I’ve owner the vehicle since new. My a/c condenser has failed 3 times, meaning I’m now about to be on my 4th. The welds are weak and it cracks in the same spot 95% of the time. It should last more than a 2 year average.

The rear window on my 2017 GMC sierra shattered unexpectedly without any impact. The vehicle had been remote started in very cold weather and the rear window glass suddenly shattered while the truck was parked. There was no rock strike or external damage that would explain the failure. I later learned about gm customer satisfaction program n192265660 regarding rear window defroster thermal events affecting certain 2014–2019 GMC sierra and Chevrolet silverado trucks. Based on the sudden failure and the conditions at the time, this appears consistent with that issue. The auto rear defog feature in the vehicle settings was turned off, however the truck had been started using the remote start feature when the glass shattered. Photos of the shattered window are available. I am submitting this report because the rear window defroster system may cause the glass to overheat and shatter unexpectedly.

When my android auto does not connect, it essentially disables the whole infotainment system which is incredibly distracting and dangerous while driving. I am requesting that this be fixed so that I can still use some of the infotainment system but they are redusing to to do anything to fix the issue. The dealer has advised that they are unable to fix the issue because it is software related but yet the software team is saying it is a dealer issue. Please help me get a resolution to this issue!.
While driving 65mph in my 2024 GMC sierra denali ultimate on interstate 270 in hilliard, ohio my chrome grill deflector just flew off and hit my windshield. It then went over my truck and almost caused a major accident with the cars and semi-trucks behind me. I was lucky to maintain control of my own vehicle! it appears to me that the mounting fractured and it looks like manufacturing defect. Looks like the same issues recalled in 2022 year models. How many have to die before gm fixes this issue? they now want $1,500 for a new grill on my 2024 truck.

Premature frame rot.
Was driving down interstate and the top of my grill came off and smacked my windshield. Also, my tailgate opens on its own but the grill is the main safety issue. I have seen where they already have recalls on 2022s and earlier due to chrome grill coming off but mine is a 2023 and gm is refusing to honor it when it is obviously the same issue. Was very scary and could have caused a wreck as grill ended up on interstate being thrown around by vehicles. Gm stated I would need recall added to my VIN in order for them to pay for it. Thank you!.

I had this truck as brand new for approximately 24 hours when it had a major failure. It had 450 miles on it at time of purchase, but was sold as new. While driving at 45mph it had a check engine light, service power steering message, lost power steering, lane departure system failure, and reduced power amongst several other lights on the dash. I limped the truck into a gas station parking lot. After turning the truck off, it would not restart. I unhooked the battery for a minute and hooked it back up. The truck did restart with no messages or check engine light. I was able to safely get it to the dealership. As a result of this issue, I forced the dealership to cancel the trade.
Rear glass window shattered due to the defroster getting too hot. Some smoke was noticed.
Rear tailgate on my 2021 sierra opens or drops when wet. This seems to only happen in a heavy rain or after a truck wash. This problem has been recognized by the manufacturer and the dealer. There is no warning other than the constant clicking of the electric switch allowing the tailgate to drop. This problem has been recalled on the 3/4 & 1 ton trucks but not the 1/2 ton. The tailgate and switches are the same on all 3. Because my VIN# does not show for this recall I had to pay for the replacement.
Engine lost all power while I was attempting to make a left turn at a very busy intersection. Dash kept saying “check battery”, jump pack did nothing. Engine wouldn’t start.
Coolant control valve failed, truck cannot be driven due to overheating, dealer has said due the national backorder, it could be 2 months before they receive the replacement part. There is a significant national backorder on the engine coolant flow control valve for 2020–2025 GMC sierra and Chevrolet silverado trucks equipped with the 3. 0l duramax (lm2/lz0) diesel engine. Many owners are reporting wait times of several weeks to months, with some vehicles sitting in repair shops for over 70 days.

The vehicle camera camera system is sometimes not available at startup and will not reset until the vehicle is allowed to sit for several hours. This prevents the backup camera, forward camera and side mirror cameras from providing an in-dash video of vehicle surroundings, which is especially critical for reversing direction or backing-up. Typically the camera will reset after sitting from a period of time. I have reported it to the dealer, but their position has been that since camera has always been working when I bring the truck in for service, is that there is really nothing they can do to correct the intermittent issue.
I remote started my truck. I got in about 5 minutes later. When I shut the door the rear window, passenger side of the power sliding window blew out. Gm says my VIN is not affected by the recall but my truck shows that it should have been part of the recall or customer satisfaction program. N192265660 rear window defroster thermal events.

The contact owns a 2026 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle, there was no owner’s manual in the vehicle. The contact inquired about the owner’s manual and was informed by the dealer that an owner’s manual was no longer printed. The contact checked online and became aware of fmvss 225, which was related to the owner’s manuals for similar vehicles. The contact researched NHTSA campaign number: 25v815000 (equipment), addressing the lack of an owner’s manual for 2026 Chevrolet silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500 vehicles. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue.
I was driving on the highway at about 80 miles per hour and all of the sudden, a piece of the front grill detached and flew off, hitting the top of the of the roof.
Onstar module is not working.
I was driving down the road the front piece of the grill flew off the truck and hit my windshield, then flew into oncoming traffic.
For the past month I have noticed my truck has been dripping oil, I pulled the shield off and saw my engine oil cooler lines leaking at the crimp points. I’ve seen gm put out customer satisfaction notice but when I tried to have the dealership fix mine they said mine is covered under any recall or warranty. If the line comes uncrimped at highway speeds I’ll lose all my oil where the trucks engine could lock up and lose all forward motion and in my eyes could cause a crash.

