On Tuesday, September 23, I was applying the brakes as I was approaching a stop sign. When I had slowed to about fifteen miles an hour the car suddenly accelerated and the brakes were not enough to stop it so I shifted into neutral and stopped. The engine continued to race in neutral. I shifted into drive and things returned to normal. I then started to move forward and the car suddenly again accelerated rapidly. I shifted into neutral and then into drive and things returned to normal. I then drove home without a further problem.

When traveling on an interstate highway in the left lane of a 2-lane highway with the adaptive cruise control turned on. Passing a tractor trailer going slower in the right lane, the car will apply the brakes unexpectedly. The dash will briefly show a "ghost" truck crossing into the left lane. The unexpected braking causes any vehicle behind the Accord to brake. Putting those vehicles and any behind them at risk. Smart Honda of des moines looked at the car on sept. 22, 2025 reported no error codes and nothing could be done. If the Accord hugs the far left shoulder, no "ghost" breaking occurs. If the adaptive cruise control is turn off and regular cruise control is turned on, no "ghost" braking occurs.
I have taken my car to the Honda dealership on multiple occasions because my car has stopped accelerating while driving on the interstate. The car will flash the check engine light and completely stop accelerating while driving. I was first told it was the fuel pump that was recalled and waiting over a year on the recalled part and multiple times breaking down while driving they finally replaced the part. After the dealership replaced fuel pump I continued to have problems unfortunately happening more often and worse than before replacing the fuel pump. I was then told my car was misfiring and needing a tune up which would involve replacing all four coil packs and spark plugs. I replaced all of these recommended parts with no resolution to my problem. I have since be told by the dealership my car needs all four fuel injectors replaced after running the diagnostic tests. After doing research it seems to be a common problem with this make and model car. I can’t believe with as many cars with this same issue and the safety issues with completely stalling in the middle of traffic there are no recalls on these cars.

Upon commuting to work, the car failed to accelerate causing the car to almost suddenly stop while driving; at the same time of the failure warning lights and beeping occurred. No warnings prior to failure. By god’s grace, I was not yet on the expressway and avoided what would have been a horrible accident jeopardizing not only my life but the lives of anyone that would have been behind me. The gasket failed (cylinder #3) and is available for inspection upon request. It was a significant safety issue as the failure occurred without warning causing the car to stop no warning. Yes, the dealer has confirmed the failure and I was quoted a $5800 repair cost in spite of a owning a lifetime power train warranty. No, the vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. I did place a call to american Honda and we were given a case #15822812 (but this case has since been closed without action. ) no warnings occurred before the failure. (beeping and messages occurred at the time of failure. ) had the failure occurred at a high rate of speed, on an expressway, loss of life could have occurred and no one would know what caused the accident since cars are usually towed away and declared “totaled. ” fortunately, I was on a road of 35mph but in just a few more minutes would have been at a speed of 65mph. There is a further safety concern that the dealer admits that there is a known problem with the oem component but plans to continue to replace with the same product. Note: this car has a superior care record and only 110,000 miles which means the failure is likely to occur again with the same parts. Internet searches are confirming this is a known product failure with no recall.

This car came with problem and I want to this if Honda can fix it for free since its they mistake.
I have been having problems with many dashboard lights coming on at once. I got it checked out and I got abs code 123 - 11 and code 81 - 20. This has been going on since the beginning of August 2025. This could lead to dangerous malfunctions, and is one of the most expensive things to repair. It is my understanding that many many vehicles between 2013 and 2017 in the Honda range I've been experiencing this to the point of where we need a recall.

I never was informed about the fuel pump recall , all the lights on my car came on , acceleration was slower , car was jerking , and when taking it to Honda they stated 2 of my cylinders has a misfire and water or coolant leaked and blew my head gasket , the car never ran hot and the guy asked did any light come on and I told him for some old reason every light on the dash was on and the car is vibrating while even in park reverse and when it's moving . I've read up on this and there are numerous of people with this same issue and this should mean something , Honda stated it would cost 6000 to fix when they should have already been warning people of the matter ahead of time . For some odd reason the car would just drive 10mph when I am driving jumping out in traffic having to pull over and restart the car . Guy at Honda even stated fuel pump could have been the issue and they have witness this with other cars like mine.

