When driving at highway speed or accelerating the back of the truck will violently vibrate. At time it is almost uncontrollable and becomes very hard to steer. I so I have researched this issue and it seems that there are many complaints about this exact issues with 2014 to 2019 chevy and GMC trucks. I just had the alignment done and brand new tires put on it the truck 6-22-20. Now the truck shakes even more then it did before.

My speedometer recently malfunctioned at around 77,000 miles and I brought it to the attention of the dealership's service manager, jeff bevington, at rally GMC auto group in palmdale, CA (where I purchased the vehicle new in 2005). I was given service bulletin #07187c - special coverage adjustment instrument panel cluster gauge needle function (March 20, 2009), which indicates the following: this bulletin is being revised to include certain 2005 model year vehicles in the u. S. Additionally, for u. S. 2003-2005 model year vehicles, gm will provide the instrument panel cluster (ipc) only, at no charge to the customer for verified failures between 70,001 miles (110,001 km) and 80,000 miles (130,000 km). Any additional costs, including labor to replace the instrument panel cluster, will be the responsibility of the customer. Dealers will be responsible for the return of the customer's ipc back to the electronic service center. Please discard all copies of bulletin 01787b, issued September 2008. The VIN breakouts of vehicles involved in the bulletin include 2005 GMC Sierra between 51100001 and 51347001. However, jeff bevington told me that since my vehicle is older than 7 years and over 70,000 miles, it is not covered??? he suggested I call the gm toll free number (800) 222-1020 and ask if they can help. I called and spoke to dontes who told me that gm has no record of the service bulletin mentioned above???.

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that when moving from a stop, the accelerate pedal was depressed but the vehicle would hesitate to accelerate. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure and advised the contact that it was normal operation. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000. Ne.
Traveling at a low speed on my property and the truck intered into a "reduced power" mode. Which cut off all power to the drive train. You were left with no ability to go front or back. After shutting off the truck and restarting it returned to normal. Local GMC dealer says he gets one a month for this condition. Costs to repair exceeds a $1000. Lost of power could happen any time. Very dangerous situation.

I was approaching a stop light and applied pressure to the brake pedal. My foot went to the floor and the truck did not stop. I was able to activate the parking brake and safely stop the truck. On inspection, it was discovered that the factory installed steel brake lines failed due to corrosion. The vehicle is well cared for and has no signs of body rust but the brake lines are almost completely rusted away front to back.
The contact owns a 2012 GMC Sierra k-1500. The contact stated that while driving 75 mph, the vehicle began to decelerate as the warning lights in the instrument panel illuminated. The vehicle would not accelerate beyond 35 mph. The failure was resolved momentarily after the vehicle was restarted but soon recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they where unable to duplicate the failure. The failure was not reported to the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 7,000. The current mileage was 20,000. This is the point at which I discovered that I have bad tires. The tires have be come badly chipped and pieces of rubber tread began coming from tread area. The sidewalls discolored and began cracking. The tires started to loose air and had to be reinflatted all the time to present. Tire has same symtoms as re-called tires but michelin and gm would do nothing to help.
After applying brake to slow down to < 5 mph (not coming to a halt) and then trying to accelerate, vehicle becomes unresponsive for 1 to 2 seconds; it feels like the transmission goes into neutral during the braking period and when gas pedal is applied, there is a 1 - 2 second time period where vehicle is trying to figure out something and prevents any acceleration. Why is this dangerous? I found myself in a left turn only lane/green light with opposing traffic, and I attempted the left turn with oncoming traffic because I thought that I had ample time but the vehicle just sat there for 1 - 2 seconds, and with that I found myself in a dangerous predicament because the oncoming traffic was getting very close. If the vehicle had responded when I needed it to, it would not have been a close call. This behavior with the vehicle can be reproduced at will, every time. There are many forums on the internet where many people are complaining about this same issue with the drive-train, GMC knows about it, but refuses to do anything about it.
At any rate of speed truck will go into reduced engine power must pull over out of traffic and kill engine wait a couple of minutes and then restart sometimes you can go 1 mile till happens again sometimes 50 miles very dangerous situation in heavy traffic.
2003 GMC Sierra pick-up I was driving today about 45 to 50 miles an hour and was running great and about an hour later, my speedometer went up to 120 miles an hour and would not go back down. When I got home and put my vehicle in park, the speedometer would only go down to 70 miles an hour. I have almost 68000 miles on it. What is wrong and what can I do to get this fixed immediately before I get a ticket?.

When traveling at a slow speed, less than 10 miles per hour, if brake is applied the pedal rumbles and the truck continues to move unless I pump the brakes. This is happening during clear days no rain, snow or loose gravel. This incident is very similar to the one described in campaign number: 05v379000.
The contact owns a 2003 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that the vehicle speed control needle stopped working and it is currently stuck at 120 mph. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle speed control displayed 80 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for repair and they stated that it would cost $600, in which he would be responsible for paying. The gm manufacturer also stated that he would be liable for the speed control repair. The current and failure mileages were 44,550.
2004 GMC Sierra pickup with a bad icp)giving the wrong speedometer reading. Is this not a safety issue? to be in a vehicle that is not giving the correct speed. Cost for this repair is anywhere from $400 to $650. Why has there not been a recall on this from GMC. I have read pages on pages of people having the same problem and getting soaked for this money. GMC should be taking care of this problem not me.

