to figure out why the problem persists. But that hasn't been the only problem: gear band broke twice on the transmission, had to have transmission rebuilt because of faulty radiator, and other issues however none of the problems remotely compare to having taken it in for service because of the repeated unexplained DE-acceleration and loss of ability to make the car do anything except pull to the side of the road and give it ten minutes to stop having a "tantrum" of sorts while traffic whizzes by and thankfully didn't hit us (yet). Exterior / aesthetics, I love this vehicle but poor function and even worse service of problems. I've reported it to corporate but they don't care and despite it having had been into the dealership numerous times prior to end of warranty, now they just want me to start paying them for all these fixes that haven't fixed anything. Once I started paying for fixes and then started complaining that they aren't covering what they've never fixed; the manager had the nerve to say he'd pay for it out of his own pocket if he knew it would fix it . . . Hello. . . Why should the consumer pay for it when the problem is never really fixed.
While in motion only, a engine light accompanied by a reduced engine power engages making the vehicle unmanageable to response and cause the vehicle to stall.

Speedometer continually gets stuck at random mph.
While driving the Envoy at about 45 mph, a warning light saying "reduced engine power" came on suddenly, the car dropped down to about 20 mph, and that continues to occur. I can turn off and restart the car, but the problem returns within a minute after driving it again. I started investigating what that means online, and, as with anything else on the internet, I see many opinions, guesses, and possibilities. Could be a bad sensor, bad throttle control, bad wire connections, etc. But this much appears clear: (1) it is a gm problem, and a very, very common one. (2) it is a dangerous problem. This seems pretty obvious - the car suddenly loses speed and evidently sometimes stalls out altogether. But hearing about so many other people's scary experiences just confirms this. (3) it can be difficult and expensive to diagnose and fix. When I think of these facts, coupled with gm's recent history, I immediately think "recall. " this certainly appears to be an appropriate situation for a manufacturer to step in and fix the issue before more people get angry with gm, get hurt, or get killed. I called the dealer who sold the car (I am the second owner), in columbus, ohio. I was told that I can bring it in for a diagnosis for $110. (gee, thanks - wouldn't have thought of that. ) the customer rep looked up the VIN and said that the vehicle was not eligible for recall or any special policy. Therefore, I am contacting you in hope that something else can be done.
Vehicle loses power drastically when going up any incline. Was going 65 and speed dropped to 35 going up slight grade hill.
While driving my 2005 GMC Envoy my speedometer will stop working and register as 0 mph even when I am moving. It also has shown me travelling at a much higher speed at times. There are many issues with this that I've found while searching the web. It is unnerving and dangerous to not know the speed you are traveling. I have started to use a gps system when I drive to show my speed.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy. While in park, the vehicle independently reversed and crashed into a tree. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Vehicle power steering hose busted. My truck isn't idling right it sounds like my transmission is slipping. Also my tire traction seems off and I repeatedly have to put air in tires. Tires always makes a certain sound on the highway, I don't know if its normal or not.
Tl * the contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly decelerated to 20 mph. The air bag and check engine warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle veered to the right. The speed returned to normal when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The failure occurred on ten different occasions. The manufacturer was notified. The dealer stated that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000.
The speedometer and oil pressure gauges are irratic. Speedometer needle sometimes reads up to 30 mph above or below actual speed. Concurrently the oil pressure gauge is reading at its max and will not return to 0 when the vehicle is turned off. I have researched this issue online and it seems to be happening to a lot of people who have cars with these panels.
The first day we had the truck the speedometer displayed the wrong speed and has been that way. It works occasionally. Then a week later the low beam head lights went out while driving. They came back on after a few mins. This happened again a few days ago. The fuel gage is in accurate as well. I took it to a shop and they said the instrument cluster needs to be replaced but found no issues with the head lights but there is deffinately an issue with the headlights and that is very dangerous.
Driving in a school zone looked at speedometer to check speed I was in a 40 mph zone and speedometer said I was doing 70 mph. School zone had a " your speed is" display and I was only going 38 mph. The speedometer increased as I increased speed but was 30 mph over. After I got home and turned my truck off the speedometer still showed mph.
The speedometer does not function properly anymore. This is a recurring problem in GMC Envoys, but gm will not acknowledge nor fix the issue. Speedometer currently shows I'm doing 60 mph while parked. This is a safety issue because drivers dont really know how fast they are going. . . . . .
Fuel light came on, speedometer stopped working, engine cut off. Before that, the muffler started making rumbling noise. I had just fueled the vehicle. Findings by aaa: abs bad had to be replaced 1056$ and realignment. 2. Exhaust manifold and pipe replacement 400. Dont know about fuel system yet brakes /abs is 3rd time since buying the car in 2006. 2nd time for engine issues. Car started overheating on beltway this week and blower motor not working right. Also have issues with window passenger side front wont work now and rear wiper stopped working. Holy you know! think I got a lemon!.
