I have been reading many of these post. I can't believe all of the things that have also happened to my Envoy. I have had my back window blow out while driving, thank god that both of my kids that were in the back seat were not hurt, they were just scared and still ask if it will happen again. I also recently just had to have a piece on the gas line fixed which was almost $900. 00 money that I didn't have and had to borrow. I am still paying it back. Now as for last night my low beams are not working, I bought new bulbs and that didn't work, so it is back to the mechanic. Oh and I have a check engine light that goes on and off. They really need to get on all of these things. It would be nice to have the car working the way it should be. I may just print these things up and bring to the GMC shop and see what the can do about it. I mean I really to love my SUV but this is crazy. I am now kind of scared to have my kids in the car.

2006 GMC Envoy. Consumer writes in regards to driver door module recall notice. The local dealer informed the consumer, the recall was listed. However, the consumer received a recall notice.
At approximately 8 am Friday January 27th I opened the back hatch of my GMC Envoy. Approximately 4-6 inches pulling it down to shut it the entire window shattered all over me, the ground and inside my car. I called my insurance, paid the deductible to have it replaced, it was fixed and then today January 28th, one day after having it replaced I was closing the door again and at approximately the same point in closing it completely shattered again. This is twice in two days. I was told the first time it probably had to do with the weather but the weather was warmer today than yesterday and several forums have shown this problem occurring in all weather conditions. This seems to be a vehicle issue vs a weather issue.

While driving our 2006 GMC Envoy denali on a paved road in the morning of may 29th, the read window exploded in tiny pieces. No one was located in the back of the vehicle at the time and no vehicles were on the road at the time. The morning temp. Was around 35 degrees. Similar incidents have been reported of the rear window exploding.
On a cold cleveland ohio day, I started my 2004 GMC Envoy and turned on my rear defrost, and about 5 minutes later my rear window just exploded! I was on the highway, and the sound was like a gunshot, and it nearly caused me to get into an accident, but I managed to pull my car off the road safely.
Weather is in the single digits and I parked my 2007 Envoy denali in my drive. I don't have a garage so it sits out in the extreme heat add cold. I thought I heard a noise outside and when I looked out my rear window was completely shattered. Nothing hit it, nobody was down our isolated lane, it just decided to fail. I looked online and there are other owners mentioning similar problems with Envoys and trailblazers over the years. I have had multiple vehicles over my 54 years and I have never heard of a rear window exploding on it's own. To cut to the chase my vehicle was 9 months out of warranty, but I did get some money from the gm rep and the dealership. They told me the cost of the replacement was $850 and I was asked to chip in $200. I think this is different than tires or brakes wearing out with time and I thought they should completely cover the window failure. I am concerned that in another few years I could have the same problem because my car sits out in the elements. It was a mess but I couldn't help but think of the inconvenience and problems I could have had if it failed while traveling or on vacation. The security of the vehicle was compromised with the rear window completely gone and no alarm when the break occurred. Fortunately I was home and could keep out the elements before I could get it repaired. I feel my dealer did what they could, but I think in this case gm should have done more.
I have a 2002 GMC Envoy. The sideview mirrors are do not stay in position and move every time the vehicle is started. This is extremely dangerous and I have tried everything to get it fixed. The dealer actually tried to tell me he never heard of the problem. I see that many others have the same aggravating problem. When is GMC going to own up and fix this?.

My 2003 GMC Envoy xl sle has a latch problem on the back doors, it has already been fixed but isn't resolved and the driver headlamp constantly burns out, 3 times in the last 2 months. I called on a recall but there isn't one. Its going to cause an accident at some point. The last time I tried to fix it the socket was burnt and plastic melted, that could've caused a major fire. I am very unhappy and don't know what can be done here, im going to get in big trouble because I can't put in another bulb it will cause more fire.