Vehicle power loss and system malfunctions I am writing to formally express my concern regarding a recurring and potentially dangerous issue with my vehicle, 2023 Honda Accord hybrid. Twice while driving, the vehicle suddenly shut down on the freeway and completely lost power. In both cases, I was fortunately able to steer the car to the shoulder of the road, but this posed a serious safety risk. During these incidents, multiple system error messages appeared on the dashboard, including alerts related to braking, lane departure, and other critical functions. Alarmingly, this same issue has also occurred while the vehicle was parked in my garage. Each time, the only way to temporarily resolve the issue has been to shut off the vehicle and restart it. Upon restarting, the only remaining warning is related to the braking system, along with a prompt to bring the car to the dealership. If the vehicle is restarted again, all error messages disappear. I have contacted my dealership after each occurrence and brought the vehicle in for inspection. My car is currently at the dealership, and I am awaiting information on the cause of the problem and the proposed resolution. After the first time it happened, I have taken video/pictures of the errors and supplied same to the dealership. I consider this a serious safety concern—not only for myself but also for any passengers and other drivers on the road. Quite honestly, I am now afraid to drive the car, knowing that it could unexpectedly shut down at any moment without warning.

All lights on head dash are on , all components are not working properly or effected because of this. (engine light brake light abs light tire light traction control light , sensors out all) while driving vechile reduces power does not operate randomly , have to pull over shut the car off and turn it back on. Has high vibrations lot of shaking, stauling. I have had it looked at with multiple shops and dealer . Everybody is playing a guessing game and can not pin point what exactly it is . Was told it was spark plugs and coils, alternator , fuel injectors. All have been repaired, and still have all lights on dash and still facing every problem listed after repairs. Been inspected by manufacturer. Say not been resolved was told if it wasn’t what was already fixed they don’t know and that this is very common right now . It first started about a month ago.
Abs modulator assembly has left me stranded I see that this has been a major issue for Honda's. There has not been any recalls for this issue but they see that it is a major problem. I was told by king Honda in auburn alabama that this is a $2000 dollar issue and they do not know when the part will be available due to being on backorder. Please advise.

Purchased new delivery date: August 13, 2024 this is an ongoing issue, car indicates radar needs cleaning. Each time I pull off road to check radar no such cleaning is needed, it's clean. Once the car indicates that the radar needs cleaning I loose multiple functions, cruise control, lane assist etc. Attached picture.

