Srs light has come on and there is no apparent problem. I have been told that my airbags will not deploy if this light is on and dealership wants tons of money to fix it. Since this is a major safety feature, this should be recalled. I have seen lots of other people with this common problem and I think you really should look into this.
My car is a 2000 Honda Accord se. The srs light will not go off. It is going to cost a lot of money to replace part. There are may complaints about this area of concern. When is the recall going to be issued?.
Srs stays on.
Srs light turns on intermittently. This lasted for several months but now the light has remained on.
1) the srs light keeps coming on. 2) passenger side seat-belt occassionally unclips itself.
Srs light came on around 80,000 miles. I have been told everything from it was no big deal, your air bags will not work. I just wanted to know that danger, if it could be fixed, and if there was a warranty coverage issue. It didn't seem to be covered by a recall, even though there were hundreds of cases on the web of people with Accords all having the same problem.
Srs light on instrument panel stays on. .
Srs light staying on after 100k miles.
Srs warning light came on July, 2006. Took car to dealer under warranty extension: main components of the occupant position detection system. Car returned un-repaired. Srs warning light still on.
(1) srs indicator turned on and stays on (2) could indicate problems with the srs system.
I have a 2000 Honda Accord with only 50,000 miles and the sensor system in the front passenger seat that detects whether a person is properly seated is defective because my srs warning light constantly stays on during vehicle operation. I am utterly disappointed given its early failure rate since I have been a loyal Honda/Acura customer for a very long time. I hope there is a recall or extended warranty to cover this problem. It appears many 2000-2001 Accords/3. 2tl have this problem.
Srs light came on 2000 Honda Accord ex. Honda dealer diagnosis was srs control unit and a driver side seat belt buckle. Supposedly the $44 buckle was under warranty but the $600 srs control unit is not. Why would a functional buckle with inop sensor be under warranty and the srs control unit (srs brains) not be? how can both fail at the same time? something doesn't sound right.
My 2000 Honda Accord lx battery finally died. A new battery was replaced the same day and now the srs light stays on and won't go away. I contacted a local Honda dealership and they want to charge me $90 just for diagnostic and the cost of repair. I searched on the internet and realized that is a common problem with many Honda and Acura car models after any power related issue.
The srs light of my 2000 Honda Accord dx came on and remain for no reason. I will never buy a Honda any more. Their quality is getting bad but price stays high.
Since year 2000 I have been bringing my Honda Accord to Honda service center for maintenance and repairs. The srs light had been going off and when I took the car to Honda of concord, they just reset the srs light and blamed my cell phone as the possible reason. Since then I avoided placing my cell phone on the passenger seat but the srs light would still turn on after couple of weeks. I have inquired from them if it was a defect and they said "no". This has been going on until in 2004 when I took my car to Honda of oakland when they decided that it was the opds that was faulty and they changed it (charged me $700. 00). After a week that it was changed, the srs light turned on again, and every maintenance service time they just reset the light. 2 weeks ago, Honda of oakland told me that they will replace the opds sensor and will refund me of the $700 that I paid last year. Am supposed to bring my car on Tuesday March 28, 2006 to Honda of oakland service center so they can change the opds. They now claim that it is covered by 5 year warranty (last year they said it wasn't covered). I haven't missed any maintenance service for more than 5 years now and on every visit I have complained about this srs light malfunction. What's the best thing I should do?.
Srs light stays on all the time. Did some research found a lot of similar problems. Have the light reset once, but the srs light came back on a few days later. Searched NHTSA dot website, found, Honda recently issued recall on defected airbag sensor. I thought my car is the same problem. Took it to the dealer, diagnosesd as airbag control unit need replacement which will cost over $900. Decline the fix. But have to pay $90 for checking it out. This light will remind me how bad Honda treat it's defect on safety feature. And how ironic it claim in the recent ad that it cares about safety not only inside the car but also outside the car.
Srs light is on, dealership states 450. 00 to correct this problem. I feel this should be a Honda issue, some type of defect, they have never deployed . . . How can this "wear out" as I was told by the dealership.
While driving my srs indicator light came one. Airbags should be lifetime warranty. Problem is systemic.
I have a 2000 Honda Accord ex, my srs light has been on for several months. I cannot afford to have the repair. Then recently, I received an extended warranty from Honda saying the srs has had problems and if you had or have a problem with it, they will repair it free of charge. However, it is a 10 yr or 150,000 mi. Limit. Well, I commute to work and I have over 197,000 miles on my car. I still have the same problem as everyone else, I just have to use my car more. I feel if they know the problem is defective parts and a safety issue, there should be no question that everyone is covered.
The srs light turned on by itself and remains on. I have 80k miles on the car. I researched many sites and noticed that this is a very common problem and most of them have not got a satisfactory fix. I contacted the dealer and they mentioned $99 just to diagnose. I then sent a fax to american Honda requesting them details of previous occurrence and number of complaints. They declined to provide me the number of official complaints they have received and said they will not help me and I would have to deal it with the dealers. They also mentioned that the complaints in the internet may be bogus.
The srs light continues to come on after being reset. The computer code is 9-4 our mechanic says there is a problem with the sensor in the passenger side seat belt sensor.
