Key gets stuck in the ignition all the time. The truck goes into complete shut down of all electrical components, I mean absolutely no power. I can't even call on the blue on star button. I took it to walker GMC in alexandria, la on January 15, 2018 because the engine light was on. They said they fixed it and although the engine light is no longer coming on, the truck continues to go into complete electrical shut down every few days. I took it to another dealership to test the battery and the alternator but they reported the battery was at 100 percent and the alternator passed all the checks. I'm at a lost but I do not want to risk traveling with my daughters and the truck just completely stopping on us on the highway. What do you suggest I do next?.

My 2008 Yukon has had an electrical mystery for awhile now. When you open the doors the "chime" will be very faint and then the next time it's very loud. The clock resets like the battery has been disconnected after shutting the car off. The door locks will lock and unlock by themselves will I'm driving. I can turn the car off after driving it and it will be completely dead. It wont do anything. You can't lock the doors, turn on the radio, start the car or anything. Almost like it doesnt have a battery at all. Wait 10 minutes or so and slam a few doors and it starts right up. We've replaced batteries, alternators, fuses and taken it to mechanics with no luck. After replacing the battery it will work for several months and then it will do it again. There has to be a short somewhere and after googling it there are 1000 of people having the same problems. We had problems since we purchased the car in 2017 and I'm positive the owner before me had the same issues.

The contact owns a 2003 GMC Yukon. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle experienced independent deceleration and the reduced engine power warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was previously taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump, spark plugs, transmission, and alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified and transferred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Vehicle stalls while in motion. Figured out it may be running out of gas due to the gauge not working. Now, it stalls when it only has a half a tank of gas, not completely empty. Put 16 gallons of gas in the 30 gallon tank, truck runs smooth. Replaced the fuel filter twice. Replaced the battery, tested the alternator, results no alt. Problem. Check engine light on, speedometer is off, gas gauge is off, and the rear view mirror display lights go on and off erratically. Biggest problem is when I break the truck will shut off. This has been going on since Nov. 2010, when we replaced the battery and quit using a certain type of gas it seemed to be fine. Now, it is acting up and today was the first incident since early December.
Vehicle lighting, especially at night, flickers constantly, has been to repair shop several times, alternator and battery check out fine. No one seems to know an answer.

Speedometer reading as much as 50mph over actual speed, causing safety issue. Other gauges occasionally showing incorrect values (fuel, alternator, etc).
The contact owns a 2003 GMC Yukon denali. The contact stated that everytime he activated his left turn signal, the hazard warning lights would illuminate. Secondly, the gauges on the instrument control panel were inoperative. Thirdly, the battery constantly failed without warning. Lastly, when switching gears on the vehicle, the contact heard a loud knocking noise. He took the vehicle to the dealer on numerous occasions and a technician replaced the battery and alternator twice, and the entire instrument control panel as well. Even after all of the repairs were made, the electrical failures still persist. The manufacturer did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was 33,000 and current mileage was 47,400.
The consumer believes that there are electrical problems with the GMC. The water pump was out, the radio has quit working 5 times, and has been replaced 4 times, the windows on the passenger quit, and the regulator was replaced 4 times. This has happened at 35,000 miles.
The serpentine belt has been replaced twice and then the alternator was replaced because when the truck is started it makes a squealing noise and after all that, it still makes the noise.

This vehicle has been a problem since we bought it. Right after we bought it we heard a roar in the rear end. The rear end was replace under the 3yr/36000mile warranty. Soon after that the alternator was replaced under warranty. Just recently we took a trip and towed our 18ft. Ski boat with us. When we returned my wife noticed a problem the next day. We had no reverse and that proved to be the transmission. We contaced the closest dealrer to mike morgan shreveport, la. They told us that they were so backed up with tranmission problems that it would be at least a week before they could pick up the truck to even look at it. Then they would tell me what they thought. Well, I paid $25,000 for a vehicle to sit with a bad transmission and they think I will let it sit while my wife and children walk!!! I don't think so! during the last of July, my brother and law and I replace the starter on this same truck to the tune of $250. 00 yesterday I found a water pump leak and was told that would cost me around $200. 00 to repair. Oh yes, the transmission cost me $1,400. 00 to repair. As you can see, I am having a ton of problems with this vehicle. Gm has thumbed their nose at me and more or less said "tough luck"! well, I don't think that is fair. The transmission is what really upset me. I paid extra to have towing package on this truck and we pulled a boat 1 time and this happens. I can't beleive that this truck can't get at least 100,000 miles on the original transmission. I also have a boss that owns a 1999 suburban that had the tranmission fail on him this last Friday. His truck has only 54,000 miles. Well, as you can see, I think gm has a problem!!! please let me know what I can do!.
