Why you are driving the rpms drop down to zero and the car just shuts off and you could be sitting at a light it does the same thing our traffic it is just shut off I googled about the car and it said it was the ignition switch and then when I googled that it said it was a recall on my car I'm just trying to see what's going on.
Ingnition switch no retorna a paso 0 el motor no retorna a off , y se activa el motor DE aranque sin control y coje fuego.
Ignition some times doesn't work.
When your driving out of the blue the car will just cut off when it feels like it and you have to try to coast to the side of the road and let the car sit for a minute and try to start it a couple of time before it will actually start 95 % of the time it happens while the car is in motion its happened on the interstate and city streets the other 5% of the time it happens when I come out to start the car it will start then sometimes it will just shut off and it's unsafe when I'm on the interstate in the middle lane and my car just shuts off and im coasting in traffic trying to get to the shoulder without getting hit.
My vehicle turned off while I was driving. I was driving about 15 -20 mph on a main st. Light lit up on the dash, then all dash lights went out, the power steering stopped working and the brakes stopped as well. I had to slam my foot on the brakes to keep from hitting a vehicle at a light.
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 05v025000 (electrical system), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the key could not be removed from the ignition after the recall repair. The key was able to be removed after several attempts. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 256,482.
Takata recall I had problems with getting the key to turn in the ignition. It eventually failed. I was informed by a professional that it was the key. I had the key replaced. Honda tried to charge me for the key knowing that there was a recall. Too, my headlights have always been very dimmed. I have bought several replacements. They still appear very dim.
My 99 Honda Accord has started loosing power and shutting down while driving, took to independent mechanic who replaced plugs and wires we have replaced wires twice in less then 6 months but this hasn't fixed the problem. After reading the complaints I see quite a few others have same problem. This is a safety issue and car should be recalled!.

Same issue as everyone else with a 1999 Honda Accord VIN # starting with 1hgcg, was told by Honda my vehicle did not fall under the recall. My car will turn off while driving down the road, I've had it happen at 70 mph and I have had it happen at 15 mph. Normally will turn off and restart itself (while driving) and the key signal will flash. The past two times my car has completely turned off on the interstate and I had to fight to get over before getting killed. As well as, my car has turned off while in drive as I was slowing down to park and the key could be removed from the ignition. If these were the recalls and I have a 1999 Honda I do not understand why my car is not included. I promise I will call everyone I have to, to make this right. I have a child and I can not be stalling while driving down the interstate.
My car has been randomly shutting off while driving for several months. No one could tell me exactly what was causing it. This problem has occurred numerous times including on the interstate. There is no warning other than lights flashing on the dash and then cuts off. I lose my power steering and can barely get it to the side of the road to restart it. Nine times out of ten it will restart on the first try but sometimes I have to work with it to get it to start again. I noticed that there are many Honda Accords that have this problem and there was actually a recall on 97-2000 Honda Accords. I called Honda and they told me my specific VIN number is not covered under the recall. Ive noticed that there are several people who aren't covered under the recall with 99 Honda Accords whose VIN number begins in 1hgcg just as mine does and are having the same problem. So obviously it is a safety issue that is a manufacturer default. It does not take a rocket scientist to gather that. What will it take to get Honda to recall it?.
Car shuts off while driving.
When I'm driving along, the car will suddenly die. No sputter, no nothing, just dead. This happened a few times and I just took it to Honda. Searching on the internet says that electrical switch seems to be the problem. However, I called the Honda dealer at dch kay Honda, 200 NJ-36, eatontown, NJ 07724. They said no complaints or recall on my VIN. This is safety issue as it may stop at any time during the driving.

I have a 1999 Honda Accord and I jus paid to get front headlight wire replaced because I could not use low beam lights only high beam. Light is working now but there is a suspension and/or electrical problem I need to check. The heat/air doesnot come on? is this car safe to drive?.

