Radiator is leaking where plastic meets metal. Leaking coolant at upper corner driver side. This is crazy for a 70k truck. It is a known problem. Dealer refused to submit a claim to gm. I am seeing people get theses replaced. It has been an issue since coolant control valve was replaced.

I was driving up the road truck cranked up fine started a morning commute, on cruise control the truck instantly out of nowhere lost power completely with no signs of anything and engine won’t attempt to turn over now. I fear the worst has happened which would be catastrophic internal failure for to a faulty engine & its internals.

I started to notice changes in performance around 75k miles. Seemed like performance was subpar compared to what was the norm. Seemed to lose some power. Minimal at first, more so just recently around 90k. Oil consumption was starting to accelerate at each oil change at 75k, 80k, 85k, 90k. To the point around 85k and 90k that I would not go over even 1 mile from the 5k threshold without changing the oil. Around 90k I could tell it was not getting any better, deficiencies were accelerating it seemed. At 91k miles I started to hear clicking noises and loss of power, starts were getting rough, bouncing at idle. I stopped driving it, only driving it to the dealership where I brought for a look at it. Will be driving it again for them to do a deeper diagnostic. Many misfires at cylinder 5. Po305 the issue. Showed up around 91k miles on 12/17/25 now investigation into my model. I see online.

We were driving down a farm to market road at about 50 mph pulling an empty cattle trailer when we had a severe power loss, lots of dash lights and warnings. I noticed white smoke coming from the tail pipe. We limped it back to the house and unhooked the trailer and idled it into the Chevrolet dealership in portland TX. The dealership just called and they said the #5 cylinder failed, there is metal in the oil and it will need an engine replacement at a cost of over $11,000. 00. The truck is a 2019 and has just over 54,000 miles on it. No engine should fail at 54,000 miles and no company should sell one that does. Pulling a loaded trailer at highway speeds with a total engine failure could easily cause death to passengers and livestock. 12122025.
I have 125,000 miles on my truck. I was traveling with my grandkids in the back seat. We were going through a four way stop. My truck started tapping like a lifter issue. The next thing I know is the truck engine light started flashing and car started to shake. Then, my truck lost all power and a big cloud of blue smoke came out of the tail pipe. The truck could not be driven any further. The symptoms: engine tapping, low oil, engine light flashing, shaking, lost all movement, and a cloud of smoke we had to tow my truck to the dealer and they are still accessing the issue. All symptoms are identical to the current recall of the GMC engines.

12/7/2025 8:48 am engine lost propulsion while driving 35mph enroute to residence. The engine cut off and at the same time we saw a cloud of blue smoke trailing the vehicle. The engine refired and propulsion resumed. I immediately looked at the dash display for an indicator light resulting from the lack of propulsion. There were no unusual indicator lights or messages but the tachometer needle dropped about an inch and went back up again rapidly. The engine had resumed running. This loss of propulsion and resumption occurred two more times while my foot was off the accelerator. After the third incident the vehicle seemed to be running normally. I stated we had only about two miles to get home and I hope we make it. The next day I called deluz service department to notify them of the incident. I left a message but my call was not returned. I updated service staff of the new incident when I dropped the vehicle off for a previously scheduled appointment on 12/11/25.

Just had my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 denali engine fail. My truck has 75k miles oil changed regularly no codes, issues or dash lights. Recently had it at GMC I folsom California for a rear window replacement. Full inspection with no issues and nothing found wrong. Sunday 12/7 with my girlfriend and son in the truck about to get on the freeway felt a weird shift as I got on the freeway on-ramp. As I went to accelerate I had my traction control lights come on, lost power, and flashing check engine lights limped the truck off the side of the freeway and exited to a gas station. My truck wasn’t leaking anything and oil pressure was good but it sounds like popcorn was being made in my engine when it was on. Had my truck towed to folsom GMC and yesterday 12/8 got a call I need a new engine. Called gm corporate to talk to them and opened a claim. GMC dealership got an initial help with 15% of the bill telling me I would need to pay $13,315. Talked to the service advisor and they put in a request for help from gm. Today at 9:00 a. M. They offered 50% coverage and I was able to get a little more but it still has me paying $7,500 and it will be 2-3 weeks to get the repair done. The dealership also will be getting me a loaner vehicle. This dealership has not been great but with this they are trying and doing a lot. However 75k on a truck that does not haul or have heavy use and is 7 years old with no prior issues is crazy. I was told cylinder 8 showed a misfire. Once they opened it up there was damage to the pushrods, valves and lifters with significant metal throughout the motor. I’m still waiting for corporate GMC to get back to me and hoping they will help or offer more money off as this is still a very large bill for a single father of 2 around the holidays. I bought the truck used with about 32k on it in 2022 and have had no mechanical issues or codes related to the motor or transmission.
On Dec 4, 2025, my wife was driving at night on a texas road going 75mph. Her truck died while driving and the truck shifted into neutral and computer said to restart. When she did, all electrical power was lost including headlights while traveling at 75mph at night. Vehicle eventually was started after she got to the side of the road. A check engine light was present. She made it to her destination with no further problems. Vehicle was taken to the dealership the next day. They said that she may have catastrophic engine failure that is common on the 6. 2 liter gm motors.
Https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/rcl/2025/rcrit-25v274-6343. Pdf safety recall n252494001 l87 engine loss of propulsion I am currently writing due to my vehicle falling under the guidelines of this recall but it is not listed in the recalls. I have been in contacts with gm directly as they say because it is not listed on NHTSA as a saftey recall they will not cover the cost. I am writing to try to get this listed as I currently can not get an oil change at any location but a gm dealer because it is listed in the systems.

