Odometer fraud. The contact purchased a 2003 GMC Yukon xl. It was later discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale on January 26th, 2026. At the time of purchase and at the time of the vehicle registration, the vehicle mileage was 186,000. While applying for insurance on February 20, 2026, the contact was informed that the vehicle was due for a 300,000-mile maintenance plan. The contact confirmed through the carfax report that the actual mileage was 300,000. The dealer was contacted and informed of the odometer fraud discovery; however, the dealer refused further contact to resolve the issue. The odometer fraud was also reported to the state consumer protection division.

2 Instrument Panel Speedometer/odometer problem of the 2004 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 12/19/2025

Odometer fraud. The contact purchased a 2004 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while attempting to trade the vehicle in, the dealer discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy, per the carfax report. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 165,563. The actual mileage could not be determined because the carfax report displayed that the mileage had drastically fluctuated over the years. No other agency was contacted.

3 Instrument Panel Speedometer/odometer problem of the 2013 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 10/02/2025

Odometer fraud. The contact owned a 2013 GMC Yukon. The contact sold a vehicle to an independent company, pedal. Com; however, was advised that the vehicle was sold to an individual and the odometer appeared to be altered. The contact stated that another individual discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was an independent dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 119,000. It was later discovered that the mileage was 273,000.

4 Instrument Panel Speedometer/odometer problem of the 2017 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 03/29/2025

Odometer fraud. The contact purchased a 2017 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to an independent mechanic for repair, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 203,000 and at the time of the vehicle servicing, it was discovered that the mileage was 335,142 in the diagnostic report.
