The failure mileage was 3,000.

2 Car Accelerates On Its Own problem of the 2009 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 10/14/2009

The contact owns a 2009 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that there was a delay whenever he attempted to accelerate, once it engaged the vehicle accelerated unexpectedly. As a result he had to use both feet to engage the brakes in order to slow down the vehicle. The failure recurred causing the vehicle to crash into another vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but they offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 2,000 and the current mileage was 22,000.

3 Car Accelerates On Its Own problem of the 1999 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 04/16/2001

When turning engine off, minutes later would try to start engine, and throttle was opened. Then, tapped on gas pedal and idle will go to one rpm. Other consumer experienced sudden acceleration. Dealer said that throttle body was deffective.

While driving the vehicle experienced sudden acceleration at a high speed without prior warning which almost resulted in an accident. Was able to stop the vehicle with the brakes. Also, dealer replaced the transmission.
