(1) defective catch on tailgate would not always keep gate closed
(2) gate unexpectedly opened traveling 35mph, loosing several pieces of furniture. Also, tailgate dropped onto highway damaging it badly. Discovered both cables rusted thru also. Could have caused accident or worse. (3) will bring into GMC dlr on first chance, 10/25/04.

While driving at 30 mph the consumer applied the brakes and the pedal went to the floor, resulting in extended stopping distance. The dealer replaced the rotors and pads twice, however the problem recurred. The vehicle also had tailgate and engine problems. The tires were replaced due to thread cracks.

There is no indication on the panel that there is pulsation. Also there is no abs noise and light braking power. Dealership is aware of problem. Consumer stated that heat vent cap keeps popping off and replaced. Tail gate bed liner not flat, panel rippled and rescuer rear panel, install additional fastener. Horn pad failed, brakes are squeaky,, abs system checked could not duplicate any problem, brake pedal goes to floor at times and vehicle does not stop, master cylinder leaking internally.
I have experienced excessive wearing of the front brakes, which has resulted in the rotors being replaced first, then the pads replaced 2 weeks later, and upon replacing the pads the new rotors required resurfacing. Since then after driving approx 5k miles, I was told that the new pads are appox 40% worn. I required the right front balljoint to be replaced when the rotors were done. When applying the brakes & hitting a bump in the road, the brake pedal goes down to the floor and has a complete lose of braking. It failed the annual inspection, due to a leaking donnut gasket. The tailgate squeaks & rattles, and appears out of alignment. The front driver's door creaks requiring repeated greasing. There appears to be excessive wearing in the front end and braking system, as well as excessive creaking & noise from the rear area of the truck, tailgate, and driver's door. I have been met with continued resistance and lack of answers from both the mfg and dealer. Any help or information would be appreciated.
Steel cable on tailate broke from both sides at the same time, causing it to fall on top of consumer.
