3 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2005 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 03/03/2005

The only problem is with the memory seats and mirrors. On prior year Envoys, when you pressed the unlock button on the remote, the seats and mirrors would recall to that drivers position. Now you have to push the 1 or 2 button on the door, while in park, to recall the seat and mirror positions. There is no tie with the remote and the memory seats. I don't know why gm would do away with this feature, but it is very inconvenient and in my opinion - a big step backwards.

4 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 06/09/2003

While waiting to proceed in traffic with foot on brake and car in drive, engine suddenly stalled out and was unable to be restarted. Also, driverside mirror keeps resetting when unlocking the automatic doors. Wipers don't function properly when in intermittent mode. Car is at dealer now, hopefully they can resolve this. Vehicle is equipped with rainsense automatic rain sensing wipers. Rainsense works only when in intermittent mode. Settings adjust sensitivity of wipers but not frequency. Wiper fails to make a complete smooth pass across windshield. They stop several times during their sweep and stutter. After a few second pause they resume their sweep. Wipers work fine when set to standard high or low wiper settings.

9 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 02/01/2002

All these problems come and go, somtimes depending on the outside temperature. Some of it got fixed and came back again. The major problems are that the vehicle shuts down without any warning - no engine no electric nothing-, so its even not possible to call on star! the other thing is that the transmission start to shift gears while driving on a leveled raod at consistant speed. All this items got fixed and come back after a while. Dt.

10 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 01/31/2002

Mirrors 'wander' every time vehicle is unlocked, fail to return to settings creating an unreasonable danger to the occupants of this vehicle as well as other vehicles when changing lanes or merging into traffic due to lack of visability of the area behind the vehicle. Transmission failed on a slight incline with parking brake engaged and transfer case locked and in 4wd and transmission in park - vehicle began rolling backwards down the slight grade. There was a recall for this problem - campaign was completed at dealer, but fix is unknown to the owner.

11 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 01/18/2002

The memory mirror feature on the vehicle worked for a while, then failed. Every time I get in the car the mirrors would set themselves incorrectly at angles that render them useless. I have been to the dealership 3 times, and they have been great to work with. They have tried everything gm suggests but the problem still keeps coming back. While this issue may at first seem minor, it really is a serious safety issue as it requires the outside mirrirs to have to be reset before every drive. Having your mirrors in proper setting is critical to the safe operation of a vehicle. Gm does not seem to take the problem seriously enough to find a permanent fix.

12 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 11/08/2001

The 2002 GMC Envoy electronic operation of side view mirrors does not work consistently. The mirrors would reposition themselves randomly while the vehicle was in motion. GMC had serviced the vehicle numerous times, although the computer had been upgraded, the mirror motors have been replaced more than once and the mirrors have been reset several times under warranty, but the problem continued.

13 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 10/25/2001

Memory mirrors do not return to the correct settings. Consumer was orginally told there was no problem; however, two dealerships had duplicated the problem and could not fix it. Had it in a total of 8 times, and several parts of vehicle have been replaced, including mirrors/ mirror actuators/ liftgate control module , and driver's side door control module. This mirror defect was similar to the ones mentioned in odi id numbers 755966, 757526, 757914, 759042, 759973, 760504 and 8000646. Consumer's file number with GMC has been 1-11855349. This was very unsafe because when thinking that mirrors were set, they were not. At night or in the dark consumer must wait to see a light to set them. Dt.

14 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 10/08/2001

Mirrors will not hold programed settings. When starting the vehicle, they have to be reset, when changing from one direction to another, they need to be reset. Multiple "save" of the settings makes not difference. Drivers seat will not move into the easy exit position which is also a program feature that is not saved. Mirrors go so far out of direction that you either look at the pavement, the sky or three lanes to the right or left.

15 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 10/02/2001

Mirrors problem - the outside mirrors emit a disturbing whistling noise when exceeding 45 mph. It appears that the seems of the outside casing are causing the noise. Dealer says gm has no solution to problem. Steering problem - a grunt/crunch noise emits from the passenger front wheelwell when taking sharp left turns. No problems with right turns. Dealer has been notified.

16 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 10/02/2001

Both outside mirrors emit an irratating high-pitched whistle when exceeding 45 mph. Dealer says there is no remedy at this time. Dealer also advisded me that gm is aware of the problem but is not sure if or when a remedy will be developed and available. Excessive wind noise in general is also a concern.

17 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 06/09/2000

Re odi#10026102: vehicle with stalling problem brought to dealer who detected no defect. Dealer unable to rectify problem. I hope stalling problem does not occur at highway speeds as it has with other vehicles, same make and model. Dealer stated wandering driverside mirror fixed. We'll see.

18 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2000 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 06/01/2000

The 2000 GMC Envoy is equipped with electrically folded outside rearview mirrors. On vehicle start, the right outside mirror of my vehicle would fold forward against the "a" pillar from its normal driving position. This occurred multiple times with different drivers. Several times the driver did not notice this had happened until the vehicle was in motion. The immediate corrective action was to use the mirror fold control switch to fold the mirrors back to their stowed position against the door glass. The mirror fold control switch was then manually repositioned and the mirrors both moved out to their normal driving position. The mirror fold control switch is awkward for the driver to operate with the vehicle in motion. The dealer solution was to replace the entire right outside mirror assembly under warranty. (this also solved another incidental complaint that the mirror glass adjustment actuators moved jerkily. ) the dealer stated this was a common problem and its cause was still being evaluated.

21 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Vehicle comes equipped with an automatic rear view mirror adjusting system. While driving the mirror goes out of its setting and readjusts itself. This causes poor visibility.

22 Rearview Mirror problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Consumer states that driver's and passenger's outside mirrors are too small for the vehicle. Not able to se on coming cars. When the mirrors are set they will not stay set on that position.
