Transmission Failure Problems of GMC Sierra 1500

I own a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 at4 with the 3. 0l duramax diesel. The vehicle developed severe transmission problems, including harsh/jerky shifting and a hard clunk when shifting into reverse. The vehicle was subsequently diagnosed with an internal transmission failure. The repair facility informed me that the transmission gears had failed and caused damage to the transmission and stated that the failure appeared to be related to a manufacturing issue. The repair facility also advised me to watch for a future recall because they believed this could be a widespread issue occurring in other vehicles. I am submitting this complaint so the failure can be documented and considered along with other reports of transmission failures involving this vehicle. Note from autoshop:transmission failure was due to a manufacture design flaw, not due to the customer's driving habits. The pump original design is with slanted gears and the gears are forced away from each other and placing too much strain the bearings ani the bearing fail. An update performed to have straight cut pump gears to avoid bearing damage. Cdf drum and center support changed to updated parts that are heated treated to avoid damage.

Hard shifting that started around 40000 miles and has progressively gotten worse. The same thing happened to my 2017 Chevrolet silverado 1500 and at 90000 miles that vehicle's #3 sensor in the transmission failed. It appears this vehicle is on the same path. The transmissions in these vehicles are trash. It happens in lower gears.

The transmission failed at 32,000 miles slipped so bad could hardly drive it home on highway i95 jacksonville florida. Finally got a dealer appointment after over 2 weeks of waiting without the use the vehicle. They replaced the fluid and said it was now good. Still tends to slip I asked why they were not replacing the whole unit said no need as my warranty is almost up?.

Automatic transmission totally failed while entering unto interstate highway. Was able to pull off highway onto exit ramp partially blocking ramp until wrecker arrived. Required complete rebuild.

When shifting from second to first gear, the transmission shifted into first gear with extreme force and caused the vehicle to abruptly accelerate. The vehicle was taken to walsh chevy Buick GMC (2330 north bloomington street, streator, IL, 61364 815-673-4333) where the transmission system was reprogrammed twice and the electronic control module was replaced. However, the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 112.

The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was found that a component in the transmission had failed. The contact was unsure of the exact component. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 47,000.

2003 GMC sierra with several problems. Consumer states that the transmission failed. Passenger side window motor broke, speedometer failed due to stepper motor failure, truck is on the third set of front brake rotors, and upper support column bearings, and more problems. The consumer stated the dealer refused to replace the upper support bearing, but replaced the intermediate shaft instead. The rear planatery forward clutch was burnt, which caused the transmission to fail.