All the lights, radio, dashboard came on, but when I turned the ignition to start it wouldn't turnover. Also when I go to slow down or stop the car cuts completely off. It happens more often than it doesn't.
As I was driving my vehicle on the highway, the engine suddenly turned off. As a result, I had to maneuver the car to the side of the highway as I coasted to a stop. During this time it was difficult to steer. I was able to turn the car on again and be on my way. It then happened again several miles down the highway. This was about 5 days ago and it has not happened since.

Vehicle stalls or engine shuts off while driving on roadway. Has been happening for several months, but lately has gotten much worse. The last time I drove the car to work it shut-off over 10 times.
My 1999 Honda will randomly just quit running. The engine dies and the door locks unlock. It will start right away. From what I've been reading, there was a recall for this exact situation. Do you know how I can contact the company to final a complaint?.
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis but they were unable to duplicate the problem. The vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 02v120000 (electrical system) but the dealer refused to repair the vehicle a second time. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
While driving between 40-45 miles an hour, my car shut down. The radio shut off, the whole car shut down! thank goodness no one was behind me. I sat there in shock and tried to restart it, and it started right back up. This has happened twice before, but I was a red light/stop sign. I didn't think anything about it, because I thought I let up a little to much on the clutch. It just quietly shut down. I can't imagine if I was on the interstate with a tractor trailer behind me. I went straight home and googled and found out that there was recalls on electrical parts of switch. Called local Honda dealer. He stated that many has come through the door over this, but my VIN was not part of it. I will contact Honda corporation and try my luck there. It just shut down with no warning. Unbelievable!!.
Tl- the contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, all of the lights on the instrument panel illuminated and simultaneously, the vehicle stalled. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer for diagnosis. The contact was informed that the recall repair for NHTSA campaign number: 02v120000 (electrical system) would need to be performed but an interlock lever would need to be purchased and replaced first. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer for diagnosis but the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileage was 160,000. Kmj.
When traveling at any speed, but primarily above 50mph the car stalls. I will pull the car off the roadway, wait 30 seconds and attempt to restart. At times it will take up to a couple of minutes for the car to eventually start. Around the same time as the onset of this problem the car makes a grinding sound when you turn the key to start it. The same sound you would her if you were to try and turn the key to the start position after it is already started. The amount of pressure you put on turning the key does not seem to make a difference. The stalling problem has me the most concerned for myself and others.
My car stalls while driving. This is dangerous and I am afraid.
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle within a few minutes. While coming to a stop at a stop sign the car shut itself off, but restarted, all the electronics were not affected. A second event happened two weeks later while the car was being driven at 65mph, power steering, and power brakes were affected.
I was driving on the interstate. My car started trying to go out on me like it wasn't getting the fuel it needed or something. I was going 65mph and then also when I stop at a light it tries to idle out or it does go out.
Car would just shut off without warning while driving creating dangerous situations. Would usually restart afterwards and run fine. There was a recall for this problem in 2002 which I had performed. Apparently remains a problem as the vehicle ages as I just had the recall performed for a second time 9 years later.
1999 Honda Accord ex-v6. Consumer states vehicle engine quit and would not restart and gear shift would lock the consumer stated after waiting for about five minutes; she was able to restart the vehicle and continue as normal. The dealer was unable to find a problem.
I was driving my 1999 Honda Accord on the highway and all of a sudden all the electrical system cut off and I was forced to pull over and restart the car. This has happened several times before and I took it to my mechanic who said there is a problem with Honda's with the electrical switch and it was recalled. . This is very scary and could cause a major accident. Is there anything one can do to rectify this problem because I was told to pay for it myself. . Thank you.
The car cuts off at any giving time the lights are dim and the electrical is malfuntioning.
The ignition shuts off. The gm recall on ignition sounds very similar. The car just shuts off on the freeway going any speed 20-70 miles per hour and sometimes at a stop sign. No warning at all. Almost caused accident on freeway with having to get to shoulder as soon as possible. Realize sometimes I put pressure on key toward clockwise slightly and engine right back on like nothing happened. But sometimes need to keep the forward pressure on it or it goes off again immediately. New key helped some but not completely.
