Transmission; while sitting at a stop light when the light changes and hits the gas it falls out of gear, and then it makes a noise when it goes back into gear. Caller does not do anything but take his foot off brake and onto gas pedal. It does not do it all the time, but he does not know when its going to happen. Dealer says if they can't duplicate the problem they can't fix it. So they say there is no problem. Manufacturer was called, and they did not return call. Consumer called them again, and they sent a service representative. He said if they can't duplicate the problem they can't fix it. Also the air bag light keeps coming on and off.

: the contact stated while driving the vehicle going 65mph a loud racing noise could be heard in the transmission, the gears sounded like they were grinding, the vehicle lost all power. The vehicle was pulled off to the side of the road and was then towed to an independent transmission shop. The transmission was replaced; the vehicle was driven for a period of time when the noises started again. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop once again to have the transmission inspected. Upon inspection the transmission was found to be defective. No repairs made at this time. The manufacturer has been alerted.