Erratic speedometer - after 20-30min. Driving, needle will suddenly drop to 10mph and your still at 55 or higher. Will eventually go to 0. Once vehicled cools down, speedometer seems to work again, temporarily.
After sitting in stop-and-go traffic I noticed that the speedometer was reading at 100 mph and I was at a stop light. At the time, I had less than 50,000 miles on my truck. Since then the speedometer was almost always incorrect. It has occasionally fixed" itself, but usually did not last more than a day or two. The needle was often buried past 120 mph. A number of my friends and relatives with similar vehicles had the same problem. Currently I have not paid to have the problem fixed, but hope that it will be recalled at some point soon.
My speedometer went from working normally to now it sticks at various speeds at a stand still 70 to 80 mph or not working at all or over 100 mph when driving probably 30 mph am not sure how fast I am going. After researching to see if any others were having the same problem I found that many gm customers are experiencing the same problem with their speedometer. Some of them actually paying thousands of dollars while others are paying 4-7 hundred and still having the same problem hours later after paying to have it fixed. I called a nearby GMC dealer and asked if there was a recall for the speedometers they said that there was not but that they were getting a lot of calls for the same problem and that there was a lot of concern. I would like to request a recall of the speedometer equipment on 2004 gm trucks .
1) after passing 50,000 on my 04 GMC Sierra 2) speedometer stop working correcting resulting in two speeding tickets this past summer. 3) I took it to the dealer to only hear, it will cost you around $800. 00 to fix.
: the contact stated the speedometer instrument panel stopped working without prior warning. The dealer suggested replacing the speedometer instrument cluster panel. Although the vehicle was seen by a dealer, no repairs were made. Updated 02/21/06 .
The contact complained about many defects with this vehicle. The speedometer continually had an inaccurate read out while driving. The dealership believed this failure could be related to the wiring harness. Since they were unable to duplicate the problem no repairs were done. Also, the vehicle stalled at various speeds without warning. While the stalling occurred the contact pressed hard on the brakes to elevate the stalling. He believed this was due to the power brakes. The vehicle stalled on occasion and would not immediately restart. The dealership made numerous attempts to correct this problem w and all attempts have been unsuccessful. This included replacing the fuel pump and electrical control module.
Not able to control accelarator at all speeds on rough road conditions or bump at intersections.
Driving my 2003 GMC Sierra and the speedometer went out , it was going 100 miles per hour when I was going around 50 - 55 ? hard to tell it never right any more and I only have 58,000 on the odometer . This a safety problem and GMC should recall these clusters before people start getting hert because the speed is way of , and the dealers want use to pay around 1200. 00 to fix. This is a GMC fix not.
While driving any speed, the speedometer would read the wrong speed. The cause was not determined. Please provide more information.
The consumer was at a stand still when putting the vehicle in reverse, the consumer pressed the accelerator pedal and there was some resistance in the accelerator pedal and then the pedal dropped straight to the floor. When the vehicle was moving backwards, the owner hit the brake and the vehicle began to accelerate on it s own at a high rate of speed. The consumer crossed two lanes of traffic and hit a guard rail. Provide further details.

Since we've had this truck, the acelerator sticks and you have to press it hard to get the vehicle to move, then it races for a second and jumps forward or reverse. This happens when it is at a complete stop, when you're starting off. It is dangerous in traffic situations, such as frequent stop & go traffic, and when you're trying to maneuver in tight spaces, such as parking. I'm sure that it also causes excess fuel consumption.

While applying the accelerator pedal vehicle failed to move. After applying the accelerator pedal numerous times the vehicle jumped and surged forward. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection.
The vehicle would jerk forward 6 inches when started. This would occur when the vehicle was in the park position. The dealer told the consumer that nothing could be done. The problem also could not be duplicated.
Vehicle lurches forward upon start while the gear shift is in park. The service department suggested that nothing could be done.
While driving, coming to a complete sudden stop, and upon depressing the brakes pedal, they went completely to the floor, and the vehicle would not stop. The consumer then placed both feet on the brakes trying to stop the vehicle, the vehicle accelerated, resulting in an accident. The consumer rear ended another vehicle. The consumer requested to be reimbursed for the expenses.
When using feature "fly by wire throttle" the accelerator cannot be controlled. When encountering anything more than the slightest bump or variation in the road or on the highway, it was impossible to keep constant pressure on the accelerator. When the vehicle went over a bump etc. Action was unable to be controlled and the accelerator was severely depressed which caused an increase in speed and then a voluntary release of the accelerator, even when the consumer knew he was approaching a bump, he was unable to control the accelerator.
I am having trouble with my throttle when attempting to accelerate from idle. It feels as though something is sticking, then suddenly releasing once enough pressure is applied to the accelerator pedal. This results in the vehicle lunging forward every time.