I was driving on the highway yesterday when all of a sudden several errors flashed on my dashboard, and my gas pedal stopped working. When I pulled over, I noticed an error code that read: "brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced". Not only did I lose all acceleration control, but the error codes tell me there are brake issues. After researching online it seems like many others have experienced this issue and some people found the issue was caused by a faulty ignition control module.
My vehicle had been running fine up until the dash lit up, engine check turned on along with the tire pressure sensor and as of right now my car does not accelerate.
On 5/8/25 when the light turned green at the stop light, my car shut down while the gear was on drive. It immediately came back on with the dashboard showing warnings for the (tpms), brakes system, stability system, among others. I accelerated while on drive but the car did not move forward. I turned the flashers on. I had cars behind me honking and going around me. I put the shifter in park. A car behind almost rear ended me. I tried a second time to go by shifting the gear to drive but I had no luck. I put it back in park and turned it off. I turned it back on and the dashboard seemed fine, the car accelerated when I shifted it to drive. This is the second time that the same car shut down on me, the first time was over a year ago when the car was in motion at around 40 mph, I was able to pull over. The first time the dealer replaced a part and told me the problem was fixed. This time around the advisor said there's nothing they can do because they can't replicate the problem. It's very concerning because it can happen at any time anywhere at any speed.
The 1000 miles or so, when trying to increase speed, would feel the gears slip between revolutions. I would let up on the gas pedal then slowly resume pressure, which sometimes worked or sometimes didnt. On April 19th while going up a hill on a side road, the car stalled and transmission warning light came on. I pulled over and shut the car off and restarted was able to slowly continue up hill at 15 miles per hour with the slipping becoming worse ( this is when I first called Honda to bring it in on Monday April 21. ) I was able to arrive to work. After leaving work I pulled out of the parking lot and the car just stalled with all lights and warnings going off from engine to airbag warnings to tire pressure lights going off and dinging. This is when I called a tow truck to tow to the curtiss ryan dealership. After talking to them at dealer they told me that other Accords have had this problem.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to park the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact veered to the left and struck a cement pole on the front driver side, where the vehicle came to a stop upon impact. The cement pole did not show signs of damage after the impact. The contact then parked the vehicle at the scene. No warning lights illuminated; however, the message “initializing driving” was displayed. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer; however, the dealer declined to repair the vehicle because the vehicle was out of warranty. The driver’s and passenger’s side air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. There were no injuries sustained; however, the contact had a tight feeling in the right shoulder. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The insurance company was contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a claim was submitted. The failure mileage was 45,606.
This vehicle was built terrible. It had a blown head gasket at 86,000 miles. The head was warped. My valve guides and seals were compromised and leaking into the combustion chamber. I need a full head resurfacing job with new gaskets all around. New injectors and new valve cover gasket and everything around. This car has a design flaw and needs to be recalled for mediocre heads life. It almost caused me to get crashed from the back from a semi truck because the car decided to lose complete power while on the road. The cars recalls have been addressed but this whole issue with the faulty heads needs to be addressed. My vehicle is in the shop now and I will have to pay a little over $4,000 now. It's a hazard on the road when you get near to 90,000 miles.
Vsa/abs module has gone bad. Loss of emergency braking.
Knock sensor has been replaced twice in 4 years, the emissions engine states it needs to be changed again. This is causing reduced engine power and acceleration and other issues.

2/24/2025 safety recall work performed at Honda marin; change fuel pump per recall. 4/28/2025 I reported vehicle stalling/misfiring, decelerating on its own and all lights keep coming on as a result of fuel pump change. Marin Honda performed cleaning of battery cables; technician claims nothing is wrong with the car. 5/28/2025 car stalled at intersection, I went back to Honda marin and reported vehicle is still having the same previous issues and complained that this is dangerous to have the car automatically decelerated on its own. This time I requested only for a diagnostic from Honda marin. They spoke to my mom, who was not authorized to approve any work on my car, stated no blown head gaskets but mis-firing on cylinder 3, fixed the issue, passed pressure test(s), no leaks; and car was up to factory specks costs $2812. 77 charged to my mom. 6/03/2025 brought car back to Honda marin, same issues; service dept. Road tested for 4 miles and stated the car was working as normal. 6/11/2025 told Honda marin that the car is stalling and misfiring again; car shut down while on freeway; Honda marin claimed problem was a punctured hose, charged $10. 34 car up to factory specks. 6/12/2025 brought car back to Honda marin; still misfiring, stalling and dash lights coming on. Car will not accelerate past 3000rpm. ; car shut down while in far left land on the 580 richmond-san rafael going to marin county. Honda marin performed leaked down test failed cylinder #4; blown head gasket; verbal quote approximately $5500. 00 to fix. In addition to engine failures I had battery issues as well. Per reddit threads others too are having very similar issues, once the fuel pump is replaced, unexpected additional costs and safety failures often occur. This is a Honda manufacturing defect, the orginal fuel pumps are defective, causing a direct impact on the performance of the engine, unexpected damages which is leading to major finanical and safety costs to the consumer.
Randomly, my car will start throwing many warning signs when I crank my car. Then it magically disappears after 2 days. Also I drive my car past 40mph and the engine light came on and then I could no longer accelerate. My car was slowing down while I was on the freeway. I pulled over, turned my car off then back on. Everything is back to normal. Next day, I crank my car, warning signs again and then disappears. I took my car to the auto shop and they could not find any codes. I have videos and pictures. There’s also a Honda facebook group with my same model car reporting the same behavior.
I was driving approximately 60 mph on a local highway when my the check engine light came on. The dashboard then started flashing warning messages for multiple error messages stating that many features were failing such as power steering, acceleration, brakes, lane assist, stability assist, and more. My car then lost power and decelerated, coming to a complete stop in the middle of the highway. I was unable accelerate or steer my vehicle to the side of the road. No one hit me but this could have easily caused an accident where either myself or others were hurt. I turned the car off and when I restarted it, my dashboard message stated that I had a brake system problem and that I should see my dealer. I was able to drive to the dealer where they ran a diagnostic and could not replicate the problem. They only stated it was a loss of communication in the computer but that "it would probably not happen again. " they did nothing to identify what could have caused the loss in communication and said if it happened again, to bring the car back. I plan to take it to a certified mechanic to inspect the vehicle but I feel very unsafe driving a car that may lose power.
Brake system light keeps coming on.

