1 Transmission Noise problem of the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 10/28/2020

While driving the vehicle 21oct2020 it started whining and jerking. I called the dealership to have it checked they couldn't see us, so we took it to a different GMC dealership that said the codes had not been updated, they preformed the recall and said it should be fine. Two days later it started jerking again and shut off when stopped at a light. I took it to the GMC dealership we bought it from on the 28oct2020 and I was told that the truck was fine, and that the diagnostics showed no problems whatsoever. The tech said he would drive it out of the bay, if brittany would open the door and before he could drive it through the garage bay area and out the garage bay door the truck made a crazy loud noise, jerk to a sudden stop and the transmission went out, and the truck would not restart at all and had to be towed out of the bay door. The 2019 truck has had 5 recalls for safety issues and with 40,000 miles the transmission went all the way out and the truck has been sitting there at the dealership for over a month waiting on the new transmission to come from GMC. I go in and see the transmission recall on so many 8 speed transmission which this truck has, and now I feel like I was sold a lemon and no one seems to care. % recalls and the transmission goes out completely at 40,000 miles. I am so upset about it that I do not even want the truck anymore. It is going to ruin my resale value and the lemon law should apply on a truck one year old. I have filed complaints with the dealership, and now on their front door is a sign that says they will not honor the warranty policies on any vehicle they sold after November 15, 2020. Of course they sold me zurich extended warranty too, and I can promise I will never buy GMC again. I also have a 2017 pathfinder almost paid off, that I am giving to my daughter, and I was going to get an GMC arcadia but not a chance now.

2 Transmission Noise problem of the 2017 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

I bought this truck used with 12,918 miles on it, April 2018. When driving(especially on highway), and changing speeds, transmission clunks and lurches-automatic transmission. It sounds and feels as if drive train will fall out. I have taken it to dealer twice. The first time, they kept it for 3 days, the second time, for one. The mechanic is able to replicate the noise/lurching, but they are unable to find a cause or correction. They tell me it is not dangerous, but I am concerned that the noise/movement, could cause myself or another family member to swerve or brake hard and cause an accident. The mechanic has tried "updating the software" but that did not fix it. Several other GMC sierra owners tell me they have had same problem.
