1997 GMC Safari brake failed completely no rear no front suspect it was the anti lock control under the drivers seat . No leaks visible.

2 Brakes Failed problem of the 2000 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 08/15/2007

Total brake failure during low speed, hard left turn into parking space on dry pavement. Brake pedal went to floor, pulsing. Vehicle continued into concrete barrier. Exterior damage: bumper, grill, and hood crumpled. Interior damage to engine compartment unk. No repairs attempted at this time. Vehicle drivable, brakes now appear to be functioning normally. Jb.

3 Brakes Failed problem of the 2002 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 09/12/2003

While driving at 30 mph in rush hour traffic consumer tried to apply the brakes but the brakes locked up. Vehicle shuddered, the abs kicked in, and a collision occurred. Consumer felt that the brakes failed. The dealer have been notified of the problem.

4 Brakes Failed problem of the 2002 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 07/30/2003

Vehicle had brake failure while going down an incline. Brake pedal went all the way to the floor but didn't hold. The vehicle was totaled. Consumer felt gm should replace the vehicle.

5 Brakes Failed problem of the 2001 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 01/15/2003

2001 gm Safari. The consumer states the brakes will not work for a couple of seconds and vehicle could slide into the intersection. Wife was scared to drive the car. The consumer went to different dealers, they told him that it may be that the wheels needed to be repacked. . The consumer took vehicle took to local repair shop, the consumer was told they never heard of such a thing. The vehicle had 58,000 miles. Brake failure started within months after the consumer purchased the vehicle. Brakes became worse. The consumer could not keep front tires from wearing out.

6 Brakes Failed problem of the 1997 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 09/28/2002

The consumer stated that the brakes failed causing the vehicle to hit a parked vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a mecahnics garage where they found that all the mechanical linkages and hydraulics were intact, however the abs interface on the computer board was faulty, thereby disabling the entire braking system.

7 Brakes Failed problem of the 1996 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 10/26/2001

My vehicle was moving about 10 m. P. H. In preparation to stop behind several vehicles at a red light. I applied my brakes in an attempt to come to a complete stop; however, the brakes failed to engage. I then put full pressure on the brake pedal. The pedal went down almost to the floor, but the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. As a result of this brake failure, my vehicle struck the vehicle in front of it which in turn struck a third vehicle. My vehicle was towed to a mechanic who was able to duplicate the failure. At this time however, he is unable to determine what is causing the failure.

8 Brakes Failed problem of the 1999 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 05/15/2000

Brakes failed on three occasions, pedal would go to the floor intermittently. Dealer notified, and unable to locate the problem.