The vehicle unexpectedly stalled - lost power while driving and the brake system warning light came on. There were no warning lights, messages or other issues with the vehicle prior to this failure. Was fortunate that the car coasted to a stop on the side of a busy road with no traffic following behind. The vehicle was then towed to a Honda dealership for inspection. Was advised by the service department that there was a software update - unbeknown to us. The error code was cleared and the service department completed the pcm update per service bulletin 25-017.
The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. The contact stated that after start-up, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions while attempting to accelerate from being stationary. The contact stated that the failure had occurred while driving forward or while in reversing, and while turning the steering wheel six degrees in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure or determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 84,000.

While driving the vehicle, usually while passing another vehicle, it slams on the brakes suddenly and decelerates rapidly. I suspect it has something to do with how it reads it's surroundings. When it happens, which is without warning, the brake light comes on the dash. It has happened multiple times but recently it was a close call with another vehicle behind me on the interstate. Which is why I'm taking the time to report this. I have not had it inspected.
On January 22, 2025, I was driving at highway speed and suddenly my car seemed to lag in power. It slowed from about 60mph to 40mph and pressing on the gas did not do anything. The check engine light began flashing. I felt like it would continue to slow down and it was rush hour. I managed to safely exit the freeway and parked the car. I turned it off, waited a moment, turned it back on. It seemed ok so I drove carefully using back streets to the local Honda dealership. They kept the car for 2 days and ran tests but nothing showed on their computer and they could not replicate the problem. They gave me the car back. I saw another recall today for other models of Honda that have this exact problem. My car has 41700 miles on it. The weather was cold but clear. This is the first time this has happened.
See video here: [xxx] description: driving at a slow speed, all of a sudden my car went dead. Brakes went out, gas didn't work, and the car went through a series of errors essentially telling me nothing on the car worked. For around 30 seconds to a minute the car was non-responsive. Then eventually power came back and I got an error message telling me to take the car in because of a brake malfunction. This brake message was on the dash until I parked the car again, then there was no error and the car started up and behaved normally. This has happened twice, once in a parking lot, once in a parking garage. Luckily neither time I was headed towards another car, as I would have crashed. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
We were driving on the highway when the vehicle began stalling and failed to accelerate. We pulled onto the shoulder and all of the lights on the dash were on "check engine, electric power steering light, and low fuel light: the vehicle had half a tank of gas, so it was not a low fuel issue. After a few attempts the car finally started again and began to pick up power. My neighbor who is a certified Acura mechanic, used his diagnostic tool and the error code p0087 popped up indicating a drop in fuel rail/system pressure. This is the first time this has happened to this vehicle. We have serviced it regularly at our local Honda dealer since we purchased the vehicle. We see that there is an active recall for the exact issue we experienced NHTSA recall number:23v-858, however, our VIN number was not included in that for some reason. We feel strongly that the issue is indicative and matches that recall campaign and are requesting this recall be investigated and expanded.
