2 Car Stall problem of the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 08/11/2020

The vehicle is stalling when braking and getting ready to turn. My truck is showing stabilitrak service intermittently and I've almost been in a crash 3 times because of this. The vehicle only restarts after placing in park. This is not safe when in traffic. There seems to be no recalls and no known cause. Someone is going to die if gm doesn't fix this. I've been on forums and it's a common problem. It should be fixed by gm if it is so common. This happens when approaching cross traffic at an intersection and I lose all control of steering braking and power to the truck.

Out of nowhere engine began to idle erratically almost causing an accident at an intersection, if I hadn't caught it and slammed on the brakes the truck would have rear ended another vehicle. After that the idle began to drop as if the vehicle was going to stall, then would kick back up to about 900-1000 rpm. Was intermittent at first, now vehicle is not driveable. It is worse with a/c on and it effects engine temp gauge as well.

13 Car Stall problem of the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 06/11/2014

Initial vehicle start was fine. After dropping my son at his summer program, I returned to the vehicle and the engine would not start. All of the instruments and gauges powered on, but when I turned the key, nothing happened. I turned the power back to the off position and attempted to start again. I repeated this procedure eight separate times before the truck finally started. I am foreseeing a 2nd trip to the dealer's service department soon, but 1st for this issue. My 1st trip was due to the intellilink infotainment system going black. I took the truck to the dealer and was told there was a recall for the radio module to be reprogrammed. The reprogramming did not work and I had to wait another business day for a new radio module to be ordered and installed. I am beginning to doubt my purchase of this vehicle. I have owned it less than 1 month and I am anticipating another service department visit soon.

16 Car Stall problem of the 2001 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 10/01/2008

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 that stalls on a constant basis while going a low speeds. This problem has been happening since I purchased the truck a few years ago but has gotten a lot worse recently. The truck stalls several times every day now while coming to a stop. I have to pull over to the side of the road and the truck will restart instantly until it stalls again at the next stop. I checked your web site and there are some recalls for crank sensors for GMC sierras, but not the 1500 model, which is what I have. My truck has the exact same problems described in the crank sensor case. Several times cars have been behind me while my truck stalled and this could have caused an accident.