My speedometer has stopped working. The gas gauge says empty when I have just fueled the car to full. The car will surge forward when I am backing out of the drive way and putting car in drive. I have to immediately press on the brake and return the car to neutral position to stop from running into parked cars or the curb. Tonight we were leaving the park and both headlights ( low beam) are not working. All other lights and flashers on the car work. The interior light on the left half of the a/c controller does not work. The motor in the rear window went out. The dealership charged me $ 1000 to replace the motor and then they advised me that the middle window motor was bad and that would be an additional $600 to repair. I only could afford the back window motor. This car is my only mode of transportation and I cannot believe that gm has npt placed a recall on all of these issues.
We have a 2004, GMC Envoy xuv, which we purchase brand new in 2004. Since last year winter, I noticed that my speedometer would get stuck and run erratically, which I thought at the time was due to the cold. Occasionally too, we'd come to the garage to find the rear window open and the tailgate unable to open. During those times, we were able to bring the window back up with the button inside the vehicle, as well as unlock the tailgate by locking and unlocking the doors with the remote. Also, the truck would stall during driving, especially at turns, but would start again. Just last week, my wife was just about to leave home last week, when she noticed the rear tailgate window had gone down by itself as usual; following which all electronic efforts to bring it up failed, and the tailgate or roof wouldn't open as well. Then, we heard some humming inside the tailgate. My wife left home only to have the truck's battery fail at the local mall. Since then, the instrument cluster has also continuously gone haywire, with the speedometer reading erratically as well as the oil pressure gauge. The dealership says there are no recalls regarding any of these manufacturing defects, and my research indicates these are problems most GMC Envoy xuv owners are experiencing, without recourse of having it fixed by gm at no charge. Now, we know why they have lost the market share to japan vehicles, because our next vehicle will never be a gm, unless all these problems are recalled and fixed. We'll also ensure to mount a lack-of-confidence campaign against gm vehicles with everyone we know, if nothing is done about ASAP by gm.
I having problems with my stabilitrak system the engine lights comes on and I just had the thermostat sensors change which took them three time to find the problem and my drivers window sensors was replaced and there a sudden thumb when you brake as thought you have been hit from behind.

I traded my 2005 Ford focus 26410 miles to wade raulerson GMC on October 3, 2007 wrote two checks in the amount of 500. 00 each that they held for four weeks for a down payment. We looked at a 2004 GMC Envoy with 65,000 miles the salesman quoted us a price of 17,000 so we did the paper work the first time on the 16th we were called in again and told we had to sign more documents this time the price of the Envoy rose to 21698. 35, I asked about my 05 focus was told it sold the next day and we had to have gap protection. Payoff on my car was 12,502. 95 and it looked as if they were giving me 14900. 00 but raised the price of the truck by 4000. 00. Bad deal to begin with. The problems began. I had to return it at the end of the month in October 2007 to have the headlights, seatbelt, and motor in the window replaced, and diagnosed to find why the service engine light will not go out. Two weeks later stranded at the daycare I had to buy a new battery. On 05/05/2008 the conditioner went out. I paid the dealership over 100. 00 to tell me it would be an additional 600. 00 plus dollars to repair the mode actuator door motor. October 17, 2008 I spent 375. 02 to have both the shift control cable and gear shift lever removed and replaced. Thank god I was actually on a parking lot when the cable broke and not in traffic. Contacting wade raulerson GMC has been useless I have practically been told you bought the "lemon" as-is now it's your troubles! there should be a law against this type of business and not just for new cars. Now no-one will touch it because of the problems it is having and the large amount that's now owed. Every time the VIN is pulled I get pushed out of the door faster than I can blink. Btw the service engine light is still on and has been since I left the dealership. I?m tired of honest hard-working people being raked over the coals by unscrupulous dealers while they get protected by the "as-is" rule then laugh all the way to the bank.
No way to turn off the air/vent/heat system. Breeze blowing in 24x7 and the "recirculate" button only works when the fan is on. Extremely irritating when driving behind a bus, or in a dust storm, or during a fire. It is highly irritating to have air blowing in your eyes all the time, or on your feet making you cold; or the opposite during the summer. What if I don't want air blowing on me, hot or cold? I think it is dangerous to have to always fiddle with the temperature controls trying to make it comfortable while driving. If I had known this car was designed like this, I never would have bought it. Now I'm stuck with a car payment I never had before and a very sad situation.
About a year ago, my back window would sometimes just go down. After about a month the window motor started running and running trying to put the window up, although it wouldn't go up. Took it to the dealer and 700 miles over the warranty. . . Wouldn't cover it, so $400 to repair the regulator. Now, the mid window is down and won't work. The quote for this is $500. After reading other complaints on this same issue - gm should supply the regulator at no cost. Some peoples windows have actually exploded. . . . Now that sounds dangerous.
The rear driver door popped open and won't close. The fan clutch failed 2 weeks after I purchased the vehicle. I thought the transmission went out because it was winding really high and not driving normally. Also the rear passenger doors on both sides have malfunctioned. The window on the passenger rear went out. I have not corrected the failures as of now.
I have 2004 Envoy have had problems with alternator. Started about 6 months after I bought the Envoy had I replaced 3 times then started having problems with back seat window on passenger side not rolling up. Then my girlfriend had a flat on side of road and could not get spare down I had to go out and cut the cable that holds it up. That is a unsafe thing to do on side of hwy should not take 45 min to get spare down. Headlights dim and brighten gets dim enough that makes hard to see.
Vehicle was brought in for several problems. Side view mirror problem [not staying set] was resolved until today when side view mirror again malfunctioned within one week of being repaired by dealer.
