Hard shifting that started around 40000 miles and has progressively gotten worse. The same thing happened to my 2017 Chevrolet silverado 1500 and at 90000 miles that vehicle's #3 sensor in the transmission failed. It appears this vehicle is on the same path. The transmissions in these vehicles are trash. It happens in lower gears.

The transmission failed at 32,000 miles slipped so bad could hardly drive it home on highway i95 jacksonville florida. Finally got a dealer appointment after over 2 weeks of waiting without the use the vehicle. They replaced the fluid and said it was now good. Still tends to slip I asked why they were not replacing the whole unit said no need as my warranty is almost up?.

Automatic transmission totally failed while entering unto interstate highway. Was able to pull off highway onto exit ramp partially blocking ramp until wrecker arrived. Required complete rebuild.

4 Transmission Failure problem of the 2017 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 05/27/2017

The contact owns a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500. While driving 30 mph, the transmission failed after a complete stop. When the accelerator pedal was depressed, the rpms increased. When shifting from second to first gear, the transmission shifted into first gear with extreme force and caused the vehicle to abruptly accelerate. The contact had to engage the brake pedal with force to avoid a crash. The failure was experienced numerous times. The vehicle was taken to walsh chevy Buick GMC (2330 north bloomington street, streator, IL, 61364 815-673-4333) where the transmission system was reprogrammed twice and the electronic control module was replaced. However, the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 112.

Failure Date: 10/25/2013

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while traveling approximately 10 mph, he heard a loud pop and the vehicle then failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was found that a component in the transmission had failed. The contact was unsure of the exact component. The vehicle was being repaired. 6 Transmission Failure problem of the 2003 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 03/03/2008

2003 GMC sierra with several problems. Consumer states that the transmission failed. Passenger side window motor broke, speedometer failed due to stepper motor failure, truck is on the third set of front brake rotors, and upper support column bearings, and more problems. The consumer stated the dealer refused to replace the upper support bearing, but replaced the intermediate shaft instead. The rear planatery forward clutch was burnt, which caused the transmission to fail.