Tl - the contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy denali. The contact stated that while coming to a stop, the vehicle lurched forward without warning. The contact mentioned that the failure would occurs on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the repairs were unknown. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 99,000 and the current mileage was 112,000. Dr.
While going approximately 60 mph the low beam headlights just go out with only the parking lights and fog lights working. Also most of the gauges on the instrument panel do not work including the gas gauge. After some internet research many others are having these same issues.
The speedometer begins to give faulty readings. At first it was reporting approximately 20 miles per hour under actual speed. This almost caused a crash due to excessive unknown speed. In the last few days the speedometer starts at 60 mph and is off by approximately the same amount so when traveling 50 mph the speedometer reads 110 mph. This is a massive safety issue and there are numerous reports about this yet no recalls. How many people must be injured or killed before you take action.
Speedometer erratic. Stays at 120mph at all speeds until vehicle is not driven. Driven again, does not work at all or is erratic showing multiple speeds. As an example, freeway speed of approximately 70 speedometer will read 0 at times, 40 at times or even may read 120, very erratic.
The speedometer stops working after about two hours of driving. It goes to zero. It sometimes starts again if the vehicle is stopped and started again, but it will quit working if a long drive continues. It works perfectly when driving around town on short trips. The service bulletin apparently says to "clean ground connection". However, this did not fix the problem. I am told I need to have speedometer replaced at a cost of over $600. 00.
My speedometer stopped working. It used to either stay on 0 or go up to 90. I have been stopped several times for speeding because I can not deternine my speed. Since that broke, I have also lost all of my other instruments, including gas. . . I ran out of gas on route 495 in the middle lane going about 60 mpg!!! thankfully I did not panic and was able to get my flashers on and move into the slow lane and tehn to the break down lane. I have had many people tell me this is a recall on the GMC pick up trucks but not the Envoy!!!! does someone need to get killed in order to have this corrected?.
The speedometer stopped working and reads 120 miles an hour no matter how fast I'm traveling. I currently use my gps to watch my speed. This is unsafe and this is a on-going compliant for many consumers. Gm should be aware of this dangerous and irresponsible assemble of this vehicle.
While traveling on the interstate this morning, the speed on my 2006 GMC Envoy dropped suddenly and I had to pull to the side the road where the car completely stopped. I notified onstar, who performed a diagnostic test and indicated there was an issue with the fuel delivery system. The car would start up again, but only momentarily and the engine would die again. I had it towed to my home and am contemplating what to do at this point in terms of repair. There was another issue just over 2 months ago when the fuel gauge was not working and it ran out of gas. No indicator light ever came on. There was at least 15 gallons of gas in the vehicle today, as I had just filled it up a few days ago and had not traveled far. I have filled it up every weekend since the indicator light incident. About 2 years ago, I had to replace other parts related to the fuel. . Possibly called a fuel regulator?? which was mounted to the gas tank. This occurred at 37,000 miles. I was denied an inspection sticker because of an issue with emissions and had to replace that part as well.
Fuel gauges is showing empty when the vehicle is full of gasoline. Odometer is not reading the correct speed. Temperature gauge is malfunctioning. On google several complaints about this is widely known. What is GMC doing to resolve these issues? the tax payers help bail out GMC and now we are not being treated unfairly where is our justice? please help, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The speedometer on my 2005 GMC Envoy has stopped working properly & also the thermostat gauge & the gas gauge. This is a common problem among Envoy owner's & is a safety issue. The instrument cluster needs to be recalled & replaced.
I was driving down the highway when I noticed that the speedometer indicated that I was going 90+ mph. I slowed down to the point that people were passing me in a 65mph zone and my speedometer was indicating 60 mph. I pulled over and stopeed the vehicle and the speedometer needle continued to eradically go up and down.
I was driving down the road and fist off, my speedometer went crazy. Then my fuel gauge went all the way to full, then to empty. Then it wouldn't work at all. There was plenty of gas in the tank too, I took to a mechanic and he replaced thermostat, but it didn't fix the problem. I'm still having the problem and heard there is a recall on the 2005-2007, and it appears I'm having the same problem on this 2003 that they are having now with the newer ones and the 2003 should be included in a recall. Please evaluate. I only have 107k miles on the truck. I was told, a recall could cover up to 120k miles, so I still have some way to go before I should not be included in the recall. My service engine light is staying on too, although it's been checked numerous times and it's always something to do with the fuel system and too expensive to get fixed. Now I am having major problems because of it.
