Vehicle had a fire starting in the dashboard area behind instrument cluster I think. It took less than 15 minutes from the smell of and issue to flames visible. I noticed the gauges becoming erratic than the check engine light came on with what felt like the 4 wheel drive kicking in and out followed by the motor running poorly. I pulled over, turned the vehicle off as the smoke started. Than dialed 911. . Trooper was there in 6 minutes with fire department shortly after. I was on a highway traveling about 70 mph. There were quite a few potholes as this was winter time. Lights were on, cruise was on, heated seats and steering wheel were on, radio was on, phone and laptop were charging ( laptop utilizing 110 outlet in truck).

The dash has cracked over the gauges and at the corner of the air bag on passenger side. I just bought the truck so not sure how long the cracks have been there!.

After I got a recall letter in regard to the air bags, I decided to look at my dash just as a visual inspection. I have a dash cover to protect it from the heat. As I took it off the first thing I noticed was the cracked dash above my gauge cluster, right on the "hump". Very disappointed since I take care of this vehicle and I don't apply any solvents on the dash. Mostly soap and water then if any a water based cleaner/ protector.

Dash all of a sudden developed crack above the left corner of passenger side airbag and above the driver gauge panel. This is identical to the stories I am reading about other vehicles in this make and model.

Near 69,150 miles the oil pressure gauge for my GMC Sierra 1500 2011, all at once, went to zero giving me a warning message to immediately stop the engine. It turned out to be a faulty oil pressure sensor. In addition oil was leaking badly out around the sensor and completely coated everything in the engine compartment and underneath. A year later the sensor went bad again. GMC says its not covered under the power train warranty and its costing me $400 each time it goes bad.
Gas gauge acted erratically. Warming up vehicle while sitting in idling position for about 10 minutes and all of sudden heard a loud noise. Vehicle stopped running, smoke was coming out from around the fuel tank. Contacted dealer. Still under warranty, was told that the wiring harness that is attached to the fuel tank had a short, it was melted.