Mid October 2023, we driving on the freeway and the car started to slow down on its own. We could not accelerate to match the speed of cars around us or to get the speed limits in a 55 to 65 zone, making it dangerous for us and others to continue driving on the freeway at extremely slow/low speeds. We towed it the dealership, who said it was defective spark plugs. This car was only 4 years old with extremely low millage and the spark plugs should've last a lot longer. They changed the spark plugs under warranty. Late November 2024, we were getting off the freeway and the check engine light came on but there were no service codes. Everything was running normally except for the engine was making a loud noise. We parked at a shopping center and approximately 30 minutes later, restarted the car and all these messages and icons appeared for: vehicle stability assistant system problem, hill start assistant problem, acc, collision mitigation breaking system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, emissions system problem, tpms, brake system problem, electric power steering system problem. Towed it dealership and after an hour of diagnostics testing, they said it’s the spark plugs again! just a little over a year and 2 out of 4 spark plugs are bad again. This is not right. We hardly drive this car and it’s only a little over a year since the spark plugs were replaced and a little over 5 years since we got the car brand new. Spark plugs are supposed to last 10 years or 100,000 miles and we’re not close to either. This time they said it's not covered under warranty and is over $800.
On three separate occasions (the most recent of which was on Saturday), my vehicle’s dashboard lit up with various alerts, including “brake system problem”, “tpms problems”, and “vehicle stability assist system problems”. At the same time, the vehicle’s accelerator completely stopped working. The issue would only resolve itself (and the alerts would go away) after I pulled over and restarted the vehicle twice. This issue happened on Saturday (on a highway), in March 2024 (driving out of a parking lot), and in February 2024 (on the highway). This is a safety issue because not being able to use the accelerator on the highway could potentially have lead to a serious crash. The dealers have been unable to replicate the issue. I've brought in the vehicle to dealerships on three occasions and have been told that because the alert wasn't actively visible when I brought it in after the fact.
Electronic throttle actuator, gas pedal assembly failed. As I accelerated the gas pedal failed in the position against the firewall and could not be pulled up. The vehicle increased speed on its own and brakes did not work. The spedd continued to increase. I had the vehicle towed to cardinal Honda 860-449-0411 in groton connecticut. Polise were on sight on the highway after I pulled over in neutral. No other way to stop the car. The car in in the shop and awaiting the new part. There was not indication in the dash panel that the electronic throttle actuator needed to be looked at. It was a sudden failure.
Everyday the vehicles struggles to pick up on speed and stalls out. I am often holding up traffic because I’m driving to slow. I have to very very very slowly accelerate so that the car doesn’t stall. When the trying to accelerate it often skips and jerks while driving. I often wonder if this will affect me while driving on the interstate. I fear that a bad accident is on the horizon with these issues. Could you please help. I’ve tried multiple times since last December to get the car fixed and Honda refuses to fix my vehicle even though I received a letter in the mail saying more repair parts are available.
All of a sudden, the accelerator pedal stopped working --- all I really know is that the car wouldn't accelerate, regardless of how much I pressed on the pedal, and the car had to roll to a stop. A bunch of warning lights came on about the brakes malfunctioning, but I don't remember if the brakes actually stopped working (I was more focused on the fact that I couldn't accelerate --- this happened right as I was starting to move after a red light turned green). Thankfully this happened when I was going slowly in a residential area --- if I had been on the freeway and unable to get over to the shoulder before the car came to a halt, this could have caused a serious/fatal accident (or if the brakes really had stopped working, even in a residential area I could have crashed into something/someone). The car remained unresponsive until I turned the whole thing off and on again, at which point it started working like normal (although still with the warnings). I took the car to my dealership and they ran diagnostics, but they couldn't find anything and couldn't reproduce the problem when they drove it around, so they just shrugged and said I should "keep an eye on it and see if it happens again". So unfortunately I don't know what caused the problem or what to inspect (but I'm certainly not going to keep driving the car and risk this happening again).
