Since first purchase, the ever present concerns, inherent with our general motors GMC Yukon xl, have grown; to whereby, they are safety, security, and well-being concerns: a) the squeaking, clunking, locking steering, when turning: service bulletin number: 01863. The NHTSA item number: 10006616. B) the brake pedal, when fully stopped, at times, presses completely to the floor. C) the air conditioner that ever emits a moldy smell. D) the driver side air conditioner, at times, blows hot, when the passenger side blows cold. E) the ever present interior moldy smell. F) the driver side trim panel has dropped down; to whereby, any outside, rearview mirror adjustments are almost an impossibility, and the door locks are difficult to securely operate. G) the inoperative, keyless entry remote. G) the dash lights, at times, are inoperative. H) since first purchase, three (3) new batteries have been purchased, two (2), within the last few months. Since first purchase, we have been ignored, led on, and misled which created time expiration. Since the beginning, with the ever present concerns, we questioned the build quality of our general motors GMC Yukon xl, without any response, at all. Safety, security, and well-being concerns should neither have a time limit nor constraints.

Purchased this vehicle in March 09. It has been in the shop 4 different times for a/c. Started about 4 months after purchase. Driver side a/c blows hot air, but passenger side and rear work fine. Have also experienced the brakes slipping off and on. Push the brake pedal and the pedal will drop down a little lower while pressure being applied and vehicle will slide to a halt. Happened about 6 times since ownership. Chrome plating on interior door handles is peeling, causing cuts/lacerations to hands. Recent problem of engine running low of oil in between oil changes. Now low about 2 quarts. Running oil consumption tests now.

Rear heater not working. On July 25, 2006, the dealer replaced:" compressor assembly-replace sensor, inside air temperature-replace, case, auxiliary heater one piece-replace" at 38,371 miles. Today, I returned to the dealer. Rear a/c is working but no heat through the rear heater. They replaced the actuator, but that did not solve the problem. They put the original actuator back and stated a rear control module would need to be ordered. Now the console lights on the rear hvac dials do not illuminate. I am awaiting the part.

- the contact stated that while driving the 2004 at 45 mph condensation began to build up on the window, the contact turned the defroster on, but it did not operate. The contact drove the vehicle home, then drove the vehicle to the mechanic , who diagnosed the failure as the heater control not directing the heat up to the window.
Odometer reading and hour meter reading displaying alternately every 5 seconds while vehicle was garage parked and off, no key in the ignition, no other lights on. Dealer could not find problem, but re-secured ground connection. Also at various times hvac & radio face panel to hot to touch even with a/c on. Dealer re-programed something.
When the defroster was turned on, it caused the windshield to crack.

Horrible odor emitted thru ventilation system. Don't know if associated but my family has been ill with alot of respiratory problems, walking pneumonia (2out of 4) in same week , and my 5yr old has been plagued by violent vomiting. I took Yukon to martin GMC said odor was probably caused by either mold/fungus in the evaporator & coils. The smell is very strong and nauseating . There have been several technical service bulletins thru GMC on this problem. I am worried about my families health since I have chronic asthma and my children have allergies. The dealer is going to put a coating of chemicals on the evaporator coils that will (kill?) mold and funus, then they will install an electonic evaporator dryer. I hope this is going to rectify the situation and not be just a temporary fix because mold is very hard to erradicate if you do not get to the source of the problem. I am upset that a new car can have this problem and I've read on the internet that this is not an isolated case. Do you know of any health risks due to this? the smell is awful and strong even with the a/c off. Please let me know of any other possible remedies to this problem. Front heater only operates at full temperature setting 82 degrees. Otherwise, the heater is blowing cold air, about the outside air temperature. The only way to regulate inside temperature is to set at 82 degrees, then turn system off until the cabin is cold, then turn heater back on, etc. This needs to be done every few minutes, causing constant driver distraction. Dealer is advising gm tech center is stating the system is operating as designed. Dt.
Heater failed.
