The accelerator stuck and I was unable to get the car to slow down. I attempted pulling the emergency brake, putting the car in first gear, and applying the break with no response. This incident was recorded on a 911 call that I made during the entire event. I did give details of what I was doing to prevent the car from accelerating however all measures failed. I did eventually put the car in park and turned the key to get the vehicle to stop. Honda is now denying any malfuction.

My 2001 Accord has had a problem with the accelerator sticking since it was new. While it hasn't yet stuck open it does stick everday. It seems worse when it is first cranked in the morning, however, letting it warm up has not effect. This is especially dangerous in parking garages and lots. I have had this auto to apple tree Honda on at least six occasions and they tell me they can't duplicate the problem. I have left it overnight for them to service the next day and they insist it doesn't do this with them. I have complained to them on at least 6 occasions and paid for three fuel injection cleanings. The accelerator still sticks. I understand from doing internet research that this is a common problem with my year automobile, yet Honda obviously doesn't want to address the issue. In addition, my transmission is getting worse day by day. It now doesn't engage properly especially after driving, stopping and taking off again on a grade. While this car has a grade logic sensor the sensor apparently doesn't do it's job because I live in the mountains and it never engages. Apple tree also tells me that they just can't seem to duplicate any transmission problem. I am aware that there is an extended warranty due to a recall but apple tree has never mentioned any repair to me. In addition, from internet research, when you take your Accord for this warranty repair they use a "used" transmission under the excuse that it will take to long to get a new one. I have written a detailed letter to american Honda to see if they will assist me, other than another trip to apple tree, whose service is substandard and has been for years. When I owned my first Accord I drove over an hour for service to another state because apple tree actually damaged by car during service, left me sitting three hours durning a 10 minute oil change because they couldn't "forgot" I was waiting, etc. This is my second Accord but definitely my last unless Honda deals with the issues.
While stopped then started up a slight hill depressed accelerator pedal which stuck, causing vehicle to run into a house.

Accelerator sticking down when driving; especially when I first drive it anytime of the day. Have to push down a couple times to get it to release.
When stepping on accelerator it will stick without a prior warning. Consumer had to drive to side and turn off engine. Then, restarted and accelerator worked again, and after awhile would stick once again.
Accelerator pedal sticks when trying to apply pressure to accelerate. It becomes hard to push. Dealer has not been contacted yet.
Accelerator sticks when trying to take off from a complete stop. Happens when slowing down and trying to speed up. Also, happens when at a complete stop. Contacted dealer, and the dealer cleaned engine and replaced throttle. Problem still occurs.
Accelerator pedal sticks at first start, dealer stated this was due to carbon built up on throttle. Needed to be cleaned regularly. Vehicle will not start due to faulty battery. Dealer replaced battery.

I put the car in reverse on my driveway to go to work. I gently pushed the gas pedal like I do every day. The car jumped like a bullet spun 180 degrees hit a tree in my front yard spun around for another 180 degrees and landed in my front yard. The trunk of the car was totaly destroid and the passenger side was badly damaged when the car spun the second time and hit another tree in my front yard. I think when I pushed the gas pedal somehow it got stuck and caused the rapid uncontrol acceleration of the car. I called the police department to report the accident but they told me that they could not make a report due to the fact that the accident happened in a private property and nobody was injured. I also called the dealer.
While driving 50 mph accelerator pedal stuck, causing loss of vehicle control, cause unknown. Dealer could not identify cause. Please give any further details.
Engine hestitates/lurches forward at any speed when using regular unleaded gasoline. Problem less frequent when using premium gas, but is causing carbon buildup on throttle body over time, which leads to the accelerator sticking. Local dealer stated they have been aware of this problem. Dealer suggested lower grade gasoline to prevent carbon buildup. Dealer offered no explaination why engine is hesitating.
The accelerator pedal became stuck, which caused the vehicle to accelerate faster.
While driving and upon pressing the accelerator pedal throttle sticks. Please provide any further information, and vehicle identification number.