Engine malfunction, had dealer look at truck and they said I needed a new engine, check engine light came on and a knocking noise appeared suddenly. Reading about 2021+ sierra with 6. 2 engine that has a recall with the same problem as mine. Wondering why that recall wasn’t extended to my truck as well.
Engine oil cooler lines leaking from crimp joints. "oil pressure low turn vehicle off" display showed on dashboard. Oil is present all over the bottom of my truck as well as a trail along the road and the parking lot where I parked it. I have not brought it to the dealership yet. There has been a customer service program notice about this issue, I got my truck after the issue was sent out so I did not get the letter or supposedly this truck is not part of it even thought it is the exact issue. Customer service program number n212326940.
On 29 November 2025 at approximately 1700hrs, I was driving my blue 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 at4x outside of pampa, TX. As I was driving to my hunting location, my truck turned itself off and placed itself in neutral. I was driving about 30 mph down a single farm road with another vehicle approaching me from the front. I was unable to pull to the side due to farmland. I was able to flash my lights to get the other vehicle to slow down before having an incident. During this time, I had to let the truck slow down to a stop. My vehicle was already inspected for the engine recall and I was informed I had nothing to worry about. That everything was good. The truck is at greg lair in canyon, TX. It did put me and my passenger as risk. I did not receive any warning before my truck turned off. The dealer confirmed today that the engine had seized. The engine was inspected during the summer before this issue. I had not warning when this happened. Was just driving and lost power. Looked down at the display and it stated to restart engine. I noticed my truck was in neutral when it came to a stop.
Had a "trans hot warning" light. Dealership said it was internal valve body failure. They said there is recall on this for other engine types even though this is same issue. I think GMC needs to expand their recall.
While traveling on highway, engine suddenly just stopped. Unable to restart engine and had to coast to side of road with high speed vehicles almost hitting us several times. Towed to dealership and told metal found in oil filter. Told engine had to be replaced. Vehicle was inspected 3 weeks before by dealership and told everything was fine.
The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle started shuddering. The check engine and stabilizer warning lights were occasionally illuminated. The contact pulled over into a nearby gas station, and the vehicle was later towed to a local dealer. The vehicle remained at the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The local dealer informed the contact that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign: 25v274000 (engine and engine cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.
The engine is knocking and running rough. I took it to christian brothers automotive in newnan GA and the advised engine replacement.
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to coast to the highway divider and stop the vehicle. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine had suffered a catastrophic failure and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 25v274000 (engine and engine cooling). The contact informed the dealer of the issue and was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,504.
On November 25th, 2025 I had my wife, kids and baby grandson in my truck driving approx 50 mph when the trailer brake light appeared on my dash. I thought that was strange since I was not pulling a trailer. Shortly after my truck felt like it was going to stall and complete loss of power. I pulled into a turn lane and coasted into a gas station parking lot. I put the truck into park and turned the motor off and then restarted it. The truck was running extremely poor and sounded like it had rocks loose in the motor. I had it towed into an automotive repair facility I have always used and they told me my engine was gone and had to be replaced. I had been told by an oil change company a few weeks before that this engine was under a recall. I checked into it but this model year was not included. I did further research and founded out that this model year was under review. Something needs to be done as I was lucky this was not a busy highway or this could have ended worse.
Engine fan has been constantly running, with engine temp reading around 230 consistently. After driving 5 miles on the interstate it shot up to 260 and said “engine temp overheating, idle engine”.
The recall you are showing was completed 300 miles ago. There were no outstanding recalls on my vehicle on November 23, 2025. On this day I was driving home, at night and I heard a loud flapping sound coming from the front of my vehicle. I pulled over and checked the front and wheel wells, nothing was stuck. I got back in and started driving the flapping sound was coming as I pressed the gas, when coasting with no gas, there was no flapping sound. I managed to make it home and gm towed my truck the next day. The shop has informed me that the engine is gone. Even though I did the recall 300 miles ago, it was directly what they were looking for in the recall and did not find it. This clearly put me in danger.
Less then 47 000 miles on truck, used for only city driving, no off road driving or rigorous travel. - engine malfunction and could have had catastrophic failure while traveling causing injury to myself or others. -car is inoperable, dealer recommend not to drive it due to safety concerns. -I have metal shavings in the oil, misfires, and a p0011 code. These match the known gm lifter/camshaft failure pattern. Vehicle started skipping check engine light turned on for cam shaft interrupter magnet. Gm has open recall for 2021-2025 engine however 2019 vehicle is still under investigation.
