Brake Loud Noise problems of the 1999 GMC Yukon

One problem related to brake loud noise has been reported for the 1999 GMC Yukon. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Loud Noise problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2008

The contact owns a 1999 GMC Yukon. While driving approximately 50 mph on normal road conditions, the contact heard a loud noise when the brake pedal was depressed. The abs engaged unintentionally before the vehicle stopped 5-10 feet later. There were no warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing and they stated that the failure was related to the abs sensor. The VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign id number 05v379000 (service brakes, hydraulic:antilock;control unit/module), although the failures were identical. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and the vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 95,000. Updated 03/17/09.