Driving down the road, the radio volume will randomly rapidly increase to full volume. There is no way to turn the volume down. This is very startlingly and can lead to an accident due to the driver panicking and trying to turn off the radio or turn the volume down. It has happened approximately 5 times since I have owned the vehicle. Thie first time was when the vehicle was only a few months old. It happens so infrequently that it cannot be reproduced. It has not been confirmed nor inspected by a dealer. There is no warning as to when it might happen, nor any similar circumstances when it happens. The only solution I have found is to stop, turn off the vehicle and open the door for a minute or two, which is difficult to do in traffic.
The front chrome grille deflector came off 9-10 months after the dealership inspected it.
My 2020 GMC sierra has had poor gas mileage problems I have taken it to gm a few times with them not able to dind anything wrong through diagnostic. A couple years later my horrible gas mileage came back and service ecs and stabilitrack message came back on and disappeared. I spoke to another shop and they advised me its the dfm lifter issues that everyone has been talking about. So the shop performed the well know fix and has fix the issue. A month after now the valve body gave me a p2817 code showing that the solenoid is stuck in the off and was also advised that this is a know issue being addressed. Currently the truck is in the shop. When is enough enough with all the issues across the nation whwn is gm going to make it right.

Transmission 10l80 stuck solenoid truck has hesitation delayed shifting. And will not shift after certain gears.
Tailgate is randomly dropping while driving without any tailgate drop buttons being pushed. It’s is starting to occur more frequently.
Onstar quite working, light nothing. Called onstar, told me I need to take to the dealer.
Tailgate opened on its own while driving, creating a safety hazard where items inside could have fallen out. The tailgate was secured prior to driving.
The grille deflector suddenly detached from the truck and flew off into traffic. It narrowly missed the vehicle behind me and could have caused a serious accident or injury. There was no prior warning or impact that would explain the failure.
I was driving in a city at 30 miles per hour no acceleration and no load. I lost oil pressure, dumped all the oil out of the crankcase and then the engine locked up. I had it towed to my mechanic shop that I have work done. The technician diagnosed it as a failed oil cooler pressure supply line. Where the solid steel line crimps to a rubber oil hose, that connection had not been applied enough pressure and the rubber line became separated from the steel line.
At approximately 29,000 miles, my 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 experienced a transmission failure. The transmission began slipping, shifting improperly, and operating unpredictably during normal driving conditions. This occurred without warning and well below the expected lifespan of a transmission, indicating a serious defect rather than normal wear or maintenance-related issues. The vehicle became unreliable and unsafe to operate, particularly during acceleration and highway driving, where delayed or improper shifting created a potential safety hazard. I relied on this vehicle for daily transportation and work, and the worsening transmission condition made continued operation unsafe and impractical. I later became aware that transmission failures are a widespread and documented issue affecting this model year GMC Sierra 1500, suggesting a possible manufacturing or design defect. Due to the severity and premature nature of this transmission failure, I was forced to return the vehicle early. General motors is now charging me a balance of over $10,000 related to the early lease termination, which was directly caused by this defective transmission and not by customer misuse or negligence. My requested resolution is for general motors to waive the full balance of over $10,000, as this financial obligation resulted solely from a premature transmission failure caused by a defect outside of my control.
Experience water leaking 3rd brake light and rear window. Leaking in both areas. Also concerned about mold that could be caused by this.
The frame of the back window is cracking allowing water to come in through the back glass. This is causing the headliner and other components such as air bags and other electrical components to get wet and damaged. This could cause risk of fire or failure of safety components within the vehicle such as air bags, cameras and other sensors. With water intrusion comes the high risk for mold to develop and cause serious health risks. GMC is aware of this issue and will not agree to repair it. A GMC dealer has inspected the glass and said it was a faulty seal but since it's not in the 3 year warranty window, it's not covered. Independent auto glass companies state they have seen this issue many times and the glass seal is faulty. GMC should do the right thing and fix this issue. This devalues the vehicle and the GMC brand and poses serious risks to driver. I have created a case with GMC and submitted photos, videos and dealership estimates for proof.
The onstar system completely shut down. The module stopped working while driving and now there is no communication to the vehicle.
Safety recall n242454440 momentary rear wheel lock-up was issued for 2020 to 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 but mine is not included. I drive a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500. It is experiencing harsh shifting and now there is a feeling in the rear wheels like they are trying to get stuck or hang up. Why is my truck not included?.
While driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic, my vehicle suddenly lost all engine power, the accelerator became unresponsive and the dash indicated "press start". There were no warning lights, no messages, and no prior symptoms before the failure occurred. I was in an active traffic lane when this happened, which immediately placed me and others at risk of being rear-ended. After several seconds, and pressing the start button, the vehicle regained power. But the odometer was indicating I was going 30+ mph when I was going less than 10 mph, so I pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle is also was having issues with the lane keeping assistance was unavailable. This is is a new vehicle purchase directly from the dealer in August 2025, with approximately 4,500 miles at the time of the incident that occurred on, 11/18. The problem has not been reproduced by the dealership, and no diagnostic trouble codes were found. The vehicle has been at the dealer for inspection since 11/20, but I was informed that the issue would need to happen again before they could diagnose it. This type of sudden power loss while driving is a serious safety concern, especially because it occurred without warning and could happen again unpredictably. At this time, the cause it unknown, but the component or system responsible for the power loss should be inspected. The failure appears to be intermittent and without warning.
