1 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2016

The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. While attempting to utilize the horn, it failed to sound. The failure occurred intermittently. The dealer could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 87,500.

2 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2010

I have a 1999 Honda Accord lx and while passing a transport the engine suddenly died at 140km/hr. I put the car in neutral but it didn't start,so as we slowed down another transport which was coming up behind us to pass the slower transport as well then started honking the horn and we could nothing but wait till the transport we were attempting to pass got further ahead of us so we could pull over to shoulder and allow the transport behind us to get by. It was a very dangerous scary situation. The car did restart after several attempts. We had just had the ignition changed under the recall about two weeks prior to this. We have recently removed any unnecessary keys and used only the Honda key and it has not quit since.

3 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2006

: the contact stated the horn worked intermittently and was hard to press in certain spots. The dealership re-fitted the horn wires and determined the horn was operating to factory specifications. The repairs did not repair the problem. The accelerator would always stick in the morning. The door locks worked intermittently. The right front window would squeak when going up. The valve cover gasket was replaced. Updated 05/16/06.

4 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2004

The horn failed to work when needed. Vehicle was taken to the dealership, and technician determined that horn and the air bag were designed on the steering wheel. They need to remove the air bag to fix the horn, and this will cost $2500 at consumer's expense. The consumer requested that the manufacturer pay for the repair since it appeared to be a manufacturing defect.

5 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2003

Consumer states that the vehicle was on recall for the ignition switch. Consumer states that the dealership will not honor recall. The Accord seem to have horn problems where it blew out while steering the wheel is in almost straight ahead position.

6 Horn Assembly problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2002

Recall on ignition switch/steering column case steering column had groove marks from steering wheel ignition switched replaced / steering column case replaced since then the horn doesn't blow all the time when blown. I also reported this to the state police here in baton rouge, la.
