GMC Sierra owners have reported 38 problems related to instrument panel (under the electrical system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The transmission clunks when shifting from 2nd - 3 rd and at times the engine will rev and finally it will take off, this has caused an issue when going through an intersection. The dealership attempted four repairs and it is not fixed. The issue started when the vehicle had 6k miles on it and it is getting worse. The speedometer is sporadic in that it will show speed reduction/increase in segments - as if it were sticking. The erroneous speed indication causes an issue when going too slow or too fast in traffic.

Driving my 2003 GMC Sierra and the speedometer went out , it was going 100 miles per hour when I was going around 50 - 55 ? hard to tell it never right any more and I only have 58,000 on the odometer . This a safety problem and GMC should recall these clusters before people start getting hert because the speed is way of , and the dealers want use to pay around 1200. 00 to fix. This is a GMC fix not.
The speedometer on my 2003 GMC Sierra stopped working. First it would give inaccurate readings, then it stopped working all together.
