1 Windshield Wiper/washer Motor problem of the 2003 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 06/13/2007

I was driving on 6/13/07 & it was raining I had the windshield wipers on, and when it stopped raining, approximately 45 minutes later, I turned off the wipers. However, they never cut off. I tried everything turned them on & off but they continued to stay on. I tried to find the fuses but couldn't. So I went to wilton motors nearby & the service desk person came out and took out the fuse for me. I made a appointment for the next day 06/14/07. Later, I looked up the problem on the internet & found NHTSA recall 04v046000. On the way to the dealer on 6/14/07 I called the 800 number for GMC to verify the recall. I was told that this vehicle wasn't a part of that recall. I told the representative that this vehicle had the same problem as stated in the recall o & it was the same model year. I asked to speak to a supervisor , who told me the same thing except that she would contact the dealer, and there. If there was water in the module it would be covered under the warranty, when I called about the SUV I was told it would cost $320. 00, but because GMC didn't have it on a open recall I would have to pay. They have to order the module & it must go back there tomorrow 06/15/07. I called the 800 # again & left a voice mail message explaining what the representative said. Would file a law suit if this was not covered under the recall.

3 Windshield Wiper/washer Motor problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 10/26/2006

I am writing this complaint on a recall that already exist and has not been resolved properly. I am the owner of a GMC Envoy 2002. In 2004 there was a safety recall that because of water getting into the wiper motor that the motor would fail and cause an accident. Well the fix for this was to put a cover over the wiper motor in most cases. Well my self and other trailblazer and Envoy owners now are seeing the effects of the damage that was done to our wiper motors since 2002. The motor is beginning to skip or sometimes fail because it is slowly rusting from before. Gm need to come up with a real solution to this problem and actually make these vehicles safe.

Recall 04v046000/windshield wiper visibility. Owner received notification for this recall from the manufacturer in October, 2004. Owner took the vehicle to the dealer, and had a sealer kit installed which was a patch to cover a hole for the windshield motor. Corrosion got inside because of the water leaking into the motor. Because of the leaking water it caused the p. C. Board to short out. Now the motor is dead because of the corrosion. . . . . .

8 Windshield Wiper/washer Motor problem of the 1998 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 10/19/2004

Wiper malfunction with exact symptoms that the newer GMC SUV are having. Mechanics are using the same part on all vehicles and it occurs spiratically. Dealers are saying this controlling device is common to have this occur. The wiper motor sometimes just stop or change speed on it's own and it has be occuring from 96 to current and they only want to replace certain ones. I own a 98 GMC Envoy and this problem is happening. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does it is dangerous to be driving in the vehicle especially traveling at higher speeds when it is raining.