The injector failure in my 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 resulted in repeated misfire conditions (p0300 and p0307), causing the vehicle to lose power unexpectedly while driving. The engine would hesitate, shake, and struggle to accelerate, especially during merging or highway speeds. These symptoms created a significant safety hazard because the vehicle could not reliably maintain speed or respond to throttle input. Sudden power loss in traffic exposes the driver and surrounding motorists to an increased risk of collision, particularly during lane changes, freeway merging, intersection crossings, and passing maneuvers. The dealership confirmed internal injector failure, and the vehicle has been out of service for three months without resolution. This is a safety-critical defect that compromises vehicle controllability, stability, and safe operation on public roads. ”.
2018 GMC sierra started having shuddering/jerking/jumping problems at around 60k miles. This problem occurs while driving on straight aways, going uphill and while in drive at a stop sign/light. When the gas is accelerated the truck then hesitates and jerks/jumps. We have taken it to the GMC dealership and paid for the diagnostics and were informed “the problem wasn’t severe enough”. The truck has only been serviced by GMC dealership. So after failed attempts with GMC service department we have taken it to a local small auto shop and they automatically said it was the drive train and needed to be taken to a transmission shop. We have been gm owners for decades and are so disappointed in the service received from them.
Informant system tells me that the engine oil is low every time right at about 1,000 miles after I change the oil. There have been times where the engine has hesitated to accelerate shortly after receiving the message. I've taken truck to be serviced with no oil leaks found. I purchased this truck with 21,000 miles on it, and it's been doing this ever since I've had it.
The contact owns a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact received the recall letter for NHTSA campaign number: 25v274000 (engine and engine cooling). The contact called the local dealer, who confirmed there was no information from the manufacturer to move forward. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure.
There was engine failure whereby the pushrods were ticking extremely hard. After towing the vehicle to the repair shop, it was determined that a new engine would be needed. The cost for repair was $11,500. 00 dollars. The original engine has approximately 75,000 miles.
My 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 denali with the 6. 2l l87 v8 just began experiencing a new rough idle with intermittent rpm dips. There are no engine codes or warning lights. Idle drops are noticeable, suddenly began this week. I am concerned due to ongoing NHTSA engineering analysis ea25-007 involving this engine. Some owners reported engine failure with little warning. The truck has right over 68,000 miles on it and has had every oil changed performed at a gm dealer. I have had to top off the oil between cycles and always used the recommended oil, being the dexos gen 3 due to the truck burning a small amount of oil. More detail on a possible cause. I believe it would be worth investigating the dfm technology. I will be performing a fuel cleaner and possibly a lifter cleaner and/or additive. I would like to tune the truck and turn off the dfm since this is what I have read causes the truck to burn oil and damage the lifters. However, I will wait until this analysis is completed before deciding to change the truck's stock tunes.
The engine in my vehicle has failed twice while driving at highway speed. Both times, the engine suddenly stalled without warning, causing an immediate loss of propulsion, lighting, and steering assist. Each failure occurred at night, and I had to coast to the shoulder in the dark with limited control while other vehicles traveled at high speed. During the second incident, two children were in the vehicle. Both events created a serious risk of a collision or injury. The failure involves the primary propulsion system. After the first incident, the dealer replaced the engine and performed recall-related updates. Months later, the replacement engine failed in the same way. The dealer inspected the vehicle after each incident, confirmed the failures, and is replacing the engine again. The issue has therefore been reproduced and verified by the service center. There were no warning lights, messages, noises, or drivability symptoms before either failure. The engine stalled suddenly both times. A separate exterior trim piece, previously repaired under a recall, also detached while driving, adding an additional hazard. Both engine failures and the sudden loss of lighting and power created a clear and immediate safety risk to occupants and surrounding traffic. The repeated nature of the defect after a full engine replacement raises concern that the underlying issue has not been resolved.
My truck went into "limp" mode and had very little power. It was towed to the dealership where they diagnosed the issue as a bad solenoid causing the engine misfires. The solenoid was replaced, but the issue was not fixed. Now the dealership is stating the engine has bent lifters and the repairs will not be covered under the ongoing massive engine recall. The vehicle had the pico test on 9/17 and it "passed", but less than 3k miles later and the engine failed. This is a clear safety issue and well known by NHTSA and gm. Now I'm negotiating with the dealership to cover repairs and my truck has been gone nearly a month.
