Emission Control problems of the 1999 Honda Accord

Three problems related to emission control have been reported for the 1999 Honda Accord. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Emission Control problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2008

1999 Honda Accord v-6 egr emission defect, egr ports clogged with carbon deposits, reference NHTSA #627312, TSB 99085, Honda is unwilling to pay for repairs.

2 Emission Control problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2006

Continuous engine check light pointing to failures in the emissions control system. Monetary loss is becoming unacceptable.

3 Emission Control problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2002

Consumer states that after filling the gas tank, the check enging lights comes on and stays on, this occurs because gas is leaking into the spark plug,which may cause an engine fire. Consumer was informed by dealer that she has to click her cap 3 times to avoid this problem. Nlm consumer stated that check engine light came on. Dealer diagnosed bad evaporative canister control valve and replaced the valve.
