On 01 Nov, I was pulling into a parking spot when my brakes totally failed causing me to crash into a parked car. I was entering the parking spot below 5 mph when the brakes failed. 3 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2005

My 2002 GMC Sierra 4wd p/u with 28,570 miles had "abs brake" failure. I came close to going through my garage door because of this and am glad it didn't happen at a busy intersection!! there is a recall on my vehicle for this problem, however it only applies to the "salt belt" states and wisconsin is not included!! unbelievable!! the dealership (von holzen) in ashland WI. Replaced abs sensors p/n 15112379 ($225) also they had to replace both front brake rotors which could not be refaced as they would have been below specs. The whole bill came to $513. 61!! I can't believe GMC doesn't have a recall for all states on the abs problem before there are abs caused fatalities!! von holzen dealership phone # 8003415440 has the old part.

6 Brake Sensor problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2004

Dt:the consumer complained about the abs braking system at low speeds. The dealer told him that there was nothing else they could do for the vehicle because the warranty expired. This was the second time that the hubs have been replaced at the consumers expense. He heard there will be a recall in November, but they were only going to clean the sensors and not replace the hubs. His vehicle was purchased in pennsylvania. In August of 2004 the first hub was replaced, and in November 2004 he replaced the second hub. On October 26, 2005 the vehicle was taken to the dealership and both hubs need to be replaced again. Updated 11/29/05.