Srs light indicator turns on. Air bags system/board is malfunctioning.
My 2000 Honda Accord ex v6 battery finally died on 01/30/2006. A new battery was replaced the same day and now the srs light stays on and won't go away. I contacted a local Honda dealership and they want to charge me $90 just for diagnostic and the cost of repair. I searched on the internet and realized that is a common problem with many Honda and Acura car models after any power related issue. As proclaimed reliable car company, I wanted to know why Honda won't admit they have a problem and voluntarily have dealership fix it free of charge for the customers. I will be one of the customer gives serious thought on any future Honda purchases.
Srs light is on I think there is a problem with Honda Accords regarding srs light. It keeps coming on. I already took it to a dealer. He had initially replaced opds unit. Even after 2-3 months it came back on. Now when I take it back, he says there is some other problem. On internet I see a lot of people having the same problem. It is manufacturing defect that Honda in not handling properly.
Srs light has been on for 2 years without apparent reason. Dealers have looked at it, reset it and it after a couple of days it comes right back on.
I own a 2000 Honda Accord ex. My srs light came on at approximately 80,000 miles. My warranty expired at 75,000 miles. According to the Honda dealership, they have tried to re-set the unit but it will have to be replaced. I have spoken to another Honda Accord owner at the dealership who states the same thing has happen to him but he had the unit replaced. According to your website, I see that this problem is happening to a lot of Honda owners.
Srs light keeps on coming on.
I own a 2000 Honda Accord se and the srs indicator illuminated causing me to take into my Honda mechanic. He ran a diagnostic and discovered a temporary code 09-03 indicates a malfunction in the drivers seat belt switch. This cost me $75. He scanned the engine computer for stored codes and retrieved the temporary code 09-03 occurred 14 times over 157 key cycles. Felt problem was very intermittent and reset should last a while or never return. Not more than a few days later, the srs illuminated. Called mechanic and he said to bring the car in and we will reset; no charge. This back-and-forth continued for a while until it just became completely inconvenient and had to consider how to fix. Options were 1) replace the seat belt buckle on an educated guess with no guarantee this will solve the problem. Cost: $250. 2) continue the test procedures they have and remove seat and disassembling the seat cover to inspect the seat belt wiring, again with no guarantee. Cost: $225. I have not selected either option as I feel it is a Honda defect and should be covered by them.
The srs light is lit on the dashboard of my 2000 Honda Accord ex. I took the car to my local dealer where they told me it would be $84 for a diagnostic of the problem. The dealer then called to tell me that the opds sensor is not working and it would need to be replaced. While the car was at the dealer, I got on the internet and researched the srs light on Accords. I found out there is a service bulletin, dated April 23, 2004, issued by Honda for all 2000 2-door Accords (as well as many other models) declaring the srs indicator comes on with srs dtc 15-1, 15-2, 15-3 , and probable cause is a faulty occupant position detection system (opds) unit. With that said, both the dealer and american Honda motor CO. , are aware of the service bulletin, and the faulty parts they sold in their automobiles and neither are willing to replace the opds sensor.
Dt:the contact complained about the air bag sensor. The air bag sensor indicator light (srs) came on intermittently. The light came on every time the car was driven. The opds switch short circuited. The warranty on the switch was for only 36 months or 36,000 miles. The switch had not been repaired. Updated 11/29/2005 - the consumer also had problems with the seat belts since the vehicle was purchased. This problem was brought to the attention of the dealer but they claimed there was no problem.
The srs light on my car has suddenly appeared and will not turn off. The dealer explained that it was probably a bad opds sensor because they have been receiving several complaints about it. I chose not to opt for the $600 repair. Perhaps also related is the fact that my side air bag indicator turns on frequently whenever a passenger shifts his weight to one side of the seat--it goes away once he moves back to the center of the front seat. It is a however a nuisance and is not what I expect from Honda.
July 3, 2002: srs light came on, Honda auto center of bellevue (wa) diagnosed code 15-3 opds sensor. Sensor reset. (warranty) July 30, 2002: srs light came back on, dealer (above) diagnosed code 15-3 again. Ordered new opds. (warranty) August 9, 2002: opds control unit replaced by dealer, ref. Illuminated srs light. Honda replaced sensor in July 2002; however had several instances where srs light is illuminated since sensor replacement. The local dealership would reset system; however charged fee to test system. The local dealership also mentioned to not put anything in passenger seat to avoid light from coming on. Passenger seat is rarely occupied. Since extended warranty has expired, srs light is illuminated once again.
Srs light is on and won't go off.
After changing the battery the srs light illuminated about a year and a half ago. The consumer went to a dealer, and the dealer reset the system for the srs air bags. This corrected the problem for the time being. Afterwards, the light illuminated again. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, and the dealer noted this was an electronic interference or an issue with occupancy for the srs. The consumer paid for the reset both on incidents. Now, the dealer said the opds occupant position detection sensor would need to be replaced. The consumer has not replaced this because he felt Honda should be responsible. No other repairs or corrections at this time. The dealer also indicated it would be senseless to reset the srs since the repair have not been performed.
